Hardwired "digital" sticks; that's disappointing. There's enough native widescreen PS1 games that I might've been interested in buying this because the sticks are in the right place and it looks expensive... Oh well. Is this a tweaked version of the Data Frog SF3000? BassDerek said the 3K had hardwired sticks too. It also, I believe, has the same N909 and the OS looks similar. The icons and wallpapers are different; but, some of the menu option placements looked similar.
Sjgam is known for programming away settings on their devices. No matter which Emuelec version, the settings are not there. Everything has to be childproof xD.
I'm mostly only interested in it if the MyMinUI fork works on it that fixes so very much wrong with M21 that makes it worth getting if it was less I think if you get them ~$30 - $40 with two controllers that it's worth it for young kid emulation and as a home console as well but t he M20/ M20 Pro is the one with the 7" 1024x600 screen and an RK3566 but it's goes for ~$100 as a kit which makes it not great unless you want that ultimate NES Christmas morning memory back. If MyminUI works with it then when it drops in price it maybe worth picking up but as it is now it's a solid pass on the last few devices that put out..
Nothing like coffee breath. Instead of a screen protector, you get a finger sleeve. That's different. They did a good job cloning the front end. I loved the d-pad on the M17; I also wished it had a better processor. I wonder if the D-pad is good on the M22. If you're going to give me ewaste, can we get better processors.

I almost wanna get one & test to see some different OS's work on it, bet MinUI does like on the M17
I would only use this with Minui. This thing might be a good alternative to the M17, but not for more than $25USD.
