To be honest, Fernando helped a lot but in LA, despite what happened in Chavez ravine extinction, The Dodgers were always aces with us in LA (LA County). My mom Filipina American born in the late 40s in Visalia Ca. My grandfather (LoLo) ws a farmworker and loved then Brooklyn, and in the late 50s the LA Dodgers. My mom met my dad in college in LA (LMU) and by that time, my Filipino side all lived in San Pedro and Carson. Mom dated my dad because he is a native LA latino and a huge dodger fan. They still try to go to opening day. They only missed 2020 since 1980. Now, Dodger games at our homes has great Mexican and Filipino food. Only hot dogs and beer at Dodger Stadumium. VIVA Dodgers! MABUHAY! DODGERS!
Thank you for doing this special presentation. I was five when this happened but the reverberations lasted through my childhood and continue to this day in shaping the fans and players of this great city.
I remember those days, I still have my "I Luv Fernando" t-shirt. The stadium started selling nachos, you knew then that the Mexican culture was beginning to take affect.

It is true. We Mexicans never give up on our heroes. As a Giants fan. I hated the Dodgers, but I recognize talent. My father took me to see the LA/SF, and when my dad saw Fernando coming onto the field. He yelled Vamos Fernando!. He knowledge my dad by waving his hand. I miss you, Papa. I wish you were still with us. Let us also support our Sergio(Checo) Perez from Redbull Racing in F1. Vamos Let' Do it the Mexican Way.

Love for Fernando from everyone especially Latinos who had a great role model in Valenzuela. He is the best Doiyer player ever.
Been a Dodger’s fan for many years but, when Fernando started to play with my favorite team, it took my love for this team to the stars!

Mexicos greatest pitcher to play for the dodgers. A great pitcher from the 80s.

I know people that have meat Fernando and they say he was the super nice person.
El Toro Valenzuela debe estar en el Salón de la Fama gringo.

I liked the way he pitched, as a left-handed pitcher.
Why haven't the Doyers retired his number?
Good question?
I like the song who sings it?
Muchos años y todavía no sale otro igual
