You cans use standard or wide mouth pint jars too, BUT, you have to mix the milk, oats, and protein powder FIRST, then top off with the yogurt. Hey Buff Dudes, I recommend checking out an Instant Pot. It has made meal prepping even easier than before. You can cook 5lbs of chicken in about 15-20 minutes and tastes just like it was slow cooked. Rice cooks in 6 minutes. It’s amazing!
Your channel is amazing! Helped me through quarantine here in Greece back in the early 2020 from March till May, with the amazing dumbbells full body program, and now this great video concerning food and meal prep. Thank you so much and keep on making such great videos!
Since you're doing the whole "boring" chicken/rice/broccoli thing here's a (im not a) pro tip: When boiling the rice, use chicken and beef broth or stock instead of water or just dump in some bouillon cubes. Adds a ton of flavor to an otherwise basic and boring side dish. As a matter of fact, if you can wait til the chicken is done before you do the rice, then use the naturally made chicken broth from the crockpot for the rice. I've gotten a lot of compliments from my rice by just changing this basic step
Using stock is a lost art. My grandmother (and my mother for a lot of years) kept jars of stock and lard/fats in the fridge. Seed oils killed that off somehow. Crazy. Totally backwards. Bacon on Sundays was a blessing and the collected fats were used in cooking the rest of the week. Everything tasted great. Literally every heritage recipe used lard and/or collected fats. You didn't need seasoning. European food was never bland as some people contend. It's just lost on how people used to make it. I mean Sunday nights were popcorn in front of the TV with bacon butter. None of us were fat!
Just meal prepped for the first time thanks to this video! Really excited, cooked it all yesterday and had the 3 course meal today. Really easy and cheap! All the food cost like $75 for the week which isn’t bad for 12 pounds of meat, that and I spent half of that going out to eat a few days ago so I’m stoked. (I get the discount meat that’s good til the end of the day, so it’s like %70 off). I will say the overnight oats are.... unique. They’re not bad! But they’re not good. The texture is really amazing in a weird way. Next week I’m going to try with vanilla protein powder and adding some cinnamon. Excited to see if I can handle eating the same meals every day. Also, a tip that’s helping me: I saved some of the juices from the slow cooker and pour it over my chicken right before re-heating it.
@@ShawnMurray 8 months in and I've moved past this meal plan! I was fat and this diet put on a lot of muscle and I didnt see weight loss so I got impatient. However, this meal plan still helped me! For the fat me: the important part was getting used to home cooked meals, which this meal plan totally helped me with. I still buy lots of chicken, bake it in a night and use it all week. But I've coupled the prepped chicken with exercising; I started skating again and riding my bike the 8 miles to work everyday. Then, once I arrive to work and once when I'm about to ride home I do a scoop of protein powder. I eat around 1,500 - 2,000 calories a day with this exercise. The restraint I learned having to stick to the diet in the video helped a lot and I'm proud to say I went from 220lb to 165lb(my healthy weight) then, back up to 173 lb today (the 8 pounds gained is muscle! I look great!) I also bought a pull up bar and do pull ups everyday now and my pecs are awesome, and I bet once I cut some abs will show more. So, as a success and a failure story my final thoughts are: this diet was great at teaching me restraint and meal prepping. It's probably too extreme to go from down with a thicc-ness like i was to full blown exercise gym goer like the guy in the video. I recommend sticking to the meal plan for a month, pairing it with exercise then chilling out a bit and counting calories after, slowly going down. After the month your cravings willl go down and It'll be easier to pass on the sugary snacks and the Habit of meal prepping will help you make better decisions. I've lost weight, have muscle showing and feel good. I might go back to this diet now that I'm trying to bulk. %100 recommend to do to gain muscle or to lose fat. Side note: the oatmeal breakfast was aweful; use vanilla protein powder with bananas to make it better. Edit: double side note: I meal prepped the Oats every 3 days, the longer they stayed sitting the worst they got. By day 7 I couldn't do it. If you can force it down, go for it
@Debasish Dutta yea! So I’ve noticed on Thursday’s at my local vons (your day will be different) all the chicken prices go on sale as their expiration date is coming up and they re-stock on Friday, I’m able to get more than a weeks worth of chicken for about $15 if I wanted to… however, I only get food for a week since FDFA recommends not storing anything in the fridge for more than 3 or 4 days. A 20lb bag of rice will cost you $20 at a local Asian mart but will last 1-2 months. Beans and veggies are cheap. I’d like to say I’ve been eating on about $30 or less a week. Granted, it’s higher than usual since everything’s gone up (a single bell pepper cost $2 now). Beautiful tip, those $1 seasoning packets you get at grocery stores are amazing. Get chicken seasoning, taco seasoning, fajita seasoning and you can make a $1 packet last a whole month since you only need a few punches per meal and it adds variety to the meal, the blandness was the hardest part for me. Use the chicken as a base, then switch the veggies up depending on the seasoning (You can prep all the veggies, dice em up and store them on meal prep day). For fajitas, just add the seasoning, mushrooms and bell peppers to your chicken. For taco seasoning, dice up some onions, and some parsley and jalapeño and shred the chicken with a fork. Throw some water on it to re hydrate the shredded chicken. There’s so much more options too. Stepped on a scale today, when I originally wrote the post I was 215lb now I’m 170, but have such a small amount of body fat and quite a muscley upper buddy. It’ll be nice to take my shirt off at the beach this summer.

