Thanks everyone for watching ❤and sorry for the blurry parts, I don't wear my glasses when I film so I couldn't see that the camera wasn't always focusing well. Did you know about the different ways to pronounce GN in French? 📝 Check out my pronunciation course here : bit.ly/3aeXks4
Great explanation, thanks! I am starting to relearn French after years of not using it. I used to speak it well when I was younger. I explain to those who ask how gn is pronounced in Italian (in which I'm fluent) or in French, I tell them to think of the French word we use in English: cognac. I also tell them to think of the Italian word lasagna (though, in Italian we use the plural lasagne because it's made by layering pasta strips and other ingredient). The ñ in Spanish has a similar sound. Another word in which we pronounce the gn similarly is when we say canyon.
Joe this is a wonderful explanation of the sound GN! I wish I included this on this video. I don't know if you saw but I have a free pronunciation course coming up December 1st on my channel. Do you mind if I use your examples for the sound ? I think that would hale a lot of people 🙂
@@TheperfectfrenchwithDylane I grew up in Ottawa, so first exposure starting in kindergarten, then minimal (2x/week I think) in elementary school, then I did French immersion in high school.. But let's just say high school was a long time ago;)
