Before the last patch defending was much way better After this patch they have weakened defending and now even if you are close to a striker no matter how good your defender is the defender will hardly tackle the player And that's what made me angry the game was fine then why the hell did they ruin it ?? One of my most hated situations is when you’re literally an inch away from the ball while defending (jockeying) to intercept and the crab walking-stare animation let’s the ball roll right by towards your opponent. Almost always 80+ min when you’re ahead. P.S. you should delve further into scripting in the 80th minute when the crowd gets loud and martin tyler openly admits the “fans pushing them on”

Make a vid about how you can tackle but STILL the opponent gets the ball back... Also how defenders can recover so quick after missing a tackle, and you winger with 99 pace still will get caught down the wing... if you need content for that, i can collect for ya np
to be fair the first point is admittedly better than in any previous fifa, i remember before they changed it almost allthe tackles just bounced away for a 50/50
How quickly attackers win the ball back after a good interception also, the amount of games where my opponents neymar has had a better defensive display that my entire defence. You're spot on though you're punished for ever pressing the tackle button.

Again spot on with this video, loving the content. The amount of times I manually try to cover the passing lane with my cb's and I over shoot it is insane. It is almost as if the pass is slowed down and your cb's movement is sped up on purpose so you will miss time the interception 10/10 times.

OMG!!! passing a through ball to the exact point where player, keeper and the ball intersects... that is absolutely one of the top 3 reasons I stopped playing this game. There is no way this is unintended. 9 out of 10 this happens and that 1 time, your chance to score is 30%.
Oh man. You've captured exactly what goes on not just in FIFA (I presume, since I'm not a FIFA player) but in PES too! 100%. Konami have been doing this shit regularly since at least PES 2016. It's bad on Level 1 pass assistance, and frankly shocking on Levels 2 & 3. It's why I'm near exclusively a full manual player these days, because you get so much more satisfaction. Years of learning to pass and move, or in defence learning to anticipate and block lanes, gets punished _far_ less often!
EA are scums for releasing a new FIFA every year when every year they acknowledge that they don't know how to fix the inconsistent gameplay or balance their game in general. OK fair enough that you need more time, but then why are you releasing a new FIFA every year then? Fix the basic issues first, then focus on releasing a new version.
They do this shit on purpose so that players of lower skill levels have a chance of beating higher skill level players so that they keep playing the game and hopefully buy fifa points.
They release a game every year because of the cards in ultimate team. Everyone spends money on the cards throughout the year, and when a new game comes out they will spend more money on cards. They don't want you keeping the high rated players you get near the end of the game they want you to spend more money

U and inception are legends. I really appreciate that you are able to pick out the smallest of flaws that no one really picks but they make major differences. A good example of the level 2 passing errors can be found by playing one of the defending skill games. It’s the one where you are in-between two players and there’s a path that connects the two offensive players. They’ll just bend the ball all the way outside the path with ease so you can’t get it

I cancelled my Origin premiere in Nov 2019 because of how awful the gameplay was but I'm being forced to renew it this month because my old mates will be visiting for my birthday. Tbh if you want to pull of those simple through balls you need a end game player like Neymar and Messi. This game will always be a pay to win game. I noticed that endgame players always get locked on to lose balls. No matter if you read the pass and your clearly closer to the ball the end game player will always win the ball. The sad truth is that nothing will change till everyone stops spending money on the game. Really hope a group of people with billions of dollars realize that the fifa community would drop this game if they make a fun football game and easier way but fun way to obtain Messi, and Ronaldo without spending thousands of dollars.

