De Zerbi is revolutionizing the game. It's a post-highpress era, Sir Alex Firgisun, Benitez and Ancelotti system of direct-quick attack was destroyed by high quality players in one team like Real Madrid's Glagticus and Milan to a certain extent. Pep's quick ball recovery and possession at Barća destroyed by Mourinho, Simeone, Conte, Alegeri (parking the bus). Then Comes Zidan who invented the Idea of marking the pivot (or any one who has the responsibility to bring the ball and connecting the lines). Next Pep revolutionized his ideas in the Prem by All-at one (high pressure, High quality players, possession priority, midfield is the real battle). Now we have De Zerbi who is basically anti-modern football. his football is a hyper-systematic, it's a functionalist football where high pressure costs you the match

Hi mate your tactical analysis is spot on and the tactic obviously will be a big success as most of your tactics.. im in milan save 3rd season with the best 4 2 3 1 system i have used here and 3-4 years im playing this game. Is your Hansi Flick. De zebri is one manager who i respect as tactician and i like his football from his sassuolo days. You put me in delimma to continue my successful career in milan with your overpowered Hansi Flick or to go de Zerbi. Lol😅

@@sapreps6740 mate I used galway united in the Irish second tier, they are favourites to go up, it’s not like I used someone like Wrexham. I literally played normal no resets, same tactic wasn’t as good in the first division but still got me a 3rd place finish

Start with default against most teams apart from like your city's/liverpools mate yeah :)

The tactic is nice mate its have a clear style of play, but thats not how De Zerbis Brighton playing. In your tactic Mitoma and March using the channels in the build up play and transitons with this narrow TI and PI, but in reality they hugs the lines. And only in the final third they cutting. On the left Estupinan underlapping Mtioma a lot. On the right side Solly March hugs the line to open space for Gross who attack the box from deep and Milner is more likely like a WB -d who make late runs at the final third not bombing like Estupinan all day long or when Veltman plays in that LB role he is more like a third CB. The LCB Dunk dribbles more to progress the ball into opposite half so thats correct. The striker Welbeck /Fergusen has a more deep role in the final third which make space for Joao Pedro/Enciso to execute . So I think if you want to exactly recreate De Zerbi style on the left side should be WB-A with underlap instruction and IW with stay wilder PI on the right IW or W ( I find that if you put a player with cut inside trait as a Winger, he hugs the line and also dribbles and cutting at the final third when posses the ball) and WB-D. At the center of the back and mid. everything is nice and finaly SS and PF-s or TF-s combination. To recreat this traditionall swaps between Welbeck/Ferguson and Joao Pedro/Enciso. Also Brighton stretching the opposition, so play more wilder is the right choice. But thats only if you try to recreat the exact same style of Brighton. However nice tactic and nice content. P.S. Sorry if a made mistakes, but English is not my native language.

Must say I don’t usually comment on these videos but I used these tactics with Notthingham Forrest in my online save with my boys and finished 2nd cause absolute havoc in my first season and won manager of the year

Appreciate this, I’ve been trying to make my own 4-2-3-1 tactic but I just can’t seem to score goals, I’m gonna use this and see how it goes
and by the way, is the intensity supposed to be this high? I feel like my players will be knackerd by half time using this lmao, and if they are how do you deal with this?
It is meant to be this high, unfortunately you will suffer from player fatigue.
My go to rule is rotation, training and rest mate
@@JoshDaly most of my players have decent natural fitness anyways but even with mid intensity tactics I’m picking up a lot of knocks, and also I had a virus recently and I treated them at the club and like 10 players got sick 😭. Not a period for me rn to be using this lmao

I have no doubt this tactic will perform well but do you think it accurately represents how brighton play? I must admit at first glance it just looks like a lot of the good "meta" instructions. A few things stand out to me like IW with stay narrow? Brighton's wingers average positions are always very wide, Solly March in particular is usually found hugging the touchline. And the PF+AM combo seems off too, unless you're pairing it with player instructions. Both those roles need to be dropping, at times, really quite deep. The PF isn't really going to be doing that at all surely. When I watch Brighton it often feels like both of those positions are there to facilitate the wingers and link up with the defense.
And why have you gone with trap inside exactly? I might've missed the explanation in which case I apologize. When going over the defense around minute 2 it sounded like they're should've been graphics on screen? Brighton had the fourth best xGA last year. I also feel like overlap left+right feels off. Seems like the wingers should be looking to run at defenses rather than wait for their respective fullbacks to overlap and play them in; feels a bit counterproductive with the higher tempo.
Really enjoy the videos! Hope this doesn't come off combative etc, just very interested in replicating brightons play in-game and I came to some different conclusions.
I could not agree more, that being said Josh tactics are not for the football nerds like us, it's more for the people who like to download tactics, plug and play and enjoy a somewhat themed tactic :) A thing is doing verry well i might say
Yeah, I'd suggest you use a 4-2-4 with a complete forward on support and a deep lying forward on support as your front 2. You could have two inverted wingers out wide and have a midfield of Volante on support and Deep lying playmaker on support or defense. Back 4 of two wingbacks on support and have a BPD with CB pairing. Sweeper keeper on support too. Works just like how Brighton play.
I definitely agree while its a good tactic it's not real a true Brighton recreation also they like to bate the opposition to press, they will slow the game down when the defenders are on the ball let the opp press them which then leaves space and then they quickly move it forward into the same, often to one of the forwards that had dropped deep, im not too sure how to do this in FM was thinking obviously distribute to CBs then maybe have some slight time wasting so they take their time on the ball a bit more with a standard tempo but then actually have a standard or even slightly direct passing which i know isn't quite a possession obsession instruction but it might work

I simply load in 3 tactics into the tactic screen mate and you will have. 1,2,3 option soon as you click between them it changes!

Tried it with Brighton over 3 seasons and got fired terrible
Not good to hear! Let me know what changes you made when noticing the results and I’ll happily suggest some possible tweaks if you ever wanted to use it again but in a different save. Had so much good feedback from this via twitter and discord so weird to see! ❤️

I tried tweaking mentality’s and adapting slightly to bigger teams like slowing the pace down witch helped but played the normal bottom half of the table with the base guidance and drew or lost most only beat Southampton and Everton the rest of the teams were draws or losses. Love the tactics normally and I hate to slate it but it just didn’t work

Tend to focus on other elements of tactics mate like the analysis at the start for example. No one has ever asked since I stopped, if it gets enough demand I’ll happily re Include them. I always like to keep the videos not to long, as believe it or not having 30+ min tactic videos would get me some hate haha
Why use tackle harder so much? I see it a lot on tactics made and shown on TH-cam
Honestly mate it works really well it makes players a lot more aggressive and in this match engine passive players is a real issue. I would say use it but if your getting to many bookings take it off some of the players :)
