- Elliot and Mr. Robot make peace in order to reverse the 5/9 hack, teaming up to face an even bigger enemy - Whiterose and the Dark Army.
From Mr Robot Season 3 Episode 10 "shutdown -r"
Dominique and Darlene, kidnapped by Santiago after finding out his double agent status, and Elliot are brought to an abandoned barn. Santiago and Dominique go outside to Irving where Santiago is killed and Dominique is forced to be the new FBI mole. Inside, Whiterose’s assistant Grant prepares to kill Elliot and Darlene. Elliot devises a plan to move Whiterose’s plant to the Congo sooner, which Elliot is allowed to try. Grant kills himself when Whiterose says he is no longer of any use. Elliot succeeds in moving the plant and the ordeal comes to an end with everyone safe. Darlene tries apologising to Dominique but she refuses the apology out of hatred. Dominique gives Elliot access to the FBI, where he learns that Romero wasn’t responsible for the encryption keys; instead, Mr. Robot saved them, as it is what Elliot would want. The two make peace and vow to bring down the true villains of the world as Elliot reverses Five/Nine. Meanwhile, Angela is brought to Phillip Price’s house, where he reveals to her that he is her actual father and convinces her of Whiterose’s villainous nature. In a post-credits scene, Darlene is confronted by Vera in front of Elliot’s apartment.

They show a scene from the first Christopher Reeve Superman movie. Specifically, it’s after the earthquake, and Superman spins around the planet so fast, that it causes the earth to rotate in the opposite direction, which causes time to reverse itself and undo some of the damage from the earthquake. Very apt for what happens in this scene.

Also a side note; the Steganography method in which Mr Robot embedded the seed data and algorithm in the file is an image of Elliot and his father dressed up as Marty McFly and Doc Brown from Back to the Future. The writing is just so incredible in this show. Very apt indeed
It also makes Elliot's actions in this scene parallel Whiterose's (and later Angela's) attempts to reverse death. Superman reverses time in the scene on the teleivison precisely because Lois Lane has just died.
Whiterose is shown as delusional for thinking she can reverse death so it's perplexing thematically. It makes one wonder what distinguishes Elliot.
And it goes further than that. There's a bunch of people sitting on the street watching that on the TVs, and Elliot walks past between the watchers and the screens. They're watching Super-Man reverse time, both when they're looking at the screens and when Elliot blocks their view.

His dad abused him, that's why he jumped (4x07)... but then what about Last Episode of Season 3 when Darlene said he started breaking stuff and jumped. My question: what about his dad's cancer? Did his dad abuse him because he told on him for having leukaemia? or did Leukaemia have nothing to do with it?
@@boardingurban I doubt the cancer had anything to do with it. His dad was probably abusing him way before he got sick, I guess elliot just had enough of everything that was happening and that's why he jumped
3:46 The Superman scene with the music still gives me fucking chills every time. The parallel of trying to turn back time is genius
The scene is so cathartic. Imagine being so blindingly determined to do something, and then being in denial that you made the wrong choice. After finally accepting he made a mistake, he finds he has a chance to fix his mistake, and the fix had come from a part of himself all along. And in the moment he has the email in front of him, it’s like he has the power of god in his hands. The power this guy wields is incredible at points in this show, he is like a superman.
He's not like Superman. If Elliot was he would have been there for all his friends. Instead all of them were killed. In fact that's one of my biggest flaws of the show was that Elliot wasnt a hero. The writers made him too flawed to be one. But I still love the show.
@@nomadfatherhood isn’t that kind of the point? It’s hardly a show about absolute good and definitely encourages the idea that absolute good doesn’t exist. Elliot being a hero would have made the show less interesting and important and real

Honestly one of my favourite 7 mins of TV - incredible score, great music choice and such an amazing end to the season. Such a nice parallel to season 1 when he found out Mr Robot was his father (complete with M83 music)

After seeing the photos of him with his father made the revelation in the final season even more tragic and heartbreaking. Knowing that those photos hid a real horror.
What is the horror? I have never seen the show. I've been watching it by clips. I don't even know why it came up as a recommendation. Ugh i need to watch it from the start.

This is my favorite moment of the show, Eliot finally made peace with Mr.Robot and he take the first step of making everything right once and for all and also Mr.robot finally starts listening to Eliot and asking for his friendship, Mr.Robot is my favorite show ever.

@@reisu_3708 I don't really agree with that- 4 was rapid-fire, but beautifully realised and fleshed out, which is much, much better than a bloated show overstaying its welcome (people often point to thinks like Whiterose's machine, but that was always meant to be without explanation). Sam always said 4-5, but they made the (right, and hard) call for 4.

Rami Malek is one the best actors ever, I'm glad he finally got the recognition he deserved after Mr. Robot and Bohemian Rhapsody.