im so glad i see a video addressing my issue with fifa 20. i cant intercept a ball to save my life this year. i have noticed that this problem is worse in FUT though. seasons doesnt seem as bad.
It's skill balancing to level the playing field to ensure people don't stop playing. As a good player it's absolute bullshit to basically play against the AI that is helping the weak players win.
Another great video. I hope EA watch your videos man. Only way they will get a clue. I know there is an ai pass assist option in settings. I wonder what passing is like with this off. I get screwed 3-4 a weekend with a nutmeg as im cutting out passing lane or my defender blocks a shot, wont move for 3 seconds and they score on rebound right to them. It rewards more bad decisions than good.
It’s a clear tactic by EA to help lesser players. They have a similar thing in the UFC game where if you are too far to land a punch or kick, the game makes your fighter zip forward so that they can land it.
Italian Stallion they also have a thing as well that the game changes the strike thrown to track the opponent. So like if fighter A ducks, sometimes if fighter B throws a punch he will punch downward so that he hits him, rather than fighter B just choosing an uppercut or something. I mention this because it shows it’s an obvious design choice by fifa and not just bad design by chance.
Those mistakes be driving me nuts when they happen. Specially the last one is the one I usually make to get a goal but I be blaming on me thinking I was too close to the keeper but nah. Thanks for the explanations
I think the problem with your videos you rarely show when it happens for you but in this one you do which makes a good argument.. One of the biggest things I noticed is while it happens to my opponent a lot I was able back in fifa 16 and 17 to make it happen FOR ME. Yes I could increase the chances of it happening for me (just a theory but it worked as far as im aware) which involved a match long strategy and a few certain players who could consistently pull off unrealistic bs which gave me goals I didn't deserve whether I was winning or losing.
Someone finally did an analysis that properly describes why I have been absolutely losing my shit after dominating gameplay against some 8 year old on line who is just smashing the A button aimlessly while I patiently work the ball around to pick his defense apart and they just past straight through my midfield like it’s not even there
You are totally right about the massive impact of the AI on passes and how they modify the direction based on their own criterias. Sometimes even it goes against you. So many through passes go to the wrong place cause AI thinks there are more chances to reach the player even that the chances of goal are massive reduced
Finally subscribing. You are real one, because most TH-camrs all they do is making excuses for this company and poor excuse of a game. Good thing UK government is getting more involve. You should do a vid also on how in fifa 20 fouls aren't called and 95% of the time the opponent winning the ball was a clear foul. It's not even football anymore. The entire game is rigged, the rules of the game and input of the users are respected and applied based on what's going on during the game. For example if I'm leading 3-0 the game will fight me to not score another goal, shot power aren't registered properly on goal, and the game will always find a way to make me hit the post 2, 3 times even if it was just a tap in. Meanwhile, my opponent can score an offside goal the game would register it as a fair goal. EA is putting lots of effort yearly in this game to make it less and less skill based.

I’d expect myself to be better at football understanding than most kids I face who weren’t even born in 02... this explains why I wasn’t looking for game exploits, illogical passes... only playing a nice game of football, which never leads beyond g2... glad I haven’t touched fut20 after 19 was such a disappointment
Another great video. Keep up the good work. I have moved to PES recently and after about 50 games the conclusion for me is simple. If you want to master your drag back or short post goals, to overuse tricks or play pinball then yes, stay with fifa. But if you think more about playing football than playing the same patterns and watching similar actions/goals then PES should be for you.
Very clean presentation. In some areas of the pitch there is no difference if you just tap the button to pass the ball or hold it for 2 seconds. Same result. I have deleted ultimate team and will not get fifa 21. I have played every fifa title since 96, but the joy is gone. I love football and this game is a massive disrespect to the beautiful sport.

