A bit harder than I expected but it was fun to record. Especially the drums! :)

best part is, that solo was actually played by the actor. He's said to be a good guitarist who specialises in classical music, too!
I can't find confirmation of this. I watched his hands in the live scene (knowing they weren't recording the band actually live) and his hands looked pretty convincing like he knew what he was doing enough to fake it really well, but I have my doubts that he actually played on the official recording of the song. And the moment he begins floating another style of guitar playing kicks in and it actually sounds like Steve Vai.
@@TheArtofGuitar I wondered that. I assume they got someone else to write and record, and maybe videod it so the actor could do a decent impression
@@TheArtofGuitar Greensmith is the only musician of the trio, but he plays jazz he said in an interview and while it was difficult for him at the beginning to adapt to certain techniques he was surely favored by his previous background. There are some clips on tick tok or instagram of him playing metal and he became pretty good. I think the song is played by Morello himself tough but I could be wrong.
I don’t know if he actually played the solo but I also read that he was first a musician, classically schooled and this was his first movie ever…

Who else would love it if Mike made more videos about Sanctus maybe about the later years of the band what it was like near the end and why they broke up

The tapping part in this solo always sounded so out of place. This was a really fun film though. Nice job on the solo, you killed it!
I agree with the tapping part, yet it's kinda accurate for a beginner musician to try to throw in every trick into a song. I know I used to do that (with equally awkward results).

After all it's a Tom Morello (and D.B. Weiss) written song, I'll guess why it's pretty hard to play. It's hilarious that a classic metal song written by Morello sounds just like any song by Anvil. Would have suited just fine on their Pound For Pound album, LOL!

As a teenage thrash player/writer this solo is very believably written by a teenager the techniques would definitely make sense for someone like Hunter