Appreciated how Eliot came to terms with himself.
New to this show and I am kicking myself for putting off watching it until now. Mr. Robot is a masterclass in pacing, writing, music choice, acting, editing, cinematography etc. I am consistently blown away every episode. and god the feeling this finale gave me ESPECIALLY when something as simple as M83s intro kicks in, right as Matt Reeves Superman cries out in anguish, flying away, to turn back time...man..I don't know how to describe what I felt. But I do know this, I'm gonna be telling people to watch Mr. Robot till the day I die.
This is the best season finale ever made.
I always knew... when he said 'I jumped... I wasn't pushed... did you know that?', with the M83 Intro, it was the start of re-integration. Elliott, Mr- Robot, and as we know... MasterMind, had to have truth to start the re-integration process. And full integration completed with M83 Outro. Easily the best written series I've ever seen. I've watched it 10x start-to-finish and I still find things that I missed in earlier viewings.
The terminal and command lines used in this scene captures and aligns with real world in my opinion.
In your "opinion".....this isn't an opinion thing either the commands are correct and used in a legit context or they aren't.....if you actually knew anything about IT you would have just said they are real commands used properly not 'it aligns with real world in my opinion"
When Elliot scrolled to the top of the email (to ensure he copied the whole key) before hitting send is makes this show truly stand out. The whole production team did an amazing job in sprinkling in small details like that throughout the whole series. Truly an experience you have to watch multiple times...I am on another rewatch and find myself surprised on how much I missed on my first viewing!
Love this scene even more after season 04.

02:32 The most important line , same was in the start of the season
Its just the little things about the show. The insane minute detail in the writing that really lets you dive into the world and get to know the characters on a very personal level. Like when you find out Trenton named herself after her little brothers birth place. How that connects to Elliot not committing suicide. To Trenton and Mobley ACTUALLY being forced to suicide. Its genius.
Take it further, Trentons brother was her purpose for hacking. He was also Elliots purpose to continue living. And then Trenton and Mobley being part of White Rose/Mr Robot's bigger respective purposes.
I just cried watching this, no reason at all, i just kimd of shed some tears of joy, great show

Just finished season 3 and it's just so good! On to season 4 now and I've heard it's amazing, been hooked since the beginning.
God not only was this show top notch, the song choices were on point. Using M83 - Intro in this scene was just 👌🏼👌🏼
And then once again featuring M83 with M83 - Outro in the final scene of the show.
Please make the video when Elliot entered a basement and won the CTF Competition . That was a really cool scene.

The best ending to a season in television history
This is some of the best produced minutes of tv....EVER. The music was perfect.
Just recently realized they used the M83 song Intro to finish off this season and introduce the next one. Then they used the Outro song to finish off the series. And it all fit so perfectly! God I love this show!
SPOILER*
The ones who play Gods without permission - said the Mastermind. Love this parallel.
He said "I'm gonna take 'em down." and he took down both the fake gods of real world and the fake god of his world.
At the end the only one playing god was himself, so he gave up control, sort of like the end of Terminator 2

Spoiler end of the show
Mr Robot is here to push the Mastermind doing his stuff so he get back and let the real Elliot back into life. He's here to help the real Elliot waking up.
When Mr Robot said "undoing the hack? Who's going to help? " and Elliot said "me", you can see Mr Robot instantly stopped arguing. Because it's one of the few time The Mastermind is speaking about how to heal himself and that's what MR Robot want.
Guys during the whole show, Mr Robot is the good guy. The Elliot we saw was kinda...the villain in a way.

Line that real Elliot created MR Robot in his chilhood (in past) like his better father and then Mastermind meet MR Robot (in present) and they fix future for real Elliot its little like "Back to the future" movie line
I see a parallel in this:
Mr. Robot tells Elliot to use the title of a photo of a good memory with Elliot's dad as a key to cancel the 5/9 operation as if it never happened
Previously, Mr. Robot used good memories with Elliot's father to override Elliot's bad memories with him, as if the bad things Elliot's father (born 5/9!) did never happened.
(As we know Mr. Robot was a key to all Elliot's memories)
P.S. And Mr. Robot himself is like a character from “Back to the Future” (from that photo) because in the past he appeared to help Elliot in his childhood, in the present he came to Mastermind to help him make Elliot’s life better and help him in the future come out into life..

The 10th Doctor Well actually Mastermind trapped real Elliot and took over his body, while MrRobot was created to protect Elliot. So from Elliot’s perspective their colors are swapped. But I guess it works vice versa too
Ivan 3man MM had a strict moral code though that Mr Robot didnt follow. He was against hurting people, him black hatting was his way of connecting to people because its the only way he could due to his anxiety. Id say both of them aren’t whitehats, but MR is more of a black hat than MM

I feel like this would be a good ending if it stopped at 3 seasons. Four feels like an explanation to the post credit scene. But 4 is still as good as the other seasons.