Sometimes, and it happens a lot of times, when your opponent is in your part of the field and attacking, and then you get the ball back in your box and you want to pass through let's say to your midfielder or so then the pass would be too long and get intercepted to prevent you to succeed your counter, no matter the pass stats of your player , and it happens so many times it's so annoying and frustrating, a game comes out and then they make up another game with updates it's fucking dumb as hell.
These videos are much better then those content idea videos, gameplay needs to be fixed including goalkeeping, passing and offensive and defensive AI to have a good football game
Whilst I agree with all of this, with the clip at 6:22, pulling a defender out of your back line and man marking a forward who’s onside is not the best way to defend in that situation. You rarely see defenders irl leave their line like this before a pass is even played. It’s actually very risky and if the offensive AI was half decent in this game, your opponent’s other forward would’ve completely screwed you with a diagonal run into the space you opened up
Ever noticed that some perfectly flat ground passes are rolling perfectly and Then pop up to give Messi a volley inside the box, like messi waved a wand to get it to bounce up when it rolled like bowling ball for 30 yards...
This is THE reason why I play carreer mode on all manual. I hate that the game decides these kinds of things for me. It took a lot of getting used to, but it's so much better.
Let me clarify this. When you press the Ground Pass you signal to the game who teammate you want to pass the ball to and NOT where you want the ball to go. The target of such a pass is a player, the target of a cut-through pass is a specific space and not a player. Back to the Ground Pass, what happens after you press for it, the game calculates your chances for advancing the play. If there are signifigantly more chances for you by using the player you signaled for but from another angle that the one you chose, the game goes on with ITS better judgement. This is the Passing Assistance that everyone has enabled by default. Even if you turn it off, it sets itself to ON for MP, simply because it has to balance the game and the other player surely has it activated.
The situation at 9 minutes with verratti happens almost 100% of the time in every game mode, FUT, career mode, pro clubs. The pass is always weighted to where the keeper just collects it no matter what power you apply to the pass.
Not to mention the unbelievable randomness of power levels. You slam down the triangle button for 2 hours and still the ball gets passed BEHIND my running player, or you just slightly touch the pass button and the ball gets kicked to the player on the other side of the pitch!
you honestly just described DDA i think. All these things go against me against lower skilled players who get wins off me. then there are some games where none of this happens and everything goes normal. deleted game today and had enough. started with me needing to snipe the CF-->CAM position modifier for 1 whole ass hour and then losing 2 games due to what you described.
Bro thank you for this. Truly, thank you. I feel like I’ve been dealing with this literally all year in Fifa and have been losing my shit trying to explain it to others. It has felt like a fraudulent and scripted game since day one. The point about it being impossible to cover both the obvious pass the opponent is clearly attempting to make and the flight path that EA give the ball is golden. It’s beyond true. The worst part about defensive AI is when (supposedly) world class defenders can’t be bothered to mark a player or an obvious through ball when they have acres of time and space to do so, but because you’re not manually dragging your CB into an interceptive position it will never happen. Unless of course if EA are on your side, to which your opponent won’t even be able to cross the half-line as your defenders are on top of every ball and player they need to be. You think to yourself, “YEA! This is how it should be!” Only to go into the next game to have your opponent be able to pass through, around, over, and under you in every which way. I genuinely think by far the most infuriating aspect of defending on this game is when you do everything right, the ball comes within a foot length away from your advancing defender, yet they do literally nothing. All they would have to do is stick their foot out, and easily capable of doing so too, but no. The pass must go through. The script must go on. Anyways... thank you for this video, it assures me that I’m not alone in dealing with this bullshit, and to not feel so fucking crazy 😂
Also, that last example of the “perfect” through ball opportunity happens EVERY game. My god it’s like it’s a literal script. *input* : through ball to open attacker making run * EA’s output* : overdo the pass regardless of how much power they gave it so it goes just within the keepers hands... I haven’t played FIFA in three weeks. Great content! I think EA sports should honestly create a game every 2-4 years. In between those years; fix bugs, glitches and poor in-game mechanics. Just do roster updates in the meantime. I know they won’t remove UT because it’s a big cash machine but it’s the least they can do.
You should’ve also talked about the broken scripted passes. I can’t count the amount of times I had my two strikers upfront and all I had to do was pass it to the other striker for an open goal, yet my player decides to pass it to the winger making it impossible to score.
To be fair, the TOP passers in the game (90+ passing) should be able to avoid your manual defending. If not, we can just remove the short passing and long passing stats from players/the game altogether.
Amazing video, mate. But you know what? FIFA community would still complain if these things were changed. If the passing is fixed, it would make defenses to be more consistent and harder to be beaten (if you know how to defend). I can only imagine people whining about that. "The gameplay is slow", "I can't even reach the box", "This game have become a defensive borefest", "Not fun" etc. I aggree with every single point in this video, but I don't really know if everyone does. In 5 years, there will be people saying that FIFA 20 was amazing and FIFA 25 is sh**, even though they complained about it all year long.
Honestly on Fifa 18 on classic defense you could have a teammate press the player with the ball just like in most Fifa I think but on fifa 20 it feels harder to do so for some reason

