- After we were sent a video of Mersey Rail trains on the Wirral Peninsula in 1994, we watch it to see what has changed between now and then. With the 508 and 507 in their old livery, we also see manual level crossings and semaphore signals.

I remember the tartan seats well
The 507 508 got referbished from 2003 onwards
Class 86 and 73 share no commonality other than being roughly the shame shape.
Leasowe signal box used to have a big "ships wheel" thing to close the gates, was apparently found to be unsafe then the guy doing it by hand was started.
Interesting, so thats why its manual .
What was the extra platform at Birkenhead Park used for? And was platform 3 at Birkenhead North ever used for passengers?
Some of us remember the older trains. We will soon see the new trains on one of the routes on the Wirral.
