I need to talk about this game. First of all, I have played plenty of awesome games like Super Mario, UT, Counter strike, Warcraft, FIFA, PES, Call of duty, Civilization, Age of Empires, and so on. From PC, to Nintendo or from PSX to Xbox I can say that I am a regular player ( not professional and definitely not all knowing. However, we are now in 2020 with great games to play, amazing graphics that are almost real and with awesome game experience. But there is Kid Chameleon for Mega Drive. I remember playing this with friends ( we could not save the game) 2 or 3 days on a row ( leaving the console on, during nights). We would only stop to eat, drink and WC. We were never able to end it at that time and the game became a myth, a legend and one of the hardest ever. We were sure that Bloody Swamp was the last level lol. After emulators and roms the first one I choose was Kid Chameleon were I was able to save, practice and go through the end with sweat, tears and blood :). I would end the game in 30 minutes using the 100000 warp which saves us halfway or 2-3 hours if played without cheats, warps, or save. This happened maybe 6 years ago. This week I thought "I miss Kid Chameleon...let me play" thinking I was a pro...I had maybe 10-15 continues and maybe the same amount of anks (lifes). I passed Bloody Swamp level after a few tries, and lost everything in Ice God's Vengeance. The next day I tried again and I lost everything in a Elsewhere. How is this possible? I thought. I've beaten this game lots of times before so I played again and lost everything in The Final Marathon the level before the final boss Plethora ( we real fans know how insane is that level). So the next day remembering stuff I tried again...and again everything in The Final Marathon ( I used to do this level without losing a single life). Conclusion: 26 years after this this game came out still is one of the best ever in my opinion. I compare Kid Chameleon to the world of gaming, like old movies 2001 Space Odyssey, the Shining, the Thing, the Godfather or the Good, the Bad and the Ugly are for cinema. A true masterpiece that will never be forgotten. This game is about passion which we love, hate, we love to hate it and hate to love it. ..we laugh...we cry..and we go insane...because the game can be so simple and also so complex...it is like a rollercoaster...a mix of emotions. So in 18 February 2020 having the most modern games...I will TRY again to beat this game. After 3 losses this week ( in front of my young brothers and sisters who thought I was a pro in Kid Chameleon hahah ) and after feeling ( a good) embarrassment for failing, I need and I want to beat this game again lol. Words to describe this game: unreal, insane, long, short, simple, complex, hard, easy, maniac, pure...Emotions you feel: calm, angry, desperate, awesome, pro, noob...and sometimes feeling you are in other dimension :) :) Hope one day they make another Kid Chameleon but keeping is purity.

There's something like that called "Kid Chameleon X." Created by two guys who call themselves "the Evil Twins," and are members of the Kid Chameleon Wiki Forum community. However, you must have a Kid Chameleon ROM and an emulator to play it. There might be a demo thereof on You-Tube if you look for it.

I definitely disagree with the "one of the hardest games ever made" comment... I completed this when I was like 7 years old... and there are games that I've never completed as an adult. Kid Chameleon is fun though, I could probably play it today and still enjoy it more than a lot of recent games
Prolly because they dropped the ball. The idea was great but they just made a dumb mario clone. No battery backup or password system doesn't help either.
Don't think it was really that early, midway point through the Megadrive/ Genesis lifespan. Early games were Super Thunderblade, Space Harrier 2, Streets of Rage maybe. Kid Chameleon came from Sega's U.S. institute so that didn't get going until the Genesis became a market success.
Stuck at beginning of level 3! Try to bounce off those rubber blocks several times several ways to get the necessary momentum to make the jump necessary to reach the ledge. WTF! Just can't do it yet but so close yet you make it look so effortless. I'm playing it on the Genesis Mini that I got for Christmas.
this was a longggggggg game to finish without level skipping but very fun...i wish they would make a 3d remake like super mario it would be just as fun
Maybe it's "cheating" in the long play/Kid Chameleon world, but I thought the whole point of the diamonds was the Knight's extra hit point for 50 diamonds - transfers between characters and even the kid himself! Just don't die and you can rack up a total of 8 I think - makes it easier and way more tense at the same time as one death means going back to 3 hits per helmet.

Momentum based platforming, blocks that give you coins or power ups. It has that 90’s “edgy” thing going on and Sega always did like non linear level design, but yeah, looking at it now, this is Sega’s Mario.
I have a game on IPS, it is native to MEGA DRIVER, but the servant put it in IPS format, I urgently want to turn it into BIN to play on Genesis emulator, I can do ips for smc, easy to find tutorials, more the XIBATA of the ips for bin I don't think, I just find yours as bin for ISO, I don't want to play on computer, but on cell phone, how do I get BIN?