Once I was making a through ball to my striker and the pass could have gone through but the game corrected it so that it was an easy interception for the opponent.The worst thing about it was when I went into replay and looked over it again the game showed where my pass should have gone and I saw how much the game corrected it.
Same with shots too where the ball goes just wide but the arrow is clearly pointing into the corner of the net comfortably when you are using strikers with 99 finishing it should never miss but the game does everything it can to hold you back for some reason.
This video is so perfectly timed. My friend is a gold 1 player, im a gold 3/2 player. Everytime i play against him though, im clearly better. I was wondering how thats possible. His decisionmaking and passing is so obvious to me. I started watching him play weekend league via shareplay and then i saw how he always plays incredibly obvious and marked passed but they always connect which ends up in big chances for him. I even said: 'how do these passes always connect, your opponent is litteraly marking it'. Since fifa 16 ive always played more of a tiki taka style, so the triangle passing and stuff is marked into my brain. This explains why he gets gold 1 easily and i cant, even though i always beat him

In reality these through balls are the most frequent goal scoring opportunities we often see. In fifa the most frequent opportunities is Mbappe heel kicking in the entrance of the area and scoring after I had hit 3 post shots, yeah quite realistic this game is
The solution is obvious. Across all game modes - divs 10-7 should be any controls you want, divs 6-4 should be locked to at least semi assisted, and divs 3-1 should be locked to manual only. Good video but your point about manual "not translating" is just incorrect. You just need practice. I've played manual since FIFA 10 and it's the only way to create a skill gap. Keep at manual and you'll find it incredibly rewarding.

I played FIFA since 2008 and I said this already in Fifa 12 where I began to play Online = FIFA IS SCRIPTED
The Veratti pass is what me and my friend call the "just too far" pass as every time you try and do it, it goes just too far.

I've raged at the type of passes at 9:00 many times when through on goal. The player decides to just watch the ball run past them.
Those passes are destined for opponent goalkeeper to catch and your player to jump on. Happens too often, where its supposed to be a good play

How quickly attackers win the ball back after a good interception also, the amount of games where my opponents neymar has had a better defensive display that my entire defence. You're spot on though you're punished for ever pressing the tackle button.

Again spot on with this video, loving the content. The amount of times I manually try to cover the passing lane with my cb's and I over shoot it is insane. It is almost as if the pass is slowed down and your cb's movement is sped up on purpose so you will miss time the interception 10/10 times.

OMG!!! passing a through ball to the exact point where player, keeper and the ball intersects... that is absolutely one of the top 3 reasons I stopped playing this game. There is no way this is unintended. 9 out of 10 this happens and that 1 time, your chance to score is 30%.
By the way I quit the game in 19. I did not buy or play 20 at all.

Oh man. You've captured exactly what goes on not just in FIFA (I presume, since I'm not a FIFA player) but in PES too! 100%. Konami have been doing this shit regularly since at least PES 2016. It's bad on Level 1 pass assistance, and frankly shocking on Levels 2 & 3. It's why I'm near exclusively a full manual player these days, because you get so much more satisfaction. Years of learning to pass and move, or in defence learning to anticipate and block lanes, gets punished _far_ less often!
EA are scums for releasing a new FIFA every year when every year they acknowledge that they don't know how to fix the inconsistent gameplay or balance their game in general. OK fair enough that you need more time, but then why are you releasing a new FIFA every year then? Fix the basic issues first, then focus on releasing a new version.
at least every 4 5 years they should release a new one and just update each year the teams and bugs but they just care about money
They do this shit on purpose so that players of lower skill levels have a chance of beating higher skill level players so that they keep playing the game and hopefully buy fifa points.
They do it because their contract states they have to do an early release. If you keep buying their game then they'll keep releasing shit.
They release a game every year because of the cards in ultimate team. Everyone spends money on the cards throughout the year, and when a new game comes out they will spend more money on cards. They don't want you keeping the high rated players you get near the end of the game they want you to spend more money

