Lifehouse are an underrated band that added their hearts to the long and wonderful canon of rock music. Much like Hootie and the Blowfish they were washed away by music executives waiting for the next 'big thing.' Many of us are still here listening after all these years 🙂
Gotta go back and relieve those 1996-2004 middle school/high school moments that meant everything.heart aches , friends, getting into trouble, running into music events n those first times we meet our soul mates of that time .
For some people it’s the Kennedy assasination ,for others the moon landing, even John Lennon’s death, but not you for you it was the night Matchbox 20 played on Leno. (I know it’s life house it’s a joke...calm down)
I freaking remember watching this in my bedroom in highschool while doing homework...FLASHBACK! (It's the red shirt!) I think this is when I actually became obsessed with them!
Just have to say again: this is by far, the most outstanding performance of this song I have found on youtube!! I have the albums on my computer, and I even prefer this version over those as well. It just... has a lot of feeling in it, (not that it doesn't always) but just the right kind of soft feeling and mood in the beginning. I also noticed how Jason almost never looks the same in any two live performances or videos, also how he tends to sing this song differently when he's in the moment.
My favorite music personality above all is the country group Lonestar. They pretty much only sing love songs that move you. I have always said that Lifehouse is Rock n Roll's Lonestar. These guys are amazing.
man this is an old recording! :) they have grown so much as musicians and Jason as a singer. so proud of them! they have some AWEsome new songs on the new album. one of my fave bands!!
Never heard this before, I mean played live. I loved the studio version, my old band we covered it way back. This version is better than the studio IMHO.
@@TheCentralflorida Yes, ever since Black Keys and Mumford & Sons debuted their styles, everything after them has been copycat, and alternative is now indie-hipster anthems. 90s alternative/grunge was a really special era, a lot of us miss that era. The days of a distorted guitar are fading....fast....
@@fritzschultze6538 they definitely ARE recognized, idk what you are talking about. This song and “You and Me” were 2 of the most played songs of the 2000s
Desperate for changing, starving for truth I'm closer to where I started, I'm chasing after you ..I'm falling even more in love with you Letting go of all I've held on to...I'm standing here until you make me move I'm hanging by a moment here with you......
@Chadgervais Totally true! I'm not trying to sound patriotic but I think after 9/11, we lost the perception of life we had back in the '90s if a relatively safe and fun life. Everything from post-9/11 to me is either boring or just lame/bad. Again I'm not trying to start a political conversation, I'm just stating my POV from someone who was a teen in the '90s through the early 2000's (1997-2001 to be exact). Anyhow, LONG LIVE ALTERNATIVE ROCK!!!
Great performance....and before auto-tune microphone technology really kicked in about 7-10 years later that you see in use on a lot of the late night show performances during that period and after.
that's sergio andrade, he's lifehouse's original basist and founding member, i feel like your dissing the band by putting up ignorant comments like this. true that they have a new bassist now, but you are looking at vintage lifehouse right here.
God... WHY am I so attracted to him right there??!! (I'm straight too!!) Oh, and somewhere in the middle he resembles Val Kilmer A LOT for a moment, and most likely others if you focus. I'm a totally straight male with zero chances of bi-curiosity, and I'll be the first to agree that he is incredibly sexy in this video. His hair helps a lot too.
@TheForgotenDemon I wish I could've found such an awesome live performance of All In from the album smoke and mirrors...I've been searching for it desperately coz I'm totally crazy about that song but I was not able to find even a single good performance :(
I was there, live in the studio with my future wife. Dennis Leary was a guest and Bill O'Reilly
Jason Wade looks like 2000s perfection here. His hair *chefs kiss* his stance and broad shoulders *chefs kiss* He just looks like he smells good.

Great song, band. Songs had emotional meaning at that time. Still feels new too me.
Ahhh, the first 'underrated' post. There's always someone...
Song was immensely popular. One of the great songs of the time.
I just realized that im old :( nostalgia...
😭💔
We all get there
Both music and Tonight shows were way better back in the early 00s

One of (maybe THE) best live performance of this song that I've seen yet from Lifehouse, great job here!
Voice with built in reverb
when he was younger! Love his voice (and look!)
Perfect! That clean sound!
Dude this is like WAYYYY in the beginning when they were still promoting No Name Face! That's crazy old! Thank you so much for uploading this!
Classic Lifehouse, love it!!

This right here…….this is age appropriate music and Sergio is slamming that bass!
If anyone was curious this would have been 2000 as the album was released then. Pre 9/11, when life was good.
We’ve got pre 9/11 and pre covid now. I miss this 90s 😢
He could star in the next fast and furious and take over Paul Walker's role
Stale Pickle
Yes yes.
He also reminds me of Chris Hemsworth in the face as well as the hair style.
More Ryan Gosling if he was coked up in a band

Why doesnt this have more views?
Best era 1999 / 2000s
2020 and it still rocks 🤘
Wow, the only remaining original member of the band is the Drummer, besides Jason. How bands change through the years.
Eddie Alvarez Rick wasn't the original drummer, Jon diff Palmer was the drummer on no name face.
Bryce has been there since the third album
Great performance
When bands used to rock. I mean really rock, with loud guitars ,solos and distortion. Not this Imagine Dragons mandolins and ukeleles's bullshit.
Wait....you think Lifehouse and Imagine Dragons are world's apart?
