I like the lights. They’re a good way to alert and warn motorists. Not to throw shade on the guy that wired them up, but I know I would have done a better job at wiring them up. Leaving wires close to sharp edges is a sure way to burn some things up or at minimum the jacket on the wire will start to chaff leading to electrical issues later on. Those wires should have had wire loom on them.
First, nice job installing your lights. I do have to agree with the viewer that suggested you shouldn’t have mounted your side lights at an angle. LED lights, especially TIR models like the lights you installed, give the brightest and best warning when viewed (mounted) straight. Their off access effectiveness is not the best so by installing them at the angle that you did, your brightest light effect is pointing upward above eye level. Even with the LINZ or Linear style light head, it’s best to aim straight or eye level but their off access intensity would have compensated enough if installed at the same angle. Other than that your installation was very clean and great decision on location of your switch. Good luck with your future videos and thanks for making and posting this one.
Wouldn't have grinded it away... would've just used self taper screws with a gasket... or just regular self tappers with some silicone... something to help keep water out...
Nice!! Do you get to choose the pattern? Or do they change automatically/individually ? I have those bud red/white for my Jeep but I don’t know what controller to get, and probably I’ll want them to change on their own cause it can catch more attention. Plus a controller for multiple patterns is probably going to be bigger and need more space Oh and also, did you have to connect them to the vehicle battery?
Adrian Cazares the yellow wire was left alone, that one is to set the pattern. If I ever want to change it I just touch it to any part of the toolbox and they will change.
I have purchased the same ones and waiting for a good day to install. Couple questions since you've already done it. What gauge wire did you run for install? Did you look into putting extra sealant around them to prevent moisture? And how have they held up so far?
Layingframe1 Yes put sealant, I had to unscrew mine and add some sealant after because they were getting moisture they still do a little bit but it goes away in a couple of hours and they start working fine again but when they do get moisture they don’t blink they just stay on but they’ll eventually work again so other than that they’re pretty good
The strobes I bought from amazon (ASIN B07Q9HTZX3) each have 5 wires - red (+12) black (gnd) yellow (change pattern) gray (sync) white (sync). The instructions say to hook the gray from one light to the white of the next and that syncs up the fixtures. It worked for me. You may want to check yours to see if they have sync wires as well.
Wish you would have seen our PSA regarding how to recognize junk warning lights. The crap you just installed in your truck is an insurance liability. You could have purchased legit warning lights that meet SAE Certification for the same price.

Cutting that big square hole in your box was STUPID. Why not just use self tapping sheet metal screws to attach the light and drill a MUCH SMALLER HOLE!!!!?!!?!?!!

Bryce Yancey Grinded the inside of the lid, the water seal is around the corner of the tool box lid, no water is getting in there.
Sheet metal screws or pop rivets, then fish the wires from the ends. Just makes a cleaner looking install.

Video man I’m sure you can, lots of people have them. I use them when towing or if I have to park on the side of the road.

Do you have an issue with sync. I find one strobe runs a little faster then the other and won't do same thing same time no matter what I try

The yellow wire is usually just to look for the pattern you want you don’t hook it up to anything.