The amount of times I've had a keeper literally running on the spot, or running on ice when I'm telling him to come out to 1 on 1 with a striker is unreal.
Sometimes the keeper is the fastest player in the game and sometimes he is sprint with all his might and not moving forward.
The real comedy is that people still pay for this game and then pay more for this game every month. EA isn't going to do shit until they stop taking all you idiots money.
U and inception are legends. I really appreciate that you are able to pick out the smallest of flaws that no one really picks but they make major differences. A good example of the level 2 passing errors can be found by playing one of the defending skill games. It’s the one where you are in-between two players and there’s a path that connects the two offensive players. They’ll just bend the ball all the way outside the path with ease so you can’t get it

I think on fifa passes lock onto a player, not a direction. Hence why in many cases passes are completely broken and rigged

Tbh if you want to pull of those simple through balls you need a end game player like Neymar and Messi. This game will always be a pay to win game. I noticed that endgame players always get locked on to lose balls. No matter if you read the pass and your clearly closer to the ball the end game player will always win the ball. The sad truth is that nothing will change till everyone stops spending money on the game. Really hope a group of people with billions of dollars realize that the fifa community would drop this game if they make a fun football game and easier way but fun way to obtain Messi, and Ronaldo without spending thousands of dollars.

im so glad i see a video addressing my issue with fifa 20. i cant intercept a ball to save my life this year. i have noticed that this problem is worse in FUT though. seasons doesnt seem as bad.

It's skill balancing to level the playing field to ensure people don't stop playing. As a good player it's absolute bullshit to basically play against the AI that is helping the weak players win.

Another great video. I hope EA watch your videos man. Only way they will get a clue. I know there is an ai pass assist option in settings. I wonder what passing is like with this off. I get screwed 3-4 a weekend with a nutmeg as im cutting out passing lane or my defender blocks a shot, wont move for 3 seconds and they score on rebound right to them. It rewards more bad decisions than good.
It’s a clear tactic by EA to help lesser players. They have a similar thing in the UFC game where if you are too far to land a punch or kick, the game makes your fighter zip forward so that they can land it.

Italian Stallion they also have a thing as well that the game changes the strike thrown to track the opponent. So like if fighter A ducks, sometimes if fighter B throws a punch he will punch downward so that he hits him, rather than fighter B just choosing an uppercut or something.
I mention this because it shows it’s an obvious design choice by fifa and not just bad design by chance.

It really does work in both directions. Assistance will mess up your own passes and laser like guide the opponents passes at the same time.
Those mistakes be driving me nuts when they happen. Specially the last one is the one I usually make to get a goal but I be blaming on me thinking I was too close to the keeper but nah. Thanks for the explanations
I think the problem with your videos you rarely show when it happens for you but in this one you do which makes a good argument.. One of the biggest things I noticed is while it happens to my opponent a lot I was able back in fifa 16 and 17 to make it happen FOR ME.
Yes I could increase the chances of it happening for me (just a theory but it worked as far as im aware) which involved a match long strategy and a few certain players who could consistently pull off unrealistic bs which gave me goals I didn't deserve whether I was winning or losing.
Someone finally did an analysis that properly describes why I have been absolutely losing my shit after dominating gameplay against some 8 year old on line who is just smashing the A button aimlessly while I patiently work the ball around to pick his defense apart and they just past straight through my midfield like it’s not even there
You are totally right about the massive impact of the AI on passes and how they modify the direction based on their own criterias. Sometimes even it goes against you. So many through passes go to the wrong place cause AI thinks there are more chances to reach the player even that the chances of goal are massive reduced

Finally subscribing. You are real one, because most TH-camrs all they do is making excuses for this company and poor excuse of a game. Good thing UK government is getting more involve. You should do a vid also on how in fifa 20 fouls aren't called and 95% of the time the opponent winning the ball was a clear foul. It's not even football anymore. The entire game is rigged, the rules of the game and input of the users are respected and applied based on what's going on during the game. For example if I'm leading 3-0 the game will fight me to not score another goal, shot power aren't registered properly on goal, and the game will always find a way to make me hit the post 2, 3 times even if it was just a tap in. Meanwhile, my opponent can score an offside goal the game would register it as a fair goal. EA is putting lots of effort yearly in this game to make it less and less skill based.
I think nutmeg passes are ok but they happen way to often for it to actually be fun

