AquaREla Pantanal | Returning the colors of the Pantanal

🌊✨ Join us in celebration! Get to know the AquaREla Pantanal Initiative and its achievements up to June 2024! 🌿🌍 An initiative that mobilizes knowledge, people, and various stakeholders, focusing on restoration and contributing to local community development.
The AquaREla Pantanal Initiative has successfully completed an important phase in the first semester of 2024, supported by the project “Recovery of Pantanal Riparian Forests: Benefiting Water, Soil, Fish, and Surrounding Populations of RPPN Sesc Pantanal”. The main objective was to develop the first scientifically based restoration protocol for the Pantanal biome.
The AquaREla Pantanal Initiative is a collective effort involving institutions such as Mupan - Women in Action in the Pantanal, Wetlands International Brazil, Pantanal Research Center (CPP), the National Wetland Institute of Science and Technology (Inau/UFMT), and the Sesc Pantanal Socio-Environmental Center. Financial support includes:
• The Global Environment Facility (GEF), through the “Conservation, Restoration and Sustainable Management Strategies to Enhance Caatinga, Pampa and Pantanal Biodiversity (GEF Terrestrial)” project, coordinated by the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MMA), with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) as the implementing agency and the Brazilian Biodiversity Fund (FUNBIO) as the executor;
• and DoB Ecology, through the Corridor Azul Programme of Wetlands International.

🌊✨ Comemore conosco! Conheça a Iniciativa AquaREla Pantanal e seus avanços até junho de 2024! 🌿🌍 Uma iniciativa que mobiliza conhecimento, pessoas e diversos atores envolvidos, que atua na restauração e contribui com o desenvolvimento local e de comunidades.
A Iniciativa AquaREla Pantanal concluiu neste primeiro semestre de 2024 uma importante fase, com o apoio do projeto "Recuperação de Florestas Ribeirinhas Pantaneiras: beneficiando água, solo, peixes e populações do entorno da RPPN Sesc Pantanal”, que teve como principal objetivo a elaboração do primeiro protocolo de restauração do bioma Pantanal com bases científicas.
A Iniciativa AquaREla Pantanal é realizada de forma coletiva entre as instituições Mulheres em Ação no Pantanal (Mupan), Wetlands International Brasil, Centro de Pesquisa do Pantanal (CPP), Instituto Nacional de Ciência e Tecnologia de Áreas Úmidas (Inau/UFMT) e Polo Socioambiental Sesc Pantanal. Dentre os apoios financeiros estão:
• O Fundo Global para o Meio Ambiente (GEF), por meio do Projeto Estratégias de Conservação, Recuperação e Manejo para a Biodiversidade da Caatinga, Pampa e Pantanal (GEF Terrestre), coordenado pelo Ministério do Meio Ambiente e Mudança do Clima (MMA), com as agências Banco Interamericano de Desenvolvimento (BID), como implementador, e Fundo Brasileiro de Biodiversidade (FUNBIO), como executor; e
• DoB Ecology, via Programa Corredor Azul da Wetlands International.
