    It's another episode of veganized! That's where I take a viral recipe video and try to make it vegan. In today's video, I'm making tasty's buttermilk pancakes recipe vegan. Tasty 101 claims these are the fluffiest pancakes and the best pancakes ever. So I wanted to try to make fluffy vegan pancakes. With a few tweaks and recipe hacks, I think I made some pretty good vegan buttermilk pancakes. Disclaimer: This video description contains affiliate links.     I always use a food scale to measure out the flour. This is the only way I can get consistent results. Using cups, spoons, etc is too dependendant on how compacted the flour is, and will give inconsistent measurements.

      I agree. I'm from Canada and always used cups for measuring, but since I moved to Germany and got a kitchen scale to deal with all of the recipes here being in grams, results are way more consistent.

    Yep. Whip the aqua faba, then blend it in. And your pan was too hot. Looks yummy! Making me hungry.

    To everyone saying I should have whipped the aquafaba, the reason I didn't is because Tasty didn't whip the egg whites in their video, they just added them in. But you're right, it would probably make the pancakes even fluffier!!! Thank you so much for watching and I hope you enjoyed the video 🤗🌱

    I didn't know what aquafaba was. This video was right on time, I just got back from the market now I can freeze my chickpea liquid for later use. You're a joy to watch, I can't help smiling. You're fantastic!!!

    Egg(!)plant Stuffed Peppers:
    1-large eggplant, peeled and cut into bite-sized pieces.
    2-Tbsp. Olive Oil
    3-minced cloves fresh garlic
    1-cup seasoned Italian bread crumbs
    1/2 c. fresh basil chopped fine
    1/2 c grated vegan Parmesan cheese substitute
    1/2 lb. sliced vegan mozzarella substitute, sliced; pepper to taste
    1/2 c. fresh parsley, minced
    4 red bell peppers, cut in half lengthwise, seeded and cored, and parboiled in marinara sauce.
    Saute' piece of eggplant in oil with minced garlic until very soft (30 min.) Stir-in bread crumbs until moistened. Add about half the finely chopped basil (6 leaves approx). Add "Parm" black pepper and parsley.
    Fill parboiled peppers halfway with eggplant mixture, then add a slice of "mozzarella" in each center and cover with additional eggplant mixture; (Tofu might work as a substitute for the "cheese.")
    Place in baking pan with 1/2 c. of water and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Garnish with additional fresh basil, "parm," and a spoonful of marinara sauce.
    For some reason basil, eggplant and crumbs make a remarkably beef-like combination...but it's best eaten immediately. It tends to lose something on the re-heat.

    Hi new Sub. I just found you when I was looking for a vegan marinara sauce lol wrote down your fried egg and dipping sauce, which I plan to make today, seems easy enough and I'm excited about it. Oh and wrote down the mac & cheez powder recipe as well and now this recipe .... let's just say I've been searching for a channel that veganize all my childhood favorites with easy yet simple ingredients.     Only a humble person could record their failures and show it online. That's a good quality that is lacking in those that eat animal products including ex-vegans. Because despite the evidence which keeps increasing that a Whole foods Plant based vegan diet is the best diet for their health, the animals and the environment they are too stubborn to change.

      The reason I didn't whip the aquafaba is because Tasty didn't whip the egg whites in their video, they just added them in. But you're right, it would probably make the pancakes even fluffier!

    The most annoying thing about American baking and cooking videos:
    Not using a kitchen scale and not measuring (non-liquid) things in grams.
    Grrrrrrr.
    If you want really consistend results there is no better method than using an accurate gram scale

    Here's one: Twice baked Ranch potatoes. The Ranch powder mix is vegan as are artificial bacon bits. All you would need to substitute would be cheese, milk, butter and sour cream. It's a nice winter comfort food... :)

    I think if you whipped the aquafaba making it like meringue with a bit of cream of tartar then fold it in the batter it won't be liquidy...also add a bit more baking powder since there's no egg this will help it be more airy n fluffy...

    Why did you use a cast iron skillet? Those get too hot too fast for your pancakes

      Actually, the exact opposite is true. Tasty uses a cast iron for their pancakes, and I tried to follow their rules as much as possible, but also cast iron is a beautiful surface to cook on. www.naturallivingideas.com/10-reasons-why-you-should-only-cook-with-cast-iron-pans/

    I know you have a superb chocolate cake recipe, and I love it! It's my go to recipe for chocolate cake, but I know Tasty does one too, with Mayo. Can this be replicated with vegan mayo too?!!! I wonder 🤔would it be possible for you to try it?

    My best tip would be to cook them without any butter next time! If you're using a well seasoned cast iron and don't try to flip the pancakes before they've naturally released from the pan, they'll turn out perfect! There's a science behind not using butter but I can't remember the specifics right now. Also refrigerate the batter while letting it rest.

    I love your pancake recipe in your cookbook! ❤️ I make them every Sunday and add bananas and walnuts. Can't wait to make the pumpkin pancakes!
    You shouldn't scoop your measuring cup in the flour because it will pack in the cup and you'll scoop more flour then you need. 👍🏻

    I haven't seen your book version of this recipe, but most waffle houses typically add some vanilla to the batter for a warm note to hum behind the sweet syrup.
    I think you should try to "veganize" Chicken Marsala. It's a classic Italian dish that, if you can fake the chicken, would be excellent -- and a no brainer -- other than the chicken, it's vegan already. Some recipes will call for butter, but I've found olive oil works fine by itself if the other seasonings are well balanced. Should you dare, I would recommend a good Imported DRY Marsala rather than that sodium-infused crap they sell in the market...
    P.S. Tried your "Buffalo Wings" recipe and it was a big hit. So big, in fact, I was asked today to do the same treatment to slices of zucchini. Turned out good too. :)

    I like how you said that you can make meringue with aquafaba and that tasty said you can add meringue to the batter, but you didn’t make the meringue. It’s all good though! Still love your videos!
