I love your review of the GoldenEar BRX that I bought it after doing my own comparison to the JBL L52 (2nd place) and Kef LS50 Meta (distant 3rd place).
The Cardas Parsec RCA improves the realism even more!
I also use 2 sealed subwoofers for fullrange.

I'll keep my fingers crossed that the tweeter of the T66 finds its way into more designs from GoldenEar moving forward.

I have a complete Goldenear setup, including three Triton One Reference speakers as my LCR, combined with a couple of JL 112 Fathom Mk II subs. Very similar to the T66 and just LOVE the setup! I'm a "music first" guy but these do a fantastic job of music and movies. They are also very good on a wide variety of music.

@@kelvinburton5439 I wonder if you still get the Midrange and High Frequency CLARITY as these speakers. Also the REFERENCE LEVELS which are very important to me.

Another great review! Thanks Shane! I've owned GE Triton 7s, ForceField 3s and now their SuperSat 60s with SuperSat 3s and a pair of SuperSub Xs (purchased because of your review!) for a modest living room "theater" and couldn't be happier. I've been very curious about the T66 and how they compare to the Perlisten R series. I am a guy that scoops out most of the annoying 1-4khz and adds a slight rise in the 10khz and 120hz range. Seems like the T66 does that out of the box. Definitely worth an audition based on your great review! Thanks again!

I have the grandfather to the T66 They are the Definitive Technology Mythos ST's with built in powered subs If given a good source they sound really good I use them with 2 SVS Ultra 13 subs and wow can this setup energize a room!

I've auditioned the entire Perlisten R and S lines, and in my opinion they are world class Home Theater speakers, but not world class high end hifi speakers. Exactly for the shortcomings you outlined compared to the T66.
Checkout Paradigm Persona 3f or 5F. They are the sweet spot for two channel as well as HT multichannel enthusiasts. Thanks Shane.

In my 18.5 x 14' room, the GE Triton Reference would be overkill in the bass (12Hz!); the Triton One.R isn't available here, so the T66 would be my choice, I think.

I'm still running old school DefTech BP30s and always felt DefTech's provide a very good value at their price points. I do still get concerned having a powered subwoofer in the towers. Even back then with the BP7000/7001, the amp could fail but the bass output was ridiculous. I continued to read reports of newer models that replaced the BP7000/7001 continue to have amp problems over time so am curious if this has been solved now.

Thanks for the review. Question tho, to make the comparison vs the Perlisten's wouldn't it be fair to do so head to head using the same equipment tho? Either way the G.E.'s appear to be very impressive.

@@therealshanelee Shane, if I missed part of your review and both speakers were reviewed using the exact setup equipment you have my apologies. To clarify my point is, were the Perlisten's reviewed using the same equipment as the T66's since you are comparing them to each other? Like speakers, components can have their own sonic signature and synergy is a thing. Thanks again and I appreciate your reviews ✊🏼

    Hi Shane,
    I enjoyed your review...but...
There is literally no way these are flat to 2hz as shown in the graph, your measurements are likely too low in level (near noise floor) ...but its hard to tell because you are using a 300dB range on the Y axis instead of the (usually) recommended 50-70 dB range.
I mean,if they are, im selling my Seaton Submersives, because even they roll off at 7hz
