The FIH Odisha Hockey Men's Junior World Cup Bhubaneswar 2021 will be the 12th edition of the biggest tournament in U-21 Men's Hockey. This is the third consecutive time that India is hosting the prestigious tournament, which took place in New Delhi in 2013 and in Lucknow in 2016.
A total of sixteen nations will take part. Hosts and defending champions India are grouped in pool B along with Canada, France and Poland. The other teams in the fray include Belgium, Malaysia, South Africa and Chile in pool A, Netherlands, Spain, Korea and United States grouped in pool C while Germany, Argentina, Pakistan and Egypt in Pool D.
Each team is set to play three matches during the league stage over a period of five days. This will be followed by a series of cross-over matches, due to take place on 30 November, followed by knockout matches from 1 December, with a final to decide the champions scheduled for 5 December.

Germany outclassed India in all departments- speed, strength, stamina, skills. India team was clueless, they could not even penetrate to striking circle. No real chances at goal- one goal was against run of play
Physically boys were no match- they looked tired all through out and there was no coordination amongst players even on 1: to 1 they lacked skills of Germans. Overall a disgusting performance - not expected at semi final level

This bodes well that India hosted and successfully organized the 12th edition of the FIH Men's Junior World Cup from November 24 to December 5 at Bhubaneshwar's Kalinga Stadium. However, Indian fans were left disappointed after their team could not make it even to a podium finish as they were defeated by France for the third place even as it was Argentina that won the Cup while Germany remained the runners up! Since, hockey happens to be Indian's national sport. The SAI must take especial note and care of it and leave no stone unturned to provided every possible assistance in this regard to that we may win back our lost hockey grandeur!
It seems Punjabis are a must when there is a match with teams of bigger players
2013 junior world cup was filled with Punjabi players only, that team couldn't get out of group stages and finished 13th out of 16
Preparation lacking in this team. Clueless in defence and offence. Lacked cohesion as a unit . Not enough matches together before the tournament.
We got some really good players for future in this team, good performance overall but germany was too good and we got outplayed

This is a junior team and coach who was at the helm left in this year as an emergency Coach Reid had to take over the team so he didn't have enough time to implement his idea, moreover the team was not together for a long time. The fact that they were able make the semi-final is itself an achievement. However, this midfield corp of the junior needs more fine tuning before they are let in the Senior Side.
