      Marvel fired the director during editing, and had the film re-edited with minor reshoots. Marvel felt the film the director made was too dark for the MCU. The director has said this publicly, this isn’t my theory or opinion.

    This is how it shouldve been in the movie we didn't get enough depth from Odin's character...Odin could've killed them both easily with his power, Thanos never attacked Asgard because of Odin , Surtur was afraid if Odin and Hela was trapped because of Odin.
    ...They really wasted one of the most powerful beings in the MCU

    • @hamsterminator
      @hamsterminator 3 ปีที่แล้ว +96

      Not showing Odin being all powerful in the films isn’t them doing him a disservice. They can’t have him upstage Thor in his own movie, so either they nerf him or they simply don’t show him kicking ass so that his power is left unquestioned. They imply how powerful he is all the time- I think it’s better to leave it at that instead of having him engage in some CGI explosionfest.

      it is probably disney wanting to create an atmosphere were it doesn't embarass powers of black widow and other humans, because they probably don't know how to use these human characters, they think just because their universes are connected each hero must be equaly as powerful, like stfu black widow is a human spy assassin and mostly does her mission in stealth, why tf is she standing in the middle of newyork alongside thor and hulk wrecking havoc, although that shot was pretty damn iconic, i don't think it would have been better to give human characters more of a human role and powerhouse more of a powerhouse... if this wasn't bad enough the 2020 video game made human characters = hulk and thor like wtf?

      @krishkrish8213 20 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @LeoPark-v8f First of all, we don't see odin enslaving anyone. We do see him conquer realms or make war with them, which makes sense for asgardians and warrior people. We also know and have seen that the frost giants were on a war path across the realms during the great war, and they were about to destroy the earth. Interesting note for one Odin doesn't need anyone gold or wealth in the comics. Thor, as king, had the power to magically restore all of asgard wealth using his powers , and Odin did also create mankind.

Have a heart he does care about his family. Deeply is that he can't show weakness because he is a king and king's showing weakness leaves to their enemies a chance to strike, Plus I love Malekith's Voice cause it shows more debt and he's completely different from whatever from everybody else and why he's the leader of the dark elves.

    I believe there's a much deeper meaning into what Malekith was actually saying. I've had this theory that Malekith actually had a family (meaning a wife and kids) and they were taken away from him (meaning that they were killed in cold blood in front of him). This theory actually much darker that Bor, at the time of his reign, became very greedy and power hungry during him time. At some point he invaded Svartalfheim (aka the Dark World) to eradicate them, because he believed they stood in his way of ruling the nine realms. Unfortunately, Malekith's family was among those who were killed during the attack. Becoming distraught and didn't want to bear the pain any longer, Malekith went into the mountains to die alone after he lost everything to Asgard. That's until he discovered the Aether (aka the Reality Stone). That's the real reason he planed to use it during the convergence. To show those what it actually means to live in the darkness like he did after losing what he cared for in life. He wanted to cause pain and suffering to Odin like his father Bor did to him and killed Frigga as an example of that pain and suffering he endured at the hands of Asgard. Malekith's the most tragic character of all in the MCU and you all are just ignoring what he was actually doing. To save his people from the brink of extinction...

    Honestly Odin is the only character I can't understand in the MCU...he's so powerful yet doesn't really show his powers,all we see him do in the MCU is be a king,be a vad father figure,go Odinsleeping and makind dumb butt desisions,I feel like gus character's got so much more dept than that,yet the MCU isn't showing it to us

    • @lmtlsak1829
      @lmtlsak1829 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      At that point Odin was too powerful for the mcu. And they can't show him one shotting a planet or something without undermining thor especially since it's a thor movie. So what they can do is either nerf him or don't show him fighting at all. That's what they did they kept mentioning how powerful he is how he defeated and banished hela, how he conquered the nine realms but they never showed him kicking butt. Odin's powers would fit in the current mcu but they killed him before that. They could still show flash back scenes of him maybe a what if..? Episode that would be cool

    Actually pretty happy that they scrapped that scene, it doesn't make any sense that Odin doesn't just erase them with Gungnir, the film version where he and Thor simply come too late is much more emotionally impactful, if either one of them would have been there it would have been over for Malekith, and imagine if both arrived earlier how that would have ended

    Wednesday - Odin. Odin is also known by the name Woden aka Wodens Day

He is one heluva Allfather among Marvel Deities
    But we saw Frigga there, with her Asgardian sabrelights she disarmed Malekith as if he is a rookie, and also she is an Asgardian eldritch witch she knows anything about multiverse judging by she recognized fat Thor is not from her timeline, so that's where Loki's daggers skill came from...

    I sometimes rewatch the Malekith scenes, cause it's the only good staff in the movie, the actor is so capable and talented, he created a character with full history and goals, while having seconds of movie time, with just a couple of words (or even without). It is so sad such a talent was not given more time, and even this moment was cut off. All other people in this scene look like freaks, - a useless king and a guy in read cloak with an instrument. I never could even take this seriously, - starships and swords, right.

    Although this is awesome to watch but actually Odin wouldn't do this. It's a foolish work. Just because Malekith said that he will either take the Ether or kill Frigga you shouldn't think that letting Frigga die will stop him from taking the Ether. He will obviously still come to take the Ether. Plus Odin could obviously stop them effortlessly. It's no difficult work for him. This is a stupid scene. Glad it was deleted.
