I would need to see what has already been done or not done to it to give any real advice. Personally I don't like the mosfet mods because they never seem to sound great on SSB with that mod. The 3 usual mods I like for Cobra 2000 is to volt the final and lower the deadkey and the NPC Mod. Here are some links if you haven't already seen them. These radios all have similar boards to the Cobra 2000 th-cam.com/video/JzRl3NrZCL8/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/nfa1fTExGmA/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/KUO_rgq9U_8/w-d-xo.html I would also like to mention that those 3 Mods, Volting, NPC, and lower the deadkey, are all very easy mods and very easy to reverse if anyone wanted to go back to stock. NPC is just adding a capacitor to the back of the board, Volting is just moving 1 wire, and lower the deadkey is just on tiny jumper wire and turn the deadkey adjustment. Super easy that causes no damage to the board. If you haven't already done the mosfet mod I would keep the stock driver/final. Even if yours are bad those finals are all over the place. You may read all over the internet about how hard the stock final is to find and how rare they are but that's hogwash, every radio shop that does mosfet upgrades has a parts bin full of stock finals.
Picked up a 2000 gtl now doing MOSFET mod has no tx think drive and final shot but what is a good audio mod
