For me this version is at least as good as Wembley: NW playing for their own folks, band happy, Floor happy (her parents are in the audience). If you want to see more of Floor and some impressions of her in Tampere, there is a Dutch TV show “The Class” where the TV crew is following her in Tampere (English subtitles)
Shudder Before the Beautiful live… one of the best concert openings I’ve ever seen. Ladies and gentleman…start your engines. The show has begun.😀🤘 Kai in “Beast Mode”…as usual👍👍 What a “blow your mind” way to start a show!
Yep, set opener, also the Endless Forms Most Beautiful album opener. The "Beautiful" refers to the beauty of the Earth itself , and all it has to offer. The song features the first keyboard/guitar duel in about 15 years , at the time. Yes, Tampere is in Finland, this was a home game for them. lol Btw, Tampere is a 3 syllable word. Did you catch Floor saying it here? She says it again later, a bit clearer, in the intro to Stargazers. Also , check out The Islander at this concert, Marko is on lead vocals.

About those "brass backing tracks". This is not a fact but an observation I have made. In many of their live recordings, when the camera angle is right, one can actually see what seems to be Tuomas playing majority of the brass sections from his keyboard. By no means could he play all of the different orchestral instrumentation in all songs - not humanly possible, but its often surprising how much he seems to be able to do live by simultaneously playing different instruments on left/right hand on his keyboards.
Great shout out the the early masters Blackmore & Lord. Finland plays tons of metal on their popular radio stations. All the best to you guys and the band.
The album "Endless forms most beautiful", that included this song, hit #1 on the charts in Europe and was #34 in the Billboard Top 200 in the states. Since no one listens to radio anymore, the song "Shudder before the beautiful" has had 15 million streams on Spotify and 15 million views on the official Nightwish TH-cam channel 😁
Nice Reaction Guys! Great opening song! If you haven't listened to the song Stargazers from this same concert you should. Floor says before the song that it has been off the Nightwish setlist for 10 years (since Tarja left) and she sings the song like Tarja in her Classical Singing Voice. If you can find one with the lyrics it will help alot.
In Nightwish Official site, the Wembley 2015 concert live video of this song has 13M views (Nightwish - Shudder Before The Beautiful (OFFICIAL LIVE) - 13M views - 6 years ago). I always love the "Glorious Transition", good traditions should be kept in menu ;)
If you want to see drums, check out Tribal. Kai said he had to put 5 more drums on his kit to play what Tuomas wrote. Might be interesting. I think you can see it at Masters of Rock.
Now gents that's how you open a show. Epicness right there on that stage. Crazy how I'd never heard of Nightwish or Floor until around 18 months ago. 🙏😊👍❤️
in finland metal is played like top forty and rap is played here. there are more metal bands per capita than any other country. and nightwish is the most successful finnish band so i suppose every nw song has been played.
Great reaction guys. First time I have seen this performance. Usually most reactors do Wembley and that is what I watch when watching on my own. Overall it is a great performance. I would highly recommend you guys watch the Wembley version if only for yourself. Wembley and Tampere concerts are on the same DVD (different discs) for the Vehicle of Spirit tour. I like the Wembley version of this song a little better. The vibe is more aggressive and a little higher energy. The vibe here strikes me as more contemplative and strong. I also think the audio at Wembley is better. The vocals are higher in the mix and that guitar/keyboard battle is brighter. If you guys want to hear something really radio friendly then I recommend the first single from Endless Forms Most Beautiful, Elan. It would be a good one to do a double reaction with the official music video and then a live version. The official music video is very cool with lots of famous Finnish actors and Floor dressed as a beautiful 40's big band singer is the cherry on the top. Lots of good quality live performances as well (Wembley, Tampere, Sydney, Buenos Aries, Islander Arms pandemic live stream, Hellfest).
Nice reaction guys, listen to the 2018 lives in Argetnina/Buenos Aires, my favorites are Slaying the dreamer, Getsemane and many more of this show.....Thanks peace and rock ✌🤘
I love so much that you made reference to Jon Lord and Ritchie Blackmore. Deep Purple is my all time favorite band, and this song always makes me think of them. Actually, there's quite a bit about Nightwish that reminds me of Deep Purple. 🤘💜
There have been a lot of songs from Nightwish that have been playing and are still playing on the radio in Finland (even the old songs). They play a lot of metal or rock on the radio if you listen to those radio stations like Radio Rock....
Great job, as always, guys! This is a pretty special concert. The venue is great, it's on their home turf, Floor's parents are in the audience, and it contains some of their most memorable performances ever. In fact, the show closer, "The Greatest Show on Earth," might be my favorite performance by anyone ever. Regarding "Shudder Before the Beautiful," I think most would agree that the Wembley version is the definitive version, but this version is pretty great too. Just a fantastic show opener, following another great show opener, "Dark Chest of Wonders," that preceded it on their previous tour. Next recommendation from this show, "Stargazers" is pretty awesome, and quite a bit different from everything you've heard so far. It would be interesting to hear your take on it.
