I left the church in TX you were talking about with the young man who felt called to start a church 5 months ago. Thank you for shining light to what was twisted and manipulated so many would feel bad. This was needed!
This is good. Gives me clarity and even more peace on the decision to leave our previous church. * No accountability for Pastor * Man pleasing leadership * Misappropriation of funds Wow mind blown
Thank you so much! I took notes on this and am going to share this with my husband and family who have had questions on this topic. What a clear presentation. Such a blessing!
I left the church you are talking about where the pastor refused to listen to you and their pastor. So many have left their church, hurt. When a church is started in rebellion, witchcraft rules over it. 😭 Praying for them and that they will receive the mercy of the Lord and hear the direction and correction of the Lord and others He sends their way. I had a dream about them this week and they were still refusing to sit at the table with people that were trying to speak wisdom and correction to them. 😭😭😭
Preach it- with over 25 years of ministry experience and have been on both sides of this issue. I have learned many lessons along the way. Thank you, Landon, for capturing the essence of this topic. Keep up the great work 🙏
I really appreciate you discussing this. I will say I was the blessing but it wasn’t taken well. I did attempt to ask for wise counsel on multiple occasions because I was shocked by God’s word in moving me. I just wanted to triple check I was truly hearing from the Lord. He had begun to separate me from this church well before I left. I tried to cling to what I knew closer to the end of my time there. But it just didn’t feel right. Finally he spoke to me and said “if you let go, and let me lead you, I will bring you back later and you will have matured.” This doesn’t mean I go back as a member though he showed me but just as a member of the body of a Christ. I still don’t quite understand what he meant but I’m not worried about it. I love my old church and actually found MC by the weirdest way possible… and even wrestled with if this was where he was truly leading me. I now know it is where he was sending me in complete certainty. I am just so thankful for the lessons and understanding he gave me through this process. ❤
my church is neither unbiblical, unethical, or immoral but i do not feel like i’m growing spiritually there. i love my church and believe we do family so well but i also believe that we put people before the pursuit of God. i got asked by my worship pastor if i think i should find another church and that i should pray/fast on this decision from hearing from the Lord so i won’t be held back in anyway 14:39 I want to learn loyalty well, I believe I am a loyal person but all glory to God that i choose Him over everyone including my pastors - they wouldn’t want it any other way. I want to find a church that builds around the presence of God and not the presence of our comfort. We love people soooo well, I was loved so well. I want and need Jesus so much more than this
To get a biblically sound + spirit filled church is like finding a needle in a haystack in 2025 in Florida. That’s a marriage of Baptist + Pentecostal that’s run by young people to create “culture”. 😜 Culture is usually home groups for discipleship based on the mission/vision of leadership that creates a sense of community to grow out of shallow into deeper friendships. There are surprisingly a large amount of churches that have discipleship classes in the church building, so you lose that intimate community feel for shallowness. You’ve hit the jackpot if they have an additional school that’s part of the church for children of all ages through high school + and a college leader ship school for adults. Again, also a needle in a haystack.
No lots of churches like this. One just has to think out of the bo and be humble, lot for a good AG, or balanced Pentecostal churches, Anglican or Presbyterian churches tend to be solid as well. Even C&MA churches can be a good option as well
Wow on the foot washing meaning of before betrayal. Answered why God me wash feet of dying sister and what happened immediately after that by her daughters.
How do I let my church (MC) know about a dangerous person? Who would I tell about this person? Do I tell my serve team leaders? Do I go up to you or your wife and let you guys know? Do I tell another Paster?
What if the church is healthy, your growing there but they want to important some safety standards that are completely impractical and a couple of them might be against the law? Is it unethical, even if the new safety regulations aren't illegal, just highly impractical and full of nonsensical standards?
I am afraid that your view of primary, secondary and tertiary doctrinal issues. Is very naive and even itself a particular theological stance that is not neutral. For example how could the Lord's supper be a secondary issue? It's been a primary issue all through church history...likewise female ordination...or ecclesiology. All of these issues are in fact "primary" And have been considered so for two thousand years.
there’s grace for that. it’s a good thing the word of God doesn’t spare anybodies feelings. The right and God honoring way is the right way and anything else is sin! but there’s grace! praying for you bro am in a season of transition i’m praying i honor the Lord and my pastors. I want to be a good steward

sounds like an opportunity to leave healthy!
When you were fired did you automatically leave the church? How did you transition from that?
This kind of stuff is the difference between true spiritual maturity and spiritual immaturity.

Yes. Thriving close community + sound doctrine + not quenching the Holy Spirit… hard to find

O my goodness how I wish you’d plant a church in Colorado Springs CO!
