YES! Folklore is the perfect writing/homework/focus music! I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks that! I need to solidify a writing plan or I will NEVER get my WIP done and I really want to! Also the cats are precious and I love them!
Woah, I couldn't even imagine hitting 10k in 12 hours! But I guess it's easier when you have an outline, lol. Congrats :)

Congrats on a 10K day!nI feel writing and crying. I was sprinting with someone who was streaming, and got to the characters emotional climax. It was an emotional few sprints.
I have made myself cry a few times writing. Especially death scenes.

Every time I've watched a video like this, it's been a good effort, but a total fail and you SMASHED it!!!! The most I've ever written in a day was over 6,000 words? I don't really remember, all I know was that I fast drafted that particular manuscript in ten days flat which felt insane lol

just starting writing for fun again after completing my english degree and i was content with finally getting to 3000 words after a week. you've made me want to push myself 😁
I did 10k earlier in the month for camp and i had a similar experience to you where it went like oddly well
I was expecting to have a lot of issues but it didn't take me too long to get the words. I just did a bunch of sprints until i got there only pausing to eat and to complain to my parents about how exhausted i was 😂😂

Yay this was awesome! NaNo intimidates the heck out of me, so definitely won't participate any time soon. I've been trying to get my tbr to under 10 books (I'm currently on 18, down from 205) and then I'll HOPEFULLY do some writing. I love these vlogs, the energy in them is rad. Congrats! :D
How many pages is 10k words? I am in no way a writer, but I love living vicariously through you lol!
It totally depends, but industry standard is 250 words per page, so on average, 10k is about 40 pages!
@@Katesbookdate Do you standardly write in industry standard? I often find it looking more like you do around 500 words per page in your drafts (which was the standard in our research reports when there was an image on the page as well).

My best word count in a day last year was 4,058. I had a record year in 2015 where I devoted a lot of time and wrote two books (later combining into one) for a total of 101,522 words. I had a special event day where I wrote 10,321 at the halfway point and planned out 6 stops at local Donut shops (my book had a donuts theme). I even dressed up. It was a lot of fun! I miss NaNo (I've skipped recently) but am thinking of participating this year. Watching your vlogs and reading your book as well as other Indies is always an inspiring kick in the butt for me!

No clue how many words, but I think most of what I've written in a day is probably the introduction, discussion and conclusion (plus resources) for a research article as well as the heavy edits that needed to happen on the methods and results section.
I should go sleep now but you've made me hella curious how many words I put on the page. I know I got a high grade for it, but that doesn't tell anything about the word count. Looked it up, it was about 2600.
I think 3000 is the highest I got in fiction, but I find the beta science stuff way more of an accomplishment.
I never finished that fiction project but the story still lives in my outline and in my head. That science thing not so much. My god, I never want to write a paper on that topic again (it was supposed to be the work you do before you start your actual research, but the supervisor forgot to order our phages...).
Can you go to fedex (or whatever it is) to physically pick it up? I know some places do it.

My highest word count in a day was just over 8.5k. That was back in 2016 (I wrote 4 books that year o.o). My average now is about 3-5k, but on a busy-life day, 1.5k words.
1 out of 10 deliveries get placed on my neighbors porch. When something doesn't show up but says it was delivered I check the neighbor's porch and there it is. It's really annoying.
I want to try this but I'm a senior high school and have zero time to write 10k in a day.

A: NOO I'm so sorry about your package :( I know I've had that issue at my apartment a couple times with my packages getting delivered to the wrong unit? Could you try and maybe get it ordered to your parents house and go pick it up from them?? I don't know if that would fix the issue at all :(

Kate, what type of keyboard do you use?
I have excellent dexterity and long fingers. I am 6 feet and 2 inches tall. But I can not stand using those chiclet keyboards. 😭
I have three mechanical keyboards, and each one has a different type of switch. Keyboard fans generally agree that brown switches are the best for typing. Blue switches are for gamer boys who hammer on their keys. I have one of each keyboard, brown and blue, plus a keyboard with red switches.

That's awesome! I write in Microsoft Word. I've heard a lot of great things about Scrivener for organization though!