I can't believe you don't rinse your rice before cooking! I like to get the diet off of mine first, I realized rinsing it does change it, for The BETTER!.!
Looks like great meals. One thing I’d say though is you should let the hot food cool down before closing it as the condensation buildup will promote chance for contamination.
Not true, actually the opposite. You don't want food to come to room temp because of bacteria growth. The fridge helps to skip that and cool food down for preservation. www.doh.wa.gov/YouandYourFamily/FoodSafety/Myths
@@wurdnurd1 food should be cooled down to at least 70 degrees within 2 hours and 40 degrees within 4 hours to prevent bacteria growth. I think what he's saying is that you should put the container in the fridge uncovered to let the steam out and cool down a bit before sealing it...not leave it out at room temp uncovered
I worked in the food industry a long time and had to get a food handlers permit and they are very strict in restaurants. I agree with the second comment, not saying to leave it out a long time, just long enough to cool down. As long as it is under 4 hrs it is fine. Typically I will wait an hour, if I’m in a hurry I just put it in the fridge uncovered and then can close it later.
I was wondering how you guys (and all the food preppers really) deal with storing it. Experts say it's only safe to keep cooked/chopped/prepared food for up to 3 days in de refrigerator. Do you put it in the freezer and get it out the day before?
Thats why I've always struggled with food prepping. Food tastes great Monday and Tuesday! But from Wednesday on...not so much. Side note: my meat never went bad...just the combination of 5 day old rice, meat, and veggies wasn't very tasty.
If we're trying to lose belly fat - would it be wise to substitute the carbs (rice) for something else? Your approach to food prep made life a lot easier, thank you for that!
carbs are still important to fueling your workouts and are important. You can cut back on it, but I would advise against completely cutting it out of ur diet.
For something else, yes you can do it. Just try to choice high value vitamin mineral food. If you want to eat some snacks still eat rice and have youe snack to. You have to adjust it to your caloric intake. First make sure you are gettin your protein macro, then oil makro and rest of it is carb you can eat whatever you want but its your decision if its healthy or not. Moderation is key.
@@migch28 it is an ancient thing now, but that does not mean its out dated. Really its a better way to prepare rice as washing it removes the excess starch that's on the grain.
It’s literally made with just water. I doubt it would go back in just a week. Maybe if it was in their longer but if anything I’d be more concerned about the meat than the rice

I had to adjust just slightly for my caloric goals, but I stuck with the overnight oats to a T. Here’s some advice for everyone: I believe the jars he is using are long neck pint jars. You cans use standard or wide mouth pint jars too, BUT, you have to mix the milk, oats, and protein powder FIRST, then top off with the yogurt. I had some fun doing some trial and error but it worked out in the end lol.
For anyone reading this, support your local butcher if you can afford it, I know 2020 has been a rough year for income. I get my veg from the frozen aisle. And don’t forget to wash that rice. Stay blessed people comment section ❤️
Totally second this comment!
shut up and better support me!
It's 2 am here (Ecuador). Watching videos from these dudes make me feel damn ready to hit the gym, grocery shopping, eating. Damn, these guys are the most motivational. You guys never quit and that's why I admire you. Love the content (big fan from 2010).
PS: LOVED YOUR DOG!
GUNS OUT!
I I love how you hit your target with the meals. I also love how you guys are building muscle without having completely rack everything...I’m a ups drive so trying to build muscle by stacking plates is not an option for me because with a physical job like that to heal would take forever not to mention how far it would set me back. Just not worth it, I try to stay strict with my meals and do a lot of time under tension for growth
Worst excuse ever, get the gym lad !!
Hey thanks for your content. I followed some of your meal plans and I now cook once a week. Not only does it save time, I’ve saved money and it’s really helped me eat better 😃 thanks

