Actually the difference is in this one the characters are 2d animated, don't move a Muscle and don't move their mouths. Where as the original trailer is 3D animated and the characters move their mouths.

The Emoji Movie actually had decent animation, albeit being accompanied with a concept so obviously depraved and cynical that the most greatest writers would have troubles to make it even passable, the animation was, at least, good for what it's worth. It's sad that despite the animator's efforts to make a good visual presentation, the god-awful writing shined through in the trailer's original iteration and this iteration. I frankly don't see a difference!
