Thanks to you as well Mike. Your nice fish really make for a nice package to present the flies.

I keep getting these odd shapes, mohawks and generally "not round" eggs.
I'm using the pen cap, the straw, no tool, orientating the material in-line, cross ways... you name it!
Ugh...it can't be that hard to tie an egg!! LOL
Could it be too much foam? Not enough?!

Chimo, I have something for you to watch. Bucktailjigs on here just posted Peter Thompson, the author and illusrater of North American Game Fish. It's a beautiful 5 minute piece filmed and narrated by Al and James Daher. That's the owners of Mickey's, the bait & tackle AND fly tying shop I've told you about and I've shopped there since I was a kid. Thompson also tyes nice classic feather wing streamers and talks about the history of Atlantic Salmon here in Lake Ontario and our Finger Lakes as well as his paintings and thoughts on fishing with Al adding his thoughts in the narration. The channel also has a 2 part tutorial on Thompson tying a classic streamer. He has some unique techniques. Thought you'd enjoy it as it's about things you like. Cheers👍😎

Chimo Joe. I added this to my Feb Fly Reel. Thanks for the heads up on the video, really wonderful. I also see a streamer 2 part I'll need to have a look at. th-cam.com/video/zUS0t8Y3PJQ/w-d-xo.html

Piscator Flies I know! Not bad production for a couple of old bait chuckers eh? I have to learn to type those links. Glad you liked it.

Chimo Darren, well I hopped a shuttle, the Tesla wouldn't start. Either gamma rays fried the circuits or it ran out of juice. Ya think the guy would've left a charge station up there! Brit Floyd was great, SP theme was shocking 😱 but funny😉
Great looking egg, it's so round! My eggs look like domes. Took quite awhile to get anywhere near round. Using the right yarn helps, I started with thick craft yarn. Glo bugs yarn worked better. So does technique and practice as you said. I've used it for bodies on my "tips over" humpies with good results. Combed out wings on streamers too.
So what do you find about McFly foam, you didn't finish? I've never used it. If I'm not mistaken it's one of three yarns available besides Egg and Glo Bugs. You ever use GB's bling or micro? I picked up some on sale to use on other patterns, experimenting. They're UV enhanced now. I've made egg clusters with mini pom poms threaded on mono then lashed to a hook. Hard not to stick a finger though.
Thanks again, love this collaboration! BTW you look up 🍔🚂? Let me know... Cheers 🍟

You would think they could have included a few Solar City solar panels to run the thing...
The McFly Foam is denser than the egg yarn, so you can fit more on the hook and tie it securely. That allows it to flare a little more. You can't really comb the McFly Foam yarn, but you can trim it a little more if you need. Tieing it bottom and top also helps to round it out. I add the glued front and back as the water can more the Mcfly foam if it isn't secured.

Why am I having such an issue creating the top and bottom section? It’s hard to separate them how you have them any pointers? When I tie it it’s just a big ball and it’s hard to tell what’s the top or bottom...

Are you using McFly Foam? I find it works the best for eggs and makes a nice dense fly. If you wet the sections and twist them a bit, it might help keep them better separated until you cut them. I didn't mention it in the video, but I pull and twist the McFly Foam just before I tie it in. I think it helps align the fibers and pack them tighter. Hopefully, that helps you. Cheers

@@PiscatorFlies thank you for your response! I just started tying so I’m still learning but I will try what you suggested. I’m sure it’ll get better with time thanks for your video it’s my favorite one so far!

@@Detroit3Pistons That's great. Just keep at it and keep tying, you'll improve. The fish will still like your flies even if they aren't perfect. ;) I was also going to mention that you should watch other tyers on youtube for the same patterns to pick up little tips. Cheers