Doing chicken in the crock pot is the ONLY way to go. No messy clean up and it comes out so dang moist. ::chefs kiss::
Can’t tell you how much this video means. Awesome motivation, you seem like a super dude thanks!
Bought everything today, adjusted it slightly to fit my macros etc but let’s begin this journey. Almost done your 3 week prep phase then it’s onto the 12 week program. Let’s get buff!
Glad I checked out this video. I definitely have a hard time with meal prep (small house and currently four people, so no room in the fridge), but it's on the to-do list.
17 and I’ve decided to go out to the shops and give this a go for a month, you’ve been a big inspiration so far but I want to know what keep you guys motivated, often when I work out I lose motivation
how has it worked so far for you? i want to try it out
@@user-rh6sx5kr7i yeah man it’s a great idea I’ve been on it a week so far, and I feel healthier. I don’t eat the snacks because it is a lot of food and I’m not exactly the size of them. But it’s still great for you, I think the chicken was a bit dry and the vegetables a bit plain but everything else was good. And it’s definitely a great idea
@@shanepispek7539 A lot of info online especially google tells us to eat fruit and veggies high in flavonoids. What they dont tell us is that flavonoids or phytoestrogen usually not always increase your estrogen levels. Whats the lesson here? Think for yourself and do your research thoroughly.
Butcher box was garbage for me. 4 months, 4 box’s, each time an item missing. All customer service would say is we will send it on the next one, and they never did
I think they spend all their money on advertising...
to say butcher box is quality meat is meh. chickens n pork are still fed corn n soy. beef isnt that great quality due to marketing terms as grass fed that have been f'd with the past few years.
Is it expensive and appreciate that dawg
Don't have experience with them but IMHO the best choice is always going to a LOCAL farm butcher. Not the "big box" grocery store.
I love the energy and positivity coming out from this man! I wish one day I will be as happy as this dude prepping my meals ! Thanks !
This guy is so intelligent and the accuracy the way he explains and simplifies the knowledge keep the great content up watching from London!
Hey Buff Dudes, I recommend checking out an Instant Pot. It has made meal prepping even easier than before. You can cook 5lbs of chicken in about 15-20 minutes and tastes just like it was slow cooked. Rice cooks in 6 minutes. It’s amazing!
This 💪🧠

Did I miss something? Video introducing Buff Pup needed! 😁
(And great meal prep vid).
Your channel is amazing! Helped me through quarantine here in Greece back in the early 2020 from March till May, with the amazing dumbbells full body program, and now this great video concerning food and meal prep. Thank you so much and keep on making such great videos!
Since you're doing the whole "boring" chicken/rice/broccoli thing here's a (im not a) pro tip:
When boiling the rice, use chicken and beef broth or stock instead of water or just dump in some bouillon cubes.
I love doing white rice with just a bunch of olive oil. So good
Using stock is a lost art.
@@RJT80 the reason it's a "lost art" is because of how unhealthy it is
Just meal prepped for the first time thanks to this video!
Also, a tip that’s helping me:
I saved some of the juices from the slow cooker and pour it over my chicken right before re-heating it.
So it's been 8 months, how you been doing with it?
The background music sounds like 80s song Livin in a Box at end of the video. So cool. Brandon u rock man.

If you want to start eating healthy food that is aligned with your fitness goal, be it bulking or losing fat, website called Next Level Diet should definitely be your first station. After completing the 28-day period, you will transition from a beginner to a well-built man. I'm not saying it's easy to stick to it, but I dare you to try
Thank you, I will definitely try. I am also beginner and I need some assistant but personal trainers are so much expensive.
So, the bulls**t that these buffed clowns suggested wasn't enought for you and you deciced on top of it give us another crap of "diet" consisting of eating feces matter mixed with protein powder?

Man, that rice's gotta be hard AF on the 5th day.
i never understood how people meal prep like the entire week using rice lmao, that shit gets hard af after like one or two nights in the fridge i couldn't imagine a week later😂
Putting rice or the containers from which you will eat on 4th or 5th day into food bags helps a lot with keeping the rice soft.
I usually put a damp paper towel over it when I reheat it so some moisture goes back into it and it comes out nice and fluffy
Sprinkle some water on the rice before microwaving. Like 0.5 sec under the tap
Add a teaspoon or two of water to the rice when packaging it. Even on day 7 the rice will still be soft.
A lot to take in from these meal prepping dudes, I need something simple
Juat found you guys, and you rock.
Really would love a breakdown at the end of videos like this that include a food list, and a basic write up of how to make the three main dishes mentioned , rather than having to go back & watch sections over again.
Would make your videos a lot more efficient for viewers.
I love how the epic intro music is perfect when you're ACTUALLY doing something epic, but also when you're doing something ordinary, it feels kinda ironic
I can't believe you don't rinse your rice before cooking! I like to get the diet off of mine first, I realized rinsing it does change it, for The BETTER!.!
Of course it changes the flavor, you're washing off the talc and any bug bits that might have gotten into the rice.

Finally a channel that weighs their food. People don’t realize how different and how much more your suppose to eat if you weigh your food
I really like your videos . They are motivational. Plus the shot of your dog . He/She is a beautiful fur baby.
Do you put it in the freezer and get it out the day before?
y storing it for 5 days is lil too long
Thats why I've always struggled with food prepping. Food tastes great Monday and Tuesday! But from Wednesday on...not so much.
Side note: my meat never went bad...just the combination of 5 day old rice, meat, and veggies wasn't very tasty.

Absolute quality! Legend dude thankyou so much.
Hardest part for me to wrap my head around, is the fact he eats the same thing everyday for a week straight. Id fail out on the 3rd day.
When you see & feel positive body changes you stick to it
Man, I had to double take when you just cooked the rice without washing it. Aiya!!! Uncle Roger disappointed. :)
Where the MSG?
Rinsing rice before cooking is an ancient thing now.
@@migch28 it is an ancient thing now, but that does not mean its out dated. Really its a better way to prepare rice as washing it removes the excess starch that's on the grain.

It's not safe to keep rice in the fridge for a week though right?