I started in fifa 02. I’d expect myself to be better at football understanding than most kids I face who weren’t even born in 02... this explains why I wasn’t looking for game exploits, illogical passes... only playing a nice game of football, which never leads beyond g2... glad I haven’t touched fut20 after 19 was such a disappointment
Another great video. Keep up the good work. I have moved to PES recently and after about 50 games the conclusion for me is simple. If you want to master your drag back or short post goals, to overuse tricks or play pinball then yes, stay with fifa. But if you think more about playing football than playing the same patterns and watching similar actions/goals then PES should be for you.

8:49 it's like trying to r1+triangle when you have a litteraly a freeway in front of you but it ultimately going on the opponents kepper, why but whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.... this game man... you can also talk about the weird thing they added to " counter counters" i have the origin access i played the game as soon as it was available for pc players, i'm sure this wasn't even in the geame , i'm gonna explain. Sometimes, and it happens a lot of times, when your opponent is in your part of the field and attacking, and then you get the ball back in your box and you want to pass through let's say to your midfielder or so then the pass would be too long and get intercepted to prevent you to succeed your counter, no matter the pass stats of your player , and it happens so many times it's so annoying and frustrating, a game comes out and then they make up another game with updates it's fucking dumb as hell.
Imagine you are passing the ball tow your teammate on the right wing and the game has decided to send it to the opposite direction
These videos are much better then those content idea videos, gameplay needs to be fixed including goalkeeping, passing and offensive and defensive AI to have a good football game
Whilst I agree with all of this, with the clip at 6:22, pulling a defender out of your back line and man marking a forward who’s onside is not the best way to defend in that situation. You rarely see defenders irl leave their line like this before a pass is even played. It’s actually very risky and if the offensive AI was half decent in this game, your opponent’s other forward would’ve completely screwed you with a diagonal run into the space you opened up
Another problem is how ppl spam circle to tackle without timing at all and still dont get punished
Ever noticed that some perfectly flat ground passes are rolling perfectly and Then pop up to give Messi a volley inside the box, like messi waved a wand to get it to bounce up when it rolled like bowling ball for 30 yards...
This is THE reason why I play carreer mode on all manual. I hate that the game decides these kinds of things for me. It took a lot of getting used to, but it's so much better.
Let me clarify this. When you press the Ground Pass you signal to the game who teammate you want to pass the ball to and NOT where you want the ball to go. The target of such a pass is a player, the target of a cut-through pass is a specific space and not a player. Back to the Ground Pass, what happens after you press for it, the game calculates your chances for advancing the play. If there are signifigantly more chances for you by using the player you signaled for but from another angle that the one you chose, the game goes on with ITS better judgement. This is the Passing Assistance that everyone has enabled by default. Even if you turn it off, it sets itself to ON for MP, simply because it has to balance the game and the other player surely has it activated.
The situation at 9 minutes with verratti happens almost 100% of the time in every game mode, FUT, career mode, pro clubs. The pass is always weighted to where the keeper just collects it no matter what power you apply to the pass.
Not to mention the unbelievable randomness of power levels. You slam down the triangle button for 2 hours and still the ball gets passed BEHIND my running player, or you just slightly touch the pass button and the ball gets kicked to the player on the other side of the pitch!

All these things go against me against lower skilled players who get wins off me. then there are some games where none of this happens and everything goes normal. deleted game today and had enough. started with me needing to snipe the CF-->CAM position modifier for 1 whole ass hour and then losing 2 games due to what you described.

