From Vic Roads website: "Melbourne’s first were installed as a trial by the Melbourne City Council at the intersection of Swanston and Flinders Street in 1928. These were manually operated, but were used for only 1 year. In 1929, mechanically and manually controlled traffic signals were placed at the corner of Swanston Street and Collins Street."
I saved this clip in an attempt to upscale it, colourise it and increase its playback rate. I'm still learning/learning as I go, so its not 100% but feel free to check it out. I have credited back to this video. There is a compare version to in the description/end of the video th-cam.com/video/D4SgvLK7VlY/w-d-xo.html
No fat people and everybody walks to the left side ,, I wonder when people stopped bothering to do that , theyre just like ants on an antnest ,, all crashing into one another these days
Can I use some parts from this video for my school work? I'll credit it at the end
Must have been filmed in 1930 or later as Collins Street replaced their cable trams for electric in 1929.
It's 1929 my friend....
So beautiful! When eveyone dressed up to go to town.
@reena mola People didn't dress up to look pretty for attention it's just that standards were different then.
this must have been filmed in the 1930's has we did not have traffic lights until 1933 in Australia

Explore that anomaly my friend, find more footage from earlier if you can. Then search "Great Tartaria".
