So if. Guy put the button on and closed the lid before doing the spring hinge, how do you get it open?

Anybody else have issues with that spring? I bought one for my 05 electra glide and the spring broke after being on for less then 2 days. Thought maybe i installed it wrong so i checked out this video and i did all this except pulling the gas cap off and shoving a towel in my tank. I called j&p customer service and was told i couldnt buy a new spring. I would have to buy a whole new kit. Honestly for something that costs more then what is offered at a local harley dealer i would think the quality would be a bit better. Tell ya what though i dont think im gonna buy no more kuryakyn stuff after this experience.

Mine did the same,I bought another and was careful to follow the instructions thinking I may have stuffed something wrong and the spring broke again!! Ended up trying a cheap version off Amazon...18 months later it's still working great.
