Devout clothes line user here with a tip. I hang all my blouses on clothes hangers and then hang on line. When dry I put right into closet. Very excited for this channel. You are one busy lady!
Yes!!! I too have done this… very little if any ironing needed if you do it this way. On a windy day I would clothespin the hangers to the clothesline so they wouldn’t blow away.
Boil your wooden clothes pins for longevity in a pot of water on the stove for about half an hour.....T-shirt and tops cardigans....hang them all on hangers to prevent creases x x x
Julie wishing you to think twice about the door 😮 I think you should keep the second door for fire safety 🔥 a fire excape especially at the bottom of the upstairs stairways, best wishes 😊 and much love ❤
Living in Australia I have learnt to hang my clothes inside out so that the sun doesn't fade the outside. Then I hang everything from the shoulders otherwise things get out of shape. I have been doing this now for over 50 years & it takes me years to wear my clothes out. Then I cry as my clothes become a part of me. It is interesting to see old photos & there I am wearing the same garments 20 years or more ago. In fact, I still have one dress I used to wear when my granddaughter was a baby & she will be 30 next year.
I keep a lot of clothes too. I buy new for the odd thing but I like wearing tried and true fashion for my own body shape. I don't know what others think of it but I really don't care what they think. I dress for myself not others. Thanks for posting.
Julie! What a treat to be able to watch this again. I am sitting here shocked at how quickly the years have flown by; this was one of the first videos I watched on the American viscountess channel when I fell in love with you and that channel! Sending love, always, from Horseshoe Bend, Idaho! 🤍
Can’t wait to watch once content catches up - but nice reminder to see the progress since the beginning of your Italian journey. Thank you for sharing.
The sweet smell of freshly dried laundry! The sheets are sweet dreams, for sure. I Love your house, you have it all! The kitchen is bright and spacious. Happy, happy!!
I imagine this channel will be as successful as your "English" channels and will probably garner a new audience altogether because of its location. I haven't been home to England in 17 years, so I live vicariously through your English channels, among others, and I always wanted to visit Italy, so I'll add that vicariously through you, too. Thank you!
Love the lovely and beautiful dresses that you are wearing in this video. Looking forward to watching this new channel and watching all of your videos from the very beginning for both existing viewers and for brand new viewers to the channel.
so nice to hear you practicing italian at your launch, thats something that i beg to happen with all the foreigns who buy a house in italy, is very important to keep the culture alive 🥹❤️ much love to this new journey
I am obsessed and with your renovation! I'm 75 have been studying Italian for 3 years and want to come stay in your village ! Are you still going to make it into a VRBO?
How exciting Julie! I’m happy for you. I’m excited for me. I want to live in Italy, but so not on my budget so, you will take me to Italy in your videos. Thanks Julie.
Super start on your new channel - good for you buying this house and fixing it up. New tip for using a clothesline - each time, take a clean wet cloth with you to clean your line before hanging. Its frustrating to discover dirt on clean clothes after all the work of washing and hanging. Its amazing what lands on it - obviously birds and their poop but mice can run across and even just soot from chimneys. PS why masking outdoors necessary?
You might like a clothespin caddy, they are very handy for keeping your pins close at hand but also protected from the sun. And if it rains you can grab it and bring all the pins in at once. They look like a small item of clothing on a hanger but have an opening to reach inside and are full of your clothes pins. You hang it on the line and move it as you go, then take it back in with your basket when you are done. I've never bought one myself, I've always made mine and everyone else's that wants one, lol. You just need to pick out a toddlers dress from a thrift store, sew the hem and arm holes closed and Voilá! Just put it on a hanger and use the neck and maybe some of the open fastenings as your access to the inside. Sometimes you need to get a child hanger or insert the hanger before you sew the hem.
love the new lights! so cute how happy you are here - happy days in your cute little house! am looking forward to this new channel of course i watch all your channels!
Love your new home. Looking fwdto to watching your renovations. Me and my husband have bought a 2 bedroom bungalow. Down sized we are doing it up. New bathroom is nearly finished then the kitchen is next. 😊
How wonderful thankyou so much for taking us on this wonderful journey .next time you go to chinque Terre take a boat trip and see the 5 towns from the sea ,can't Waite for your next trip the only issue I have is don't move the camera so fast I get giddy
Oh Julie i was just watching you enjoying hanging your cloths to dry with your new wooden pins and you mentioned someone warning about leaving them out in the rain yes the wood will rot and i had a fond memory of my mother hanging our cloths out to dry when i was a child and you know she had sew a cloths pin bag 🎒 she used a cloths hanger and a bath towel i believe folded up sewing the top around the sholders of the hanger and leaving an opening to drop her cloths pin in and take out, geez wish i had a picture of it to send ya but i know you are quite crafty and I'm sure you can figure one out but she found it easier to carry in and out as we had 7 in our family and required lots of pins for weekly laundry. Your excitement over the little things in life just brings me joy 😊
Ciao Julie, thank you for taking us back to the beginning. Your "piccolo casa" is so quaint and cozy. I am so looking forward to the finished " Cucina" this channel is going to be so much fun; I am looking forward to our Italian adventures, and the finishing of your piccolo casa. Amore da N.Y.
Remember to add your Babbel link….. I am learning french. Is the basement yours too??? I enjoy watching all of your little house’s renovations. My mother would really have enjoyed watching this. Her father was born in Oliveto Citra.
Hi Julie. I’ve been following all your channels for a while. I absolutely love your excursions when you stay in Italy. You take all of us on your journey and we live vicariously through you. Thank you for opening your family and homes up to us. These are exciting adventures that we all get to enjoy and your enthusiasm and beautiful personality is just wonderful. Much Love from Texas ❤️
I love doing laundry too. Nothing like fresh sheets hung outside. I love your house. I lived in Italy while in the military 1989-1992. I miss the church bells that rang every hour. Can’t wait to return next year.
Could you put the toilets in the shower space and the shower where the toilets are? It may be nice to have the toilets in a closed area. After I learned what happens when you flush a toilet, I'm a firm believer in separation (if possible).
Julie my daughter and I just discovered you! We are planning on moving to Italy in the not too distant future! Will be traveling there next year to look at different areas. I think you could give us great advice!! I’m now following you!

I just discovered your TH-cam Channel American Viscountess this past Saturday and watched about 7 episodes in a row, THEN discovered your LIttle Italian House episodes and binged watched ("literally") all day Sunday! You need a clothes pin caddy. It hangs on your line and holds all your pins. You can move it along the line as you hang clothes. Easy to take inside and hang in a closet or hook.
Julie, thank you for sharing your Italian adventure. You have an incredible sense of style- I can't wait to see the final results. Maybe reconsider getting rid of the second door. It's handy having access to both sides of the house, and it helps with ventilation.

Yes, hang your clothes on hangers and then hang them on the line. And what do use the clothes pins for the spacers so that the hangers don’t slide all together
I find that you can put twice as much on the clothesline if you hang your clothes on coat hangers, they are less creased and easy to just pop straight in the wardrobe when they are dry 👗

Excellent advice 👌 I'm sure Julie will appreciate it 👍 pinning the hangers is also a great ideal as another commenter said 👍 😀
I invert them to so I don't get a bubble on the outside of my shirt or sweater when I wear it.

Don't have many fire going into houses in Italy. Not impossible but very rare

Good idea. Especially considering you don’t know if the electric system is fully up to code.
