He's the perfect actor for this role....he literally expressed his emotions through his eyes....his body language. The desperation in his kisses shows how much he loves her
And Ruby always looking like someone slapped her with the dirty rug in her face.Like Bella that mouth is always opened, looking around like blasted rabbit, never properly breathing.

The acting and writing in this series completely exceeds expectations. Ruby and James have sooooo much chemistry. The tension, the angst, it was just perfect. The depth that the actor and writers gave James was lovely as well. Watching his every range of emotions. Like wow. I want more. I hope they go to Oxford together although that 2nd year guy looks like he might try to get Ruby. I’m just excited at all the possibilities plus James family story. Pllllllllleasse renew this series. THE PEOPLE NEED MORE.

If you want the spoiler. They both enter Oxford. But he decides he doesn't want to go until he finds the career he wants to pursue (like art, and not work on the company of his mom), and a passion for it to have a job (about this carreer) in his future.
For the moment (after graduating), he will enjoy life (traveling, going to seminars, exploring, etc)...
But she actually goes to Oxford and pursues a career there.
But we won't get to that part (Epilogue of the third book is 3 months after graduating). The 3 books/seasons cover only their last year of high school (and many problems between them, and the rest of main and supporting characters) in Maxton Hall.
It's a happy ending. They end up together

Ikr This was so good I literally cried at the end. The rivalry, the angst the tension, the comfort moments it was so beautiful and can we talk about the songs. I legit got goosebumps. I desperately need season 2 asap.😭❤️
This is by far the best romantic film series I have ever watched. Both are just fantastic actors and Damian with the look in his eyes.just wow.

@@helin1041 Not really, from my understanding, i think he didn't want to go to Oxford but because it was his mom's wish, I believe he will stay and give up his own dream. they show how he has his mom's watch in the last scene, they may eventually see each other a lot i guess

The fact that i thought it would be a cringy wattpad story but dammnnnn this is beyond my expectation and their chemistry is fire and james character development is top notch. A perfect romantic series after sooooo long can't wait for season 2❤

I never watched a romance series before (i prefer movies) and Maxton Hall got me HOOKED. It was so good and emotional😩 I ended binge watching it❤ The acting was good, storyline was good, song choice was good….basically the whole season was good🫶🥹

Ich hoffe doch, dass alle Bände von Mona Kasten verfilmt werden und diese Reihe nicht so halb fertig abgesetzt wird. Es ist nämlich eine meiner Lieblingsgeschichten. 🍀
Es kommt noch keine Sorge das ist in Planung aber eine Staffel dauert eben näcdktes Jahr kommt Staffel 2
Ich kann es kaum erwarten bis die zweite Staffel rauskommt. Ich liebe diese Bücher so sehr. Die Geschichte ist etwas besonderes und eine meiner allerliebsten Bücher die es gibt. Ich lese die Bücher immer wieder seitdem sie veröffentlicht wurden. Bestimmt schon 6 oder 7 mal gelesen oder gehört. The Best!

I binge watched and I'm obsessed, we need season 2 confirmed already! The chemistry between the main actors were absolutely insane, the actors irl are posting lots of romantic pictures still, if they are really dating we don't know but the chemistry is 100% real my goodness. I need season 2!

I watched and... that was really good❤❤. I mean I didn't watch anything this good recently. All in all the atmosphere in the show is kind of interesting. Actors are well chosen and the plot though still contains some clichè on it but is absouletly amazing. So right now I'm looking forward for 2nd season. Hope it'll come out soon

This show was surprisingly so good! I honestly thought it would be the same old college romance with mediocre acting but i was so wrong. Their acting was truly remarkable. Made me feel all the emotions. Hope they make the 2nd season asap.

I’m 49 and also love it. It has depth, is well written, and the actors did a wonderful job. A joy to watch. I hope, we are getting also the next two seasons.

This show was top notch. I knew it was going to be good but not this good!! The cast, the shots everything was just perfect. The main leads chemistry was one of the best ones I’ve ever seen. I cried at the end of the show, James as well as Lydia deserve so much more. I hope he gets the happy life he dreams for in the future with Ruby. I really wish the books had an English version. For everyone who's wondering...
Yes, the book series does have a happy ending! In the second book James finds out that his mother died, he gets drunk and cheats on Ruby in front of her eyes. Lydia is pregnant and her father kicks her out and she has to live with her aunt Ophelia. Ruby forgives James but then she's kicked out of Maxton Hall because James took a picture of her and Sutton and it looked like they kissed and Cyril gives the picture Jame's Dad who shows it to the headmaster and Ruby's dream to get into Oxford is squashed. But then they are able to prove her innocence and she can return to Maxton Hall. James is forced by his father to work in his company but after some time he leaves everything behind, even his inheritance of the company if I remember correctly. But then he's forced to return cause his father threatens to destroy Ruby's family. Percy his chauffeur tells James that he overheard his father talking to his lawyer after James's mother died and Percy gives him a key that his mother entrusted to him cause they were close friends. James wants to find out what his father is hiding and goes to his mother's room and finds a hidden box opening it and finding the will of his mother who had been the owner of tge company. It says that the new owner of the company shall be Ophelia until James and Lydia are old enough to take over. His father didn't inherit anything at all but he forged the will which said that he was the sole new owner of the company. They confront the father and he has to surrender.