NIGHTWISH's album 'Endless Forms Most Beautiful' where Shudder Before The Beautiful is the opening track Cracks U.S. Top 40. They have 14 singles that has been number 1 on the charts in Finland. And the album Once(2004) is listed on Rolling Stones. The 100 Greatest Metal Albums of All Time
Finnish rock radios have more than 10 Nightwish songs in their normal rotation, old and new songs. Not 100% sure, but I don't think Shudder is one of them. It has probably been played sometimes. Nightwish is very good for radio. Radio programmers just have to be smart enough to put them there.
Other outstanding performances from this concert: The Islander, Silent Sun. Honestly, if there is only one song you guys ever listen to from this sow: THE ISLANDER
Please watch the song 10th man down. From Buenos Aires. You love Floor and Marco singing together. And this is a song people do not ask much. But its a great song to
It is a great song with a strong rythm and melodyline / hook (what you call radio-ready..), if relatively straighforward compared to some of the more complex Nightwish compositions and arrangements. I think the reason this has only 34k views is that this Tampere recording of it is relatively unknown. Most people listen to the official Wembley Version of this song, which has 13 million views (!) This one is great too, but personally I like the Wembley version just a little bit better. (but the difference is only small.., both are great!)
The music landscape in Finland is obviously very different to the awful one we now have in the UK - very sad considering the great bands we once produced. Nightwish have 13 number 1 singles at home and have scored big hits right across Europe.🇬🇧🤘🤘
I liked the video but would like to notify that there's some issue with the audio, some low noise/undertone picked up when you speak. Is it your mic / settings or just my headphones?
Still think that the Wembley concert had much better staging, a better set list and more energy but some people are obsessive about Tampere because the band were on ‘Home ground’
The sound quality was better here, IMO. Much less muffled sound and more bright, and Floor's voice was more clear, since she had not just been sick here. Somehow the Tampere show was a bit more joyful of a performance, if you will. I was there! 🤘 But I agree, the setlist was better at Wembley.
I love this version very much but for me the Wembley version is slightly better and I think it has to do with being an indoor concert. Everything sound just a little clearer. BTW guys... Floor said welcome Tam- puh-ruh not Tampier as in Pier one LOL
You know I was on your guys side when you decided to chuck Gabriel’s list but I say, you two are really blowing it. The best live video and performance of this song is the Wembley performance. That was what I recommended to you. As much as I don’t like Gabriel and his little list, you guys are actually making the case why his list is valuable 😔
@@dazjackson1972 You know the Wembley performance is the superior performance and the better shot performance. And screw Gabriel. He forces his list on everyone so that every reaction channel are doing the same exact videos in the exact same order. I’m a fan of Nightwish, not the supreme fanboy for them. Someone has to tell it like it is dude. If you want to make me out to be the bad guy for that, I’ll take it. Not all heroes wear capes right.
In my opinion Wembley is slightly better and the only song from Tampere that should be done over the Wembley version is THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH stick with IMO Nightwish's 2nd best concert on youtube which is Wembley
Business idea: I'd pay big bucks for a button that mutes the bald guy. Extra dollars if you move the pause button away from him. He seriously is extra annoying.
For me this version is at least as good as Wembley: NW playing for their own folks, band happy, Floor happy (her parents are in the audience). This concert was special for Floor because her parents were in the audience.
Shudder Before the Beautiful live… one of the best concert openings I’ve ever seen.
Ladies and gentleman…start your engines. The show has begun.😀🤘
Kai in “Beast Mode”…as usual👍👍
What a “blow your mind” way to start a show!
THE performance from this concert to watch is "The greatest show on earth"...
Why so few views for this version? Because everyone cannot get away from the Wembley version on the official Nightwish channel 13 million!!!!
Still pretty popular too - ticking away at about 5,000 daily views.🇬🇧🤘🤘
Love the part when banging the anvil starts, it's always a call to the audience to start massive chant, adrenaline to the max.
Magnificent opener! Thanks for doing the great song.
This was a magnificent performance, however I feel that the Wembley performance really blew the roof off the place.
This makeup is osome..❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤..such a beauty..

More Nightwish please ❤
And THAT is how you open a damn show!
I love Tuomus's smile 😊
Standout tracks for me from Tampere are "The Islander" (a Marco showcase), "Sleeping Sun" (a Floor showcase), and "My Walden" (a Troy showcase)!
Yess to all!
One of the best concert ever in modern music
Great shout out the the early masters Blackmore & Lord.

Hello again guys. Loved this entire show and this show opener is spectacular... both here and at Wembley 2015. Terrific reaction. Thank you.

I rarely see the Tampere version used for this and weak fantasy - most use Wembley which is awesome.
It was nice to see a different one.
Tuomas writes both lyrically, and instrumental arrangement phenomenally. Always phenomenal. Thanks for the reaction.

Marco is not the only singer (other than Floor), but it could be backing tracks prerecorded. Floor's parents were at this concert.
This live recording is better than mostly studio versions! cause they have the best grew to do it!
Man, that Deep Purple reference was gold! Thanks for that!
