Prince Harry under fire for accepting prestigious Pat Tillman Award

- Prince Harry has come under fire for accepting the prestigious Pat Tillman Award which he will receive at the ESPYs.
The award is named after former NFL player Pat Tillman who left the league to fight in Afghanistan after the events of 9/11 and unfortunately died in service.
However, the mother of Pat Tillman has criticised ESPN for nominating Prince Harry as the recipient of the award.
“She was very honest … she didn’t think that Harry was a worthy recipient,” Skynews.com.au Digital Reporter Reilly Sullivan told Sky News Digital Presenter Gabriella Power.
“She thinks that there’s a lot of other people out there doing a lot of work with veterans and devoting their time to veterans who would be a better fit for the award.”

Wrong. He served as a pilot in Afghanistan in a war zone and came back to start a program for wounded veterans when he could have chosen any other place in the world and come home and done nothing. These are the facts.
We don’t get the choice on where we come from but we do get to choose our path in life. Seems Harry chose the more difficult and courageous path same as Pat Tillman.
I don’t think it’s that Harry was not deserving of this award I think that Mary Tillman thinks that there were others more deserving of this award than Harry.

It will be a huge mistake I imagine to continue with presenting this award to Harry. As far as Meghan is concerned, she decided her fate with her comments on the Oprah interview and trashed the RF with many comments that have since been found to be untrue. She and Harry caused a lot of stress on the family. Prince Philip and the Queen both in their later years having to deal with H&Ms war against the RH. Now King Charles and Catherine Princess of Wales are battling cancer, and H&M are pushing through with their juvenile attitudes and self centered agenda. They both need to grow up. As a British Australian I can only apologise to Mrs Tillman and all outraged Americans. This silly boy is an embarrassment to us and really very irrelevant under our constitution (although also potentially very damaging in public perception terms) which separates political power from the dignity of head of state. Pat Tillman by contrast to Harry Windsor was a great man who, forgoing riches, ran towards duty. The other one ran away from his duty in pursuit of riches, to cash in on the title bestowed on him for quite other purposes. It's perverse to even put his name in the same sentence with Pat Tillman, let alone on the award given in his honour. We, at least I, apologise. Please don't associate Mr and Mrs Markle with anything British!

An attempt to receive awards which helps with immigration issues…… should have gone to an actual hero.
I don't believe this award will help Harry with his immigration/visa problems. The negative attention he has received over his acceptance of this award has further damaged his reputation in a major way.

It is said...Archwell donated $250,000 to the Tillman Foundation a couple of years ago. Bunker harry was selected by the "Tillman Foundation". The Foundation is run Pat Tillman's widow and her new husband. She took Tillman as her middle name. Of the $5.1M donated last year 75% went to salaries & expenses. So almost NOTHING goes to the service men and women anyways!... The charity watch marks it as a "don't donate.".... I definitely will NOT support that despicable foundation, ESPN or ESPY awards any longer!. If the Harcles thought they were despised and hated before, they have a HUGE surprize coming!. After this debacle the entire WORLD will be despising and hating them ;).

ESPN is owned by Disney and hasn’t made money for them. They are trying to up it’s profile so what better way to get international publicity then to give Harry an award. ESPN is the sport channel. They defended the fact that the most popular female basketball player in the US was left off of the US Olympic team. They said she was a rookie and wouldn’t fit in with the most seasoned players. Harry doesn’t deserve the Tillman award and CC deserved to be on the US Olympic team she is the best player we have seen in years and will save women’s basketball in the US!
