Great day for the end of the season spear fishing.
Grouper aren't the only fun fish to spear, just take your spear to the mangroves or out to the keys. Shoot some jacks or snappers and do a catch and cook or something. You will enjoy it.
there is a lot of invasive carp in my home town and there is a bunch of people that spearfish for em'. i haven't, but they pull in quite a bit.

My favorite fishing story was when in was bottom fishing for bass on the Oregon coast. I was fishing next to the captain, when someone yelled “fish on”, so even though I had my line in the water I grabbed the captains pole to hold while he helped the guy bring in his fish... during that time I got a bass on each pole, and then I got a ling cod trying the eat the bass on both poles, I brought up all 4 fish, 2 bass and 2 cod, both the cod were the size of the big one you got in this video. 😁. I love your videos! Keep up the awesome work!

Goattie McGoat as someone that spear fishes regularly I did it and snapped the bands and the spear only went 10-15 feet. Not a good idea, dangerous as hell but funny to watch
@@michaelweisberg1896 i was wondering about that too of what importance that the water resistance has in that gun not breaking. Like dry firing a bow.
The spearguns are not designed for out of water shooting, hence the effect on the trigger mech is much greater leading to breaks, the bands also as stated above are way more likely to snap, the spear warps more causing inaccurate shots, and the recoil in the water is much less, plenty of videos out there of people not accounting for that and breaking there nose, wrist etc. very dangerous and don’t recommend doing it. A blue water gun will shoot a spear 90m+ (over 100 yards)

Hey Brandon, You should come to the Netherlands sometime, we’ve got some great diving spots which aren’t dangerous at all and a lot of good rivers which you can treasure hunt in and there have been a lot of sunken ships you should definitly come and see!
