That’s only a pond a pond builder would build for himself how could anyone else afford that it’s out of this world. It has to be the most beautiful swim pond I have ever seen just amazing it belongs in magazines all over the world.
My goodness, wow, what do i say ...... just incredible. I just cannot believe this creation, just mind blowing. A great video put together too, drone footage is just beautifully done ❤
Magnificent! I have been following Laura @garden answer journey with her pond/dream stream…I am going to look into having one installed on my property late spring. This is beautiful.
The Pond and the stonework speaks for it self. But, as a Landscaper and Gardendesigner, i have to say, put a lot more attention in the surrounding. All that bare soil, just some mulch or so. A good Plant-Guy would bring this on a higher level with just perennials and grasses. If i lived in the US, i would do this vor free, for a outstanding projekt like this. Thanks so far for sharing this.
Thanks, Jaak, for this video. I was just thinking about seeing Chris's finished pond earlier last week. And, look what showed up on my feed. I thought Greg would revisit Chris, but I'm glad you did. His pond is amazing! 🤩❤😊
@AtlantisWaterGardens the hidden paths and bridges. Also the way he has different pumps that can be turned off but keep wetland going for filtration. The jumping rock into deep water.
Jaak, has anyone ever told you that you sound just like Jimmy Kimmel? You could do amazing impressions of him! This video started playing when I wasn’t looking at my phone and initially I thought it was Kimmel. Thanks for sharing this amazing property!
@@AtlantisWaterGardens each rock looks like it was placed there to create a different perspective every step around or level of elevation. The waterfalls are just flowing in harmony. The separate sections yet it creates a one pond feel, just wow
I've looked at a lot of pond videos since Brian and Greg created Laura's first Pond ( Garden Answer). This swim pond that Chris built is my favorite of all. Just beautiful and great for the kids. . Love the jumping rock and steps to circle back up. The waterfall looks more natural than most. This landscape has come a long way since Greg filmed here a few years ago.. I wonder what is the mulched area directly behind where Chris is sitting in the interview.
Wondered where the pond is, NewYork, Cali, NJ, what state? It's gorgeous and massive and if its in the south swimming year round is a bonus, love the wetland filters those huge lily pads are incredible, it's all a natural, phenomenal piece of natures art, like it belongs, you guys really did an amazing job, thanks for sharing this masterpiece, wow I just saw the seating built above to get another view which really blows my mind and like 200 Koi is just extraordinary, I love Goldfish and of course the koi and the personal interaction is truly special, what a thing of beauty to have the honor to live by, your intentions are 100% magnificient and yes they get more beautiful as they evolve, such a special journey you guys will experience, Missouri, ok all the best and ty again so uplifting!!!
@@Eric.MercadoI’m just getting into these ponds not building them but watching videos and either eventually hiring someone to build a recreational pond for me or maybe hire somebody to build it with me but it will be one of those two options…I’m really curious why I have never seen anyone build a river that startsvh😮❤❤❤❤
Glad you like it! The amount of Koi really add a feeling out of this world. As Eric pointed it out here, and Chris said it in the video - its St Louis, Missouri :)
@dennisparkerakaheavyD05 Whichever route you go, I guarantee you will not regret being a part of "the aquascape lifestyle." Even a small pondless waterfall/stream makes a world of difference in your day to day living, especially on how you start using your backyard and property. It's amazing and an absolute delight. And as far as the stream being the head waters for the pond, it's actually the norm on most ponds with a bit of size to them. I'm sure as you fall deeper down the rabbit hole, you will see a lot more of them. A good feature will have a wetland/bog as the head waters that flow into the stream and drop into the pond, exactly like this one. But the wetland/bog is designed and built so well you can not really tell it's there, and that's what the end goal is with these features. You never want to see any mechanical parts or liner that kills the natural esthetic, and you want the most natural look possible. 👍 👌 Be ⚠️ warned...it never ends. 😆 you will forever and always be tinkering with it and the landscape around as well as adding on to it. 😆
This rec pond & backyard is unbelievable! Really cool to see the plantings start to mature. Are the sumac rhizomes going to be a problem ever? There’s really one thing as far as the structures go that drive me nuts is those bridges with the uneven/ haphazard board bridges. Also nice camerawork Jaak!
😮 There is not even the slightest possibility someone could build that Absolutely Phenomenal Recreation Pond for 20,000 bucks, more like 850,000 for a D.I.Y. build. But in saying that, something might need to be downscale, such as the size of those rocks or even the actual size of the Pond. You might, at a real push, build a bare liner Pond at that size for 100,000 without a rocked out Waterfall. 😂 Anyway, Jaak, it is nice to see you, Sir. I hope you are well. Out of appreciation to you for taking the time to produce this content to share with us viewers an overview and some insight on that incredible rec Pond, the video has now been given the 310th like 🤙🏼to say thankyou very much. Have a great Week and take care, Sir. 🤙🏼🙂🤙🏼❤️
I know it gets said way too often, almost to the point of making the statement meaningless. But when I say this is the best feature I've ever seen, I'm being genuinely deadass serious. 😂 But seriously. Fantasic work, Chris! Earned that AOY with this one project alone, though I'm sure you've done other amazing projects as well. The only unfortunate thing about this project has nothing to do with the project itself. it's a masterpiece. It's the property/land it sits on. If Chris would ever go mad and want to move, I'd imagine selling this would be difficult, which you'd think should be easy. But when you have a million dollar backyard with a cramped. shabby, and out dated house (no disrespect to Chris) and sits adjacent a cemetary; you kinda start questioning Chris' desicion to have this piece of land for his dream and not wait for the next one. But hey, maybe this is his dream home and property, and he is 1000% happy and plan to die in this home? Either way, amazing! Shoutout to AWG again for the filming and editing of this upload. That b-roll was cinematic quality! 👏 👏 👏
Glad you enjoyed it! Personally - when you create something like this, the more you want to keep such a place forever, the more it makes you build it more durable. :)
Beautiful. This may seem silly, but with a pond that big in a subdivision, how would you recommend controlling wildlife such as mice, snakes, raccoons, or any other unwanted pest? My thought is that a pond would be more attractive to these critters than a pool because of its looks and lack of chemicals. I'm just curious how this is handled or if it is even an issue for pond customers, especially in close proximity to the neighbors. Thanks for your posts. You do incredible work, and I enjoy watching.
That's really a question regarded for a specific area, but usally you'd want to put a special concrete cloth under the waterfalls and sides, where the smaller critters might be interested in making their homes and chewing on liner. For racoons for example it's really about the overall backyard fencing and other blockages. But yea, as I mentioned, you need to know your area to do the right preparations against these scenarios.
I wonder if that guy does any consulting. I’ll have to call and see. I’m a Firefighter in St.Louis so he’s in my area. That’s an incredible sight. I need to know how you can put that much weight on a liner and it not get squashed into a leaking mess. I definitely need to chat with this guy👍🇺🇸
Question how did this pond go from $500,000 from greg wittstock review of pond a few years back and now to Million? Other than the pergola the pond looks the same. 🤨
As Chris mentioned in the video, it's an unending project, so a lot of changed even the not so visible things in the video changed over the years, since its a constant work. :)
@@smokeeater8387 I just compare to what others have priced out with starting prices. I will say you are correct about groceries. Only problem the day you sell your property you will never get the money you invested in that pond. No one in your neighborhood has anything like it. So you won't be able to find a comparable with a similar amenity rec pond to compare it to your property. So basically you are looking at an over improvement on your property. Also the quiet neighbors resting behind the property doesn't help with the value either.
