Something interesting about Kouki: her last name Yukishiro translates to snow and white, in the childhood flashback she's wearing a ribbon headband like the Disney portrayal of Snow White, and her supernatural ability as we saw last chapter is summoning those small humanoid creatures similar to the dwarves from Snow White.

For me she reminds me a lot of okarun. He used to be "invisible" and was constantly being trampled by everyone. But okarun was lucky enough to have friends that love him. Maybe okarun would be the one to deeply relate to kouki in the future that there are outcasts like her that would gladly become her friends.
Also, maybe the personality that okarun has when in turbo granny form is his true inner feeling deep inside.
Kouki's experience as a child prodigy losing momentum as she got older mirrors Kana's experience in the first season of Oshi No Ko.
Tatsu isn't even baiting the sympathy this time. Just in your face right away. Makes me scared this arc might go in a different direction then even Dandadan is known for, keep your guard up

So things I noticed not mentioned in video. On page 8 when you see kouki in her flashback holding the trophy. The girl to the right of her just outside the panel is young Aira. Hair matches exactly as she did when she was young, ahoge and all.
Kouki's last name is Yukishiro (characters are literally Snow and White= so the dwarf people will probably be her power).
Her mystery blackmailer seems to be a red herring for saint germain/sanjome. Probably someone else who knows how to also steal powers.
I think it is SG that is blackmailing her. I think the reason why he is hiding away from her is so she won’t forget him. Maybe something about seeing SG fully makes you forget him the moment he leaves. For whatever reason, he needs her working for him for a period of time and needs to talk to her frequently so her forgetting him every time he leaves would be a hassle for him. The mystery figure gives her the “yield condition knife” so it’s probably SG.

this chapter honestly made me sad because i relate to Kouki a lot because I've been a classically trained singer since was 9 and as i got older i didn't really see that much success when tried to strike out because a lot of people don't really have that much interest in classical music and the moments where it looks like she was selling her body for attention gave me Metamorpasis flash backs and hated it even more

Yeah pretty much identical, also the color shade is the same
I noticed too. Maybe it is her, and they have some kind of connection
Kouki is basically the opposite of Aira when she was introduced:
-Aira was beloved by everyone, while Kouki is invisible. It's also shown in how both of them are drawn; Aira as a confident beautiful girl and Kouki as a hunchbacked, not-traditionaly beautiful girl.
-Aira's family (AKA her dad) loves her, while Kouki's family doesn't. Her younger sister even got a more beautiful name than her...
They also have similarities:
-Both are introduced with something relating to the main problem. Aira found the first kintama, and thought she was the chosen one. And Kouki was the first person outside of the main characters to see Tiny Momo.
-Both were introduced properly in a chapter with the word "woman" it its name. "A Dangerous Woman" for Aira. And "A Suspicious Woman" for Kouki (And Aira's chapter name didn't even refer to her).
-Both have the word "white" in their family name.
Aira got less popular in school after she joined Momo and Okarun's group (which included only them at the time), so I hope the opposite will happen to Kouki; meaning she'll get popularity from it.
Also, two more things:
1.In Kouki's flashback when she won first place, you can see Aira there in third/second place.
2.I liked how they immediately made a line when Sanjome said not to run, but when he was out of sight they begun running again.

Im predicting that Kouki will end up "joining" the gang, but then end up getting killed by CSG after this. This arc could be an inversion of the typical dandadan arc (new setting, new weird character, new enemy, character backstory). We start with Kouki's backstory, sympathize with her, and I can see CSG sending some new yokai or alien to take her out.

i KNEW she was gonna be great. I dont remember if i comented on your video from the last chapter but i knewww it. She reminds me of someone i used to know a while ago who was a really cool. I really like this new girl in the story. Koukis whole situation and life resonates so much with me. I really hope she is able to escape from the kitchen some how. I'm unsure if she should be fought with by the main gang. I want someone to see Kouki as just a person and not while shes in distress or in a difficult situation. Possibly Brella Boy or the Police dad. Even a random run in with turbo granny would be interesting. Its like when Toph ran into Iroh (atla) and he imparted some important life lessons to her. I think it would be nice if there were some seperation from her current situation when someone cares for her. Originaly i was thinking one of the main cast like Momo or one of the boys but then with the context of the pics i think it should be someone interested by her. I dont really want it to be the girl who is cursed by Kawabunga because its a possible music conection and tbh if i was her i would want tp be known for more things than my music.
This was suuch a good chapter and my rant was long but i really hope she gets the right kind of attention and in the right context because both of those things may be very important for her

