And if there is a way to add this without setting off the down pipe. Thanks again for getting back to me. I am looking to install this exact down pipe with the high flow cat.

    I’m getting mine but isn’t gonna tune it for awhile. Will the engine light do anything to the car? I’m getting a apr stage 2 tune on will that take the code off. Could I still drive it with the engine code without any problems?

    • @HardwayLearning
      @HardwayLearning  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it will eventually throw a CEL, but it is safe to drive. The only concern is you won't immediately be aware of any faults unless you regularly scan the car. I'd double check that APR still offers stage 2, last I heard they couldn't anymore because of emissions.

    • @HardwayLearning
      @HardwayLearning  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The stock CAT is in the downpipe right next to the turbo outlet so you can not. The midpipe of the CTS downpipe includes their cat or a straight pipe depending on which version you select. Without it, you would not have a long enough section to connect to your resonator/muffler.

      If you just want more sound I would change out the muffler portion downstream of the downpipe. You could try running an aftermarket downpipe and an O2 spacer to prevent CEL, but I think that can be a little touch and go.

      You could lose power if the car ends up over boosting and going into limp mode, but that seems unlikely. It's more likely it will get a check engine light for secondary O2 cat efficiency which is more of a nusance than anything. I ran stage 2 with a downpipe and no intercooler for a while. • @HardwayLearning
      @HardwayLearning  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are two o2's, the one reading before the cat is telling the car what the fuel mixture is and the one downstream is reading whether or not your cat is working properly for emissions. On a tuned car, the second one is typically shut off and ignored.