Bro thank you for this. Truly, thank you. I feel like I’ve been dealing with this literally all year in Fifa and have been losing my shit trying to explain it to others. It has felt like a fraudulent and scripted game since day one. The point about it being impossible to cover both the obvious pass the opponent is clearly attempting to make and the flight path that EA give the ball is golden. It’s beyond true. The worst part about defensive AI is when (supposedly) world class defenders can’t be bothered to mark a player or an obvious through ball when they have acres of time and space to do so, but because you’re not manually dragging your CB into an interceptive position it will never happen. Unless of course if EA are on your side, to which your opponent won’t even be able to cross the half-line as your defenders are on top of every ball and player they need to be. You think to yourself, “YEA! This is how it should be!” Only to go into the next game to have your opponent be able to pass through, around, over, and under you in every which way. I genuinely think by far the most infuriating aspect of defending on this game is when you do everything right, the ball comes within a foot length away from your advancing defender, yet they do literally nothing. All they would have to do is stick their foot out, and easily capable of doing so too, but no. The pass must go through. The script must go on. Anyways... thank you for this video, it assures me that I’m not alone in dealing with this bullshit, and to not feel so fucking crazy 😂
Also, that last example of the “perfect” through ball opportunity happens EVERY game. My god it’s like it’s a literal script. *input* : through ball to open attacker making run * EA’s output* : overdo the pass regardless of how much power they gave it so it goes just within the keepers hands... LIKE IVE LITERALLY SEEN THAT EXACT ANIMATION A THOUSAND FUCKING TIMES. “EA Sports, It’s in the script.”

I haven’t played FIFA in three weeks. Great content! I think EA sports should honestly create a game every 2-4 years. In between those years; fix bugs, glitches and poor in-game mechanics. Just do roster updates in the meantime. I know they won’t remove UT because it’s a big cash machine but it’s the least they can do.
You should’ve also talked about the broken scripted passes. I can’t count the amount of times I had my two strikers upfront and all I had to do was pass it to the other striker for an open goal, yet my player decides to pass it to the winger making it impossible to score.

To be fair, the TOP passers in the game (90+ passing) should be able to avoid your manual defending. If not, we can just remove the short passing and long passing stats from players/the game altogether.
Amazing video, mate. But you know what? FIFA community would still complain if these things were changed. If the passing is fixed, it would make defenses to be more consistent and harder to be beaten (if you know how to defend). I can only imagine people whining about that. "The gameplay is slow", "I can't even reach the box", "This game have become a defensive borefest", "Not fun" etc. I aggree with every single point in this video, but I don't really know if everyone does. In 5 years, there will be people saying that FIFA 20 was amazing and FIFA 25 is sh**, even though they complained about it all year long.

One could argue that the passing assist is the players vision stat.
Honestly on Fifa 18 on classic defense you could have a teammate press the player with the ball just like in most Fifa I think but on fifa 20 it feels harder to do so for some reason

Once I was making a through ball to my striker and the pass could have gone through but the game corrected it so that it was an easy interception for the opponent.The worst thing about it was when I went into replay and looked over it again the game showed where my pass should have gone and I saw how much the game corrected it.
Same with shots too where the ball goes just wide but the arrow is clearly pointing into the corner of the net comfortably when you are using strikers with 99 finishing it should never miss but the game does everything it can to hold you back for some reason.
Simply because the executive and upper management have ordered the developers to program that way. Plain and simple.
This video is so perfectly timed. My friend is a gold 1 player, im a gold 3/2 player. Everytime i play against him though, im clearly better. I was wondering how thats possible. His decisionmaking and passing is so obvious to me. I started watching him play weekend league via shareplay and then i saw how he always plays incredibly obvious and marked passed but they always connect which ends up in big chances for him. I even said: 'how do these passes always connect, your opponent is litteraly marking it'. Since fifa 16 ive always played more of a tiki taka style, so the triangle passing and stuff is marked into my brain. This explains why he gets gold 1 easily and i cant, even though i always beat him

In reality these through balls are the most frequent goal scoring opportunities we often see. In fifa the most frequent opportunities is Mbappe heel kicking in the entrance of the area and scoring after I had hit 3 post shots, yeah quite realistic this game is

Honestly I am all for a completely manual passing game. The more control we players have, the more we can truly flow.
The solution is obvious. Across all game modes - divs 10-7 should be any controls you want, divs 6-4 should be locked to at least semi assisted, and divs 3-1 should be locked to manual only. Good video but your point about manual "not translating" is just incorrect. You just need practice. I've played manual since FIFA 10 and it's the only way to create a skill gap. Keep at manual and you'll find it incredibly rewarding.
