    The video is good but female power connectors should be used on battery side to avoid any chance of short circuit and also one thing is lacking that connections to the BMS should be in video for better understanding.

    Never put the male end of the connector to the battery.
    Always female end.
    Otherwise there is risk of short circuit and fire.
    VERY BASIC

    Friend, excuse me for telling you, but laptop batteries are not going to be used to run a drone, at least one without brushes, since it needs a constant ratio to keep the motors running, I tell you from experience, no Because of bad vibes, your connections are good but if you are going to use those batteries to fly a drone they will only make it start for a second and it will suck all the current in the blink of an eye. You need a special 18650 for that.

    Can a poor spotweld cause a drone to brown out in flight? I got my nickel strips to stick to the battery cells, but I didn't see any sparks. I powered my spot welder circuit board from a jump box that's used for jump starting cars. The Molicel 18650 2800mah 35a discharge batteries should be plenty to power my 7 inch drone for a cruise flight.

    hy i've got some sony murata 3100 mah 35A curent cells to make a 6s2p pack , my concern i about how many nichel strips do i need to get 35A per series pack (35 per pack will lead to 70A discharge total 2p config), i have some 0.2x8 mm pure nichel strip that i've heard and tried that it doesn't like to stack multiple layers, and some nichel plated steel that weld better more buttery. Are 4 layers enough ? should i alter the strips to have steel nichel steel nichel ... also i think it is better to connect the cells in parallel using the strips, at each joint of 2 parallel cells instead of just at the end like if they were 2 separate packs, it should help with balance, but i ask just to be sure. Also even if i stack enough strips on top of each other, all of them will interact with the cell using the tiny spot welds of the first strip that conects all of them to the battery trough it, are they gonna be enough, those spot welds ?

    Never solder the male connector on a battery, should be female connectors only.

  • @angelofmusic477
    @angelofmusic477 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Using male of a Dean connectors at battery sides is waiting for a accidental short to happen. I have been an electrical engineer for years and flying electric aircraft for years. That is not a recommended practice to solder a male dean to the batteries side. The female Dean is always on the battery sides and the male Dean at the esc. Similarly the male bullet connectors are always soldered to the motor side and female bullets to the esc for safety reasons. The soldering order are for safety reasons. My advice is for you to re-do your video and repost.

    • @angelofmusic477
      @angelofmusic477 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@cruger28 layout is the same but the wrong gender connector are assigned to the wrong apparatus. The female connectors are always soldered to the battery terminals and male to the ESC terminals. This is common sense because male connectors are expose conductor so should never be soldered to battery terminals when not in use.

    • @Kurumi_6_10th
      @Kurumi_6_10th 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      yeah, it depends on your needs, if you need to power something let's say that needs 12v you will need series to reach,
      if you need let's say 5v for usb powering you will need connecting with parallel to higher the Amps along a small 5v board to make those 3.7v into stable 5v.
      i don't recall the 5v board converter right now, they are so cheap, they are pretty common in power banks, and they work for charging 3.7v systems, usb power output as well protection from overcharge.

    • @Kurumi_6_10th
      @Kurumi_6_10th 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      hello, you have options,
      the first option:
      you will need to connect in series of 2 batteries, you will get an output 7.4v ...
      to charge 7.4v batteries' array you have as maximum 1.0v extra (8.0v) to charge within recommended voltage, but 3W 6V solar panel won't be suffice to charge...
      you need 2 same solar panels, connect them in series to get 12v...
      those 12v will need a 7.5v Li-ion charging module, you need to buy one. (7.5v is an standard voltage level and optimal in this case), all this for charging, and for outputting your desired 6v you need a 6v regulator in the output.
      second option:
      if you don't want to buy another solar panel, you can opt for connecting your batteries in parallel, getting 3.7v...
      then your 6v from solar panel is still very high than 3.7v you will need getting a 5v regulator (another standard voltage level) and also a 5v Li-ion charging module for your batteries.
      it's recommended since you will have more Amps for more time, i wish you have the grasp of my idea, i worked in something similar, but i used phone charger, i did a power bank.
      good luck :)