I thought the shadow was count saint germain since she had the same little cutter thing that he had both during the fight with the fairy yokai dude and as a teacher. He did do the same for Zuma where he got him to do stuff for him, but Zuma in the end didnt remember how he looked or whatnot, so it just made sense to me it's him all over again.
This might not be correct but I think CSG only talked with Zuma once. After Zuma did what CSG needed him to do, he left and thus Zuma forgot him. CSG for whatever reason needs this girl to work for him for a longer period of time than Zuma and needs to communicate with her more often. I think this is why he hides himself from her. Forgetting CSG probably requires you to seeing him fully in person or something like that which is why he is hiding himself. The guy in the locker talks about the yielding condition which implies it is CSG and the blackmailer is shown having the yield condition knife which also implies it is CSG.
Am i trippin or does the girl standing next to kouki during the flashback scene look kinda similar to Aira
I wonder if it is the one teacher where he was asking about his chair if he is the culprit and besides that I was thinking what if the group met another student who had the 100 eyed yokai and they would be able to help the group find Kouki it would be interesting too if the student was a photographer and since Kouki play the musician it would be an interesting pairing

I kindof hope Kouki gets either killed or greviously injured to the point of being unable to joun the group at the end of the arc. I feel as if the cast has just gotten a little too big, and cracks are already starting to show (for example I personally feel as if Aira and especially Jiji are fading into the background, and I also worry Vamola and Sakata are going to become irrelevant now that their arcs are mostly concluded). We don't know whether or not Zuma is going to come back or if the end of the last arc wrote him out semi-permanently, so I will withold judgement on him, but Rin already felt like she rocked the ship a little too much. I also feel as if continually introducing more classmate characters may be a misstep, as I feel like introducing more characters like Mr. Shrimp or Rokuro who can just kindof come and go instead of always being around not doing much is the right way to take stories with large casts like Dandadan.
Anyways, I agree with you in the sense that I doubt the person manipulating Kouki is Saint Germain, however I do predict whoever it is is directly connected to Saint Germain. Perhaps they are rivals or perhaps comrades, I don't know, but it appears Saint Germain and this shadowy mystery man are working towards the same goal of collecting paranormal abilities, so it would be one hell of a coincidence if they were entirely unrelated.
I 100% agree with you here. As much as I love Dandadan & Jiji he is turning into a gag character and I feel like Tatsu forgot about Evil Eye Tuesdays, I hope I am wrong. Plus Vamola and Aira have taken a huge back seat but at least Vamola is still about to get content in the future chapters, it's still likely that she may reunite with her native people as foreshadowed, her arc definitely hasn't concluded. I am really worried about Aira & Jiji
Plus it's going to get repetitive that that they be recruiting every damaged person with a sad back story. I don't want Dandadan to fall of so badly but Tatsu is unpredictable writer so I trust that he prove this fear wrong.
Kinta Sakata was obviously mean't to be a gag character from the start and I appreciate him for what he is even though most don't seem to like him. He doesn't need fleshing out like the others

I've only just finished the Cursed House arc but I understand Turbo Granny has left the group currently, and she is known to comfort the souls of women in some capacity. Maybe this new character can be helped and possibly find comfort from Turbo somewhere out there. I used to hate anime/manga. Thought naruto, one piece, demon slayer, and edgy chainsawman to be weeb trash... then I discovered Dandadan (yes the anime awoken me idc) and I'm obsessed

I dont think the cast has already gotten too big YET. But I DO feel like that point is coming soon enough if they keep recruiting everyone. BUT I KNOW my goat Tatsu Sensei would not let something like that slide.
I think what should happen in the structure of story is that Jiji+Evil Eye and Aira and Rin get their seperate time to shine once again.
And after that I think having them either be constantly involved in some way OR having them drop by the group occasionally like mr shrimp is the way to go.
I think Rin should follow the 2nd route, jiji should follow the 1st, and aira a mix of both.
In that way everything will be more balanced. Vamola's arc is still in progress so Im not worried.

Sad to say, but I don't think Kouki is getting saved like all the others. The one thing people like Zuma and the class rep had that allowed the main crew to get through to them is human connection, which is the very thing Kouki has lost. I don't think the gang will be able to dissuade her from working with Saint Germaine because to her, they're part of the very people who torture her daily
That would a wonderful twist as dark as it is. I feel like the end result was getting predictable now. I don't want Dandadan to be formulaic

Less of a backstory and more a circumstance. She JUST got into the predicament she did. It can most certainly get worse
It makes the writing better tbh. Most people reading Dandadan dont suffer absolutely horribly tragic fates. But this is much more real, even though it may not be as viscerally violent and hard hitting as other pasts. I like it cuz of how close it hits to home for so many people. To me you dont need to one up tragedy after tragedy. This is a better way to do it for me.
