- The opening of former N'SYNC member, Joey Fatone's, new restaurant in Florida Mall sent people running for cover. Six balloons were popped to test the fire alarm system inside the new hot dog eatery called Fat One's, but shoppers mistook the sounds for gunfire and went running. Nine people were injured in the stampede to avoid what they thought was an active shooting situation. The mall remained open and was operating as usual after the incident. #InsideEdition

This happened to me at Disney Land in France, more specifically Disney Village. An escalator malfunctioned and someone fell. The noise it made, made people think it was a gunshot/terrorist attack. People ran, screamed and we all guided inside multiple restaurants for cover. Very scary experience. I was with an exchange student from Germany, she screamed and cried thinking she was going to die, I stayed calm but she very much didn’t. Think that traumatized her lol

Or just take an empty cardboard juice carton, smash the top closed, place it on the floor, and stomp it down with your foot. THAT sounds a lot more realistic than a balloon and is a whole lot louder.
