He had a SERIOUS problem that had him unable to promote for over a year which means his back could be easily hurt again. There's 18 of them gosh he could have been placed anywhere better. And he was the bottom support too! That means most of the weight was on him. Jeez. I hope they're more careful in the future and Jaemin works hard while staying healthy~!

A choreography always gets tons of change before the final result so I'm sure it wouldn't done any bad to switch Jaemin with someone going up and not down. I'm just writing down my thoughts though, I am neither Jaemin or the choreographers but I'm convinced he wouldn't have just said "okay I got one year to rest but sure why not let a comrade step on my back?" The only thing I ever heard that is related to this is that one of their older groups (either dbsk or Shinhwa I truly can't remember which) was rumoured to go on a full water diet, orders from the company. But these were only rumors, never proven to be true (and even if they did smth like that in the past, they can't do it anymore now). They don't give rest because SM is probably the company where idols have the tightest schedule. That's really unfortunate but that's how SM groups keep their success, by taking all good opportunities. But what SM sucks at is protecting their idols. I'm not a blind SM stan trying to make the company look like heaven lol.
