@@wa40175 That was a 1-16 FTX Op, I think. They had a refugee camp nearby their airbase, and before they started their Op briefing, their base started taking mortar fire. And then the fun ensued! There was another fun Op where their patrol was overrun, killing many, and when they re-spawned at their base, their base was overrun with tanks and infantry as they were trying to re-insert to the AO. Then their base became the AO, but in that one, they displaced to an alternate COB. That was Op Red Hammer 2-15. The one where you refer to "the hill", was the FTX Op. It's forever known now as "Drumheller Hill". There's a monument there now. The only 506th Op where they used Chinooks for CAS support, because that was all they had left. The enemy sent 148 armored mechanized assets against the 506th, lol...... Here it is: th-cam.com/video/f6y4je97tGw/w-d-xo.html

How far? 1-4: West, past those buildings 1-1:eyes on 1: F'in....shoot it? 1-4: it's already catastrophic
Ending is very intense once it hits 2nd hour while video was intended but ending was the best due to several birds coming in and the enemies weren’t going to let them go out like that at least 6 birds came in or 5
Had a quick questions since this op was so complex, will you be releasing AAR's for this or any of the op's u do or do those stay mostly inhouse per say? imo it'd be very interesting for members of the community outside the 506th or arma that are interested to see your opinions on how each and/or every/any situation went down for educational purposes.
I would love to play this game but to be honest it seems like it is only meant for people who have served or are serving lol. I don't know all the CB lingo/jargon so i feel like half the time i'd be responding to commands saying "umm.. what?" You guys do a great job tho.. seems as authentic/realistic as any game ive ever seen.. I remember reading that the Army used Arma in recruiting and some training
Drum, if you have the time and inclination to elaborate, what's the relationship between 6 and 7 here? I tried doing a bit of research via the 506 website, checking the roster I can see that you're acting Alpha Company Platoon Leader at the moment, in addition to your normal role as company commander. I'm not sure if, or how, that translates to the havoc callsigns 6 and 7. Just from watching so many of your videos I was under the impression that that 6 was the ranking officer, responsible for the overall strategic plan and coordinating ground forces with air (via JTAC), mortars, etc, whereas 7 was responsible for more specific/tactical duties. But in this video, and the prior joint op video, those responsibilities seem to be reversed. Is that because you're operating under the role of platoon leader as opposed to the role of company commander? Or is it something to do with the fact that it's a joint op? Apologies if this is explained on the site somewhere, I wasn't able to find it. Edit: On watching further I did notice you are actually responding as "1", as opposed to "6" - which I guess is the platoon leader vs company commander distinction. I thought I heard "6" at some point but I might be mistaken.
Drum is currently filling the role of Havoc 1-6 (1st Platoons Platoon commander), His primary billet is Havoc 6 (Alpha Company Commander), 1SGT Brewer is Havoc 7 (Alpha Company 1SGT) LT Tell is Havoc 5 (Alpha Company XO) As far as how the relationship works between the members of senior leader ship (5, 6, and 7), they all pretty much work together to keep the company as a whole together and well organized as-well as taking turns lead the task forces (TF Alpha, Bravo, and Charlie) all the while giving each other the professional courtesy and benefit of the doubt that comes with being at a company HQ level. Think of it as a well oiled machine. I hope that makes sense, I wrote after a long night of drinking soo idk if it is totally accurate, im sure if its not then someone will correct my statement!
@@1378Mrbubbles I think I follow, let me just make sure: The calls regarding 6 for Drum were in the context of havoc 1-6, AKA havoc 1. Brewer was acting as task force commander from the callsign havoc 7 I believe Heckman was responding as 1-7 in the position of platoon sergeant, which is what I was probably thinking of when I referred to 7 being responsible for the more specific duties in my last comment. On this mission, havoc 6 was not a active callsign because drum was acting as 1-6 instead. Have I got that straight?
In the Army: 5 = XO, 6 = Commander, 7 = NCOIC. This can be interchangeable depending on what echelon you're referring to. For instance, Havoc 2-7 would be 2nd Platoon's PSG. Of course Platoon's don't really have XO's, but when I was in, my Platoon had a 1LT as PL, and a Warrant Officer under him so we referred to Chief as 5. In the case of Havoc 1, this would just refer to 1st Platoon. That callsign would refer to anyone that is in charge of handling comms for that Platoon, while Havoc 1-6 is specifically the PL.
@@allmhuran Pretty much yes, there are some times that drum will be rolling as havoc 6 in a mission with another member of Company HQ, but not be the over all task force commander; however those times are rare and if they do happen, usually there is only one member of Company HQ leading the task force Of course if Drum is filling his primary billet in an op that the 1SGT is the task force commander, he is well within his rights to change the direction of the task forces movements as he sees fit, though like I said that rarely happens
Question, why don't you guys have your own tanks? Doesn't seem fair that the enemy has multiple types of 'fuck you' weapons and you guys just have the jeeps and the air assets sometimes
its the scenario / mission they have been tasked with. in my assumption to add to the fun and immersion of each mission a certain ammount of limited assets is required. other misions they have full armored convoys it just depends on the mission/objective/scenario they are running at that time.