What's missing now is green (unpacking the last boxes, printing out and hanging up pictures of Thailand), orange (reading James' travel report) and turquoise (meeting Lin for a coffee and finding out where it tastes best). "How about here?" asks James. I turn to face him on my rickety desk chair. He's standing between the bed and the small closet, holding a photo of us against the wall. It's the first one we took during the two weeks I accompanied him to Thailand. We were standing in the middle of a street market and hundreds of people were milling around us. But you don't notice any of that in the picture. We are both beaming into the camera, happy and carefree. Every time I look at the photo, I feel transported back to the two best weeks of my life - which is also the reason why I really want to have it hanging in my dorm room. "I think it's a great spot," I reply a little belatedly. James nods and sticks the picture on the wall with a first strip of sticky tape. "I think it's really stupid that you're not allowed to hang frames here." "Doesn't matter. The main thing is that the pictures are hanging," I reply and make a small cross in front of the completed task. "I've still got something for you," says James. I can I hear him step up to the desk next to me and look up at him. He is holding a gift wrapped in brown paper with a white ribbon. I take it in surprise. "What...?" "Open it," he says with a smile. I slowly pull open the bow and unfold the paper. A small wooden picture frame appears, containing another photo. My heart skips a beat. "It's from your farewell party!" "I thought maybe you could put this on your desk. Then we can all watch you study." I can't tear my eyes away from the photo. It was taken in our garden at the beginning of the summer vacation, the night before James and I flew to Thailand. My parents are standing at the very edge next to Ember, Wren, Alistair, Kesh and Lin. Lydia and Graham are smiling broadly at the camera, with Cyril standing right next to them, holding baby Henry in his arms. Unlike the others, he is not looking at the camera, but at Henry, who is clutching his finger. On the other side, James is standing with Rosie in his arms and I'm right next to him, one arm wrapped around his waist, his face leaning against his shoulder. "Unbelievable," I murmur, holding the picture a little closer to my eyes. "That was just two months ago, and Henry and Rosie have already grown twice as big."
"Lydia also keeps saying how scary she thinks it is. I think it's kind of cool. Soon the boys and I can play lacrosse with the two of them." He tries to keep his tone casual, but I can see his expression suddenly darken. "When I come back, I'm sure they won't recognize me." "That's garbage," I say and place the picture on the table. Then I get up and stand in front of James. I put my hands on his hips and stand on tiptoe to nudge my nose against his. "You're only away for four weeks. Besides, you can Skype or Facetime." In three days, James is flying to Bali, where he will be attending seminars on journalistic writing and professional photography. He has built up a small readership over the past few months, and even though the development of his site is progressing slowly, he is having a lot of fun with it. Every time we talk about it or tinker with entries and new layouts together, his eyes literally light up. I've never seen him like this before. And even though it's incredibly painful to be away from him for so long, I'm so happy to see how much his work inspires him. It feels like we've both arrived and yet are on a journey at the same time - he in the world and I in Oxford. Exactly where I've always wanted to be, and exactly where I've always dreamed of being. Only better now that I have James by my side. "I'll bring you something," he says, pulling me close. "Or maybe I'll carve you something this time." I grin. "Something with lots of details and patterns, please." "I'll see what I can do," he mumbles. Then he leans forward to place his lips gently on mine, igniting a firework of emotions in me. I wonder if it will always be like this when he kisses me. When he breaks away from me, I recognize a whole series of promises in his gaze, all of which he will certainly keep before he sets off on his journey. My lips form into a smile of their own accord. "My James," I whisper before pulling him back down to me and kissing him. He sighs against my lips. We've fought for so long to finally be here. So much has happened in the last few months: shattered wishes, hopeful dreams and more love than I ever thought possible. We have fought and saved each other. And that's exactly what we'll continue to do in the future. Every hour, every minute, every second.

Eine so schöne Liebesgeschichte....❤Die Chemie der Schauspieler ist unglaublich.Die Story ist einfach cool. Eine 2. und 3. Staffel wäre mega. Kenne die Bücher zwar nicht, doch die lese ich bestimmt auch noch. Habe die Folgen so durchgeguckt bis morgens. Man konnte einfach nicht aufhören.
