A tremolo master. Roland had such a unique sound: it was both gentle and powerful, such a profound sense of time and note spacing. I spent two summers learning from him at Nashcamp when I first started playing. I will always appreciate how kind he was to me and other young players
I just discovered this fantastic video which will be oh, so helpful as I endeavor to play better on my 43 Gibson A that I inherited from my Grandmother. I named the instrument Dolly after her! I took her back to Gibson for neck planing and new nut and bridge last spring and now look forward to beautiful music together : D Thanks for helping to teach me what my grandmother no longer can. God Bless!!
Cool lesson. This helped a lot with where to rest my back hand and letting it move as well. Plus to not letting my free fingers rest on instrument. And to hold tight! Other examples left most out.
I like your method on the wrist movement. Makes more sense, although I'm mere a beginner. Watched a video that suggested we practice tremolo every night.
I guess since there are a lot of other Roland White videos here I assumed you knew he plays and teaches bluegrass mandolin. I will add "bluegrass" to the description.

Enjoyed the video! What mandolin are you playing?
It doesn't have the fretboard extension, Maybe a custom made one?
invaluable lesson
Can you play Waltzing Matilda for me please, you're a brilliant player. Thank you for your videos. :)
Think it was intended to be a lesson for begginers.
