After playing last season of PoE, i tried Torchlight Infinite too but i could not finish the BP bc D4 released. Now that i played the 3 of them back to back, i can say without a doubt that Torchlight Infinite is the one i had most fun. It's so underrated !
As a degenerate 8000 hours PoE player I can confirm - this game is awesome. Basically arcady Path of Exile, and plays smoothly (which can't be said about PoE recently)

I may have to try this. I know the designers have a huge history with ARPGs but I was told it was heavy on microtransactions when it came out. Didn't really want all that. I'm willing to try it now though, especially if they are listening to player feedback.
The original Torchlight had heavy involvement by David Brevik who was a key part of the Diablo 1 and 2 teams but both TL1 and TL2 were the kind of small but really tight games which could not keep players from the Diablo 3 content bloat era satisfied long enough to feel like they got a bargain with the box price. Torchlight 3 and now Infinite had a lot of development struggle where the team tried to pin down the best way to bring the IP forward with modern sensibilities and the current iteration of Infinite is almost fully overhauled from how it was originally revealed.
I wish they would release it on nintendo switch. When I am on PC I have better games to play, and on mobile small screen just sucks. Switch would be ideal to play it on go...
Anyone playing on the Steam Deck? Is this a good ARPG for the deck? LE: Ended up installing it and it works like a charm. Only modified my trackpads to be mouse+scroll as that's better for menus and inventory management but combat is great, the feel is good and I'm enjoying it... And it's free!
After watching the vid, thought id try the game out a bit because the class building seems cool. -in this vid, its hard to tell because everything dies instantly, but the gameplay is pretty clunky and there isnt a dodge afaik? -THE MTX omg think genshin but like 6x worse, every predatory awful MTX manipulative whale farm is in here -I tried for 10 minutes to find out how to unlock a class, theres like 7 or 8? different currencies but I couldnt for the life of me figure out how im supposed to get the earnable class currency (and you have to pay for each "subclass" at the same price, theres not really a "main class" besides the subcalsses you get for free) or, ya know, pay $15 per class. -the character hes showing off in this vid, which is obviously insanely overtuned, is battlepass only (funny how that the battlepass wasnt brought up at all..) -the free currency you earn a ton of, doesnt get you anything valuable, just some consumables -story setup showed just how awful the writing in this game is gonna be from the get go -the skins are rediculous, I love some big pauldrons and cute catgirls but its almost a parody with the artstyle. I wouldnt even be bothered normally but its obvious this isnt a sponsored review, this is an advertisement with a very curtailed script. I wouldnt recommend this to anyone youd have a better time with genshin, and its less predatory than this...
Youga needs a complete rework, rock bottom in S4 with Base Moto. Charge Calling Moto is tiny bit better but no where near what it was in S3. Moto is hard nerfed as it has a direct comparison to Iris class. Very scummy move by Torchlight. I was doing Path of the brave 5 with bouth Moto's last season but when I tried in new season, I could not do path of the brave 1 with base Moto, and only was able to do path of the brave 4 with Charge Calling Moto (tested on permanent server since I have perfected gear). Ranger of Glory got buffed in comparison, 3bil damage + is possible, I dont have everything perfect for this one but I have very good gear, I got to 2.93B in my test, however will have to build in defense in S4 with it, and some bosses might be a bit tricky like t8 traveler as you need to avoid/do mechanics of the fight, all in all Ranger of Glory is A+ not a C tier as in Maxroll tier list. I'm skipping this season content, I'll be playing on permanent server as the class I wanted to play got hard nerfed, Youga.
About the leveling, I think that the changes to crafting affected items in unintended ways making it kinda broken. Spell leveling feels brokenly strong, in early acts a low tier "added damage to spells" triples your damage. By the late acts, things are more balanced and in timemarks things do get increasingly hard to the point where the uber bosses right now seem completely out of reach, probably they will only be doable on multiple thousand FEs budget and/or meta builds.
Cheers for the video Rhykker! This game has been on my radar for a while now but i havent tried it yet. I am interested in the game but the main reason holding me back is that i heard that your characters appearance doesnt change at all with gear you equip. This is the first arpg that i have come across that does this and it really bothers me since it is very unusual design choice in this genre.
Torchlight Infinite started as and is mainly a mobile game which should explain why equipped gear is not displayed on characters. For one its not that big a deal on mobile and for another they probably want to entice people to pay some cash for the cosmetic skins.
i personally thing modo is better. I tried iris but i think she in terms of dmg quite weak. With modo i could just run through an area doing absolute nothing and the fist fighter pets where wrecking everything. if you manage to get the cd down enough he autosummons and overcharges the bots nonstop. With iris the gameplay feld a bit slow.
Heroes are not locked behind paywalls. If you don't want to or can't get the season pass then ar worse you only have to wait until the next season to get it through grinding character keys.

I'm playing the new season due to their marketing campaign. And...it's a good game, but I'm so lost in the sauce. I'm taking portals to who knows where, for what reason. And getting talent points there. I'm getting "boons" even though I have no idea how they actually work. Skill layouts are not intuitive. Honestly, PoE makes more sense at this point. Except for PoE crafting...I'll never understand that, or rather never am rich enough to participate.
Is this game playable in co-op? Im looking for games to play with a friend that plays on mobile and that i can also play on PC, ive played the main torchlight games and i know they are co-op but ive seen comments that this one is single player, altho is listed in steam as co-op

Mate just buy Last Epoch and get a complete product with new classes released for free or buy Grim Dawn. Bradwick just made a worse gotcha game as Lost Ark, the amount of power creep you will face at high level is not fun, mobs just become dmg sponges, ranged enemies are OP af, even if you go full def build you wont be able progress either, itemization is more boring than Diablo immortal, it is obvious that the Torchlight team couldn't keep up with the game, they lack vision. All your skills traits that you unlock boil down to 4-5 that you will be using 24/7 theres no "tons of customization". It is really sad that Rhykker gets paid to promote bad games.

(which I know you didn't you're busy with other games and the season is 5 days old) Gemma Ice Fire is easily S+ Tier Flame of Pleasure is the best class by far currently S+++ tier but people are picking up on her slowly. Rehan is not spin to win gameplay. He's more like a train shield charging. If you go anything else ur legit trolling. Erika isn't fast she is slower than Rehan, Gemma ice fire and a few others.
But the HUD, UI, Inventory and everything else is the worst from all torchlight series till now. And most cumbersome and atrocious to all current ARPGs....that pushes me away from the game completely.

I like it, it's a fun, fast-paced game. Has good gear crafting. The only downside is the gacha pets, it's not too significant, but it's there.

This guy seems to be avoiding featuring Path Of Exile for some strange reason.
I literally made a league starter video a couple weeks ago.
Review our game but don't be honest and only talk about positives. Hence the review coming in half way leveled that's all he could take.
