  • The journey to Algonquin Park's rarely visited Boot Lake continues in Part 2 of my first solo trip. With only the insight from Brad Jenning's (Explore the Backcountry) prior trip in this area, I was in for a long day knowing that the portage was potentially missing or not where it says it is on the map. Combined with a wet and windy October day that made paddling and portaging difficult and the stress of knowing that the next day I would have to backtrack the entire route to get out and return the canoe. My first solo trip definitely gave me a good test, and I can't wait until the next one!
🛶 Thank you to Algonquin Outfitters for helping me out with the canoe rental
I'm looking for suggestions on how to properly double blade without getting wet and how to effectively steer the canoe without loosing momentum. Leave any good tips in the comments below 👇
