This horse has a lot of talent and does a nice flat walk on the trail, but getting the same gait in the arena especially when arena is slanted or footing is not the best can cause the horse to go more toward a pace or a trot, depending on your horses wiring and genes. This horse goes more toward the pace. Watch the slow motion, it is long, but you will see when he goes more toward a pace, he elevates his head, and inverts his back then his legs get more lateral. When he is truly pacing you will see the rider bounce due to the suspension of the pace which is 2 beats not 4. Then toward the end she gets him to relax his back more with his head lower and does a shoulder in to help separate his legs. Watch it several times and analyze everything that is happening, you will learn alot and train your eye to see the gaits. Watch the rider and the horse over and over until you can see the difference in how he is moving. He is only 3 and over time with conditioning he will have a lovely gait. I would like him to gait in time with his head a little higher so he has more head shake but at this point he can only do the gait well with the correct foot fall with his head below the pommel of the saddle. With his head this low he relaxes more of his back muscles. They can only pace if they tense up their muscles in their back instead of relaxing them, so sometimes you have to bring their head very low to start and get the correct foot fall than slowly bring it back up to neutral as they can hold the gait.
