    I've been doing a little snow wheeling alone in Utah in my Gladiator lately. It's sometimes scary! I need a winch so bad! Need a new font bumper first. I'm out here camping alone in the snow right now. I have to, it's my therapy.

      Great video as always! Tire size and wheel name and size please. Can’t find it again in the other videos. My two door should be done being built in a couple months hopefully. If I’m not mistaken you got 35’s with no lift. Think you will ever do a lift?

    Not a bad vid bro. Some great tire tips, that being said, IMHO, BFG AT's are THE best all around trail tire. Couple things to note, A......4LOW is your friend. B...........when winching, you really don't need to spin your tires. this may slide you sideways, (trees), when you don't want to and/or dig you deeper, (high-center). Provided your winch is adequately powered, let the winch do most of the work. Cheers..........G

    Here in the GREAT PNW AKA WASHINGTON STATE we use M/T. Mud tires in the mountain snow they work way better than any bfg all terrain. Neve would have pulled winch line with the correct tires

  • @Oikodomosss
    @Oikodomosss ปีที่แล้ว +1

    When you're riding with M/T's in thee snow you just need more power to spin the wheel and get rid of the snow in the threads

    Something I don't understand... Why don''t more Jeep owners run actual Winter tires? A proper set of Blizzaks would outperform A/T tires in snow and be a HUGE improvement on ice for daily driving. We run Blizzaks on our JLU and it is really good. We don't do much snow wheeling so not sure about that, but I see Jeeps sliding around on the roads all around here in NE Ohio in the Winter. A/T tire suck on ice compared to a dedicated Winter tire. Just wonder why more people don't run them?

    • @SeekTheOpen
      @SeekTheOpen  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Winter tires do not handle being aired down well, thin sidewalls, and tread pattern does not grab and grip the terrain you find off-road. Also not made in off-road tires sizes (for the reason mentioned). A three peak rated A/T will not slip and slide on winter roads.

    • @jonnyspeed
      @jonnyspeed ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SeekTheOpen that’s a good point, but an A/T tire vs. A Winter tire on ice is no competition. The Winter will destroy the A/T in grip and stopping on ice. I guess it comes down to where you do most of your driving. Around me in NE Ohio Jeeps spend most of their time on road. We have to go looking for off-road trails. Either way, didn’t mean to sidetrack the conversation. Just found the channel. Like the content so far.

    Could you have used a traction board to get out instead of a winch (at least the first time when you centered on the bump)? Thanks for the video!

    • @SeekTheOpen
      @SeekTheOpen  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      If I had used boards before I got stuck as a ramp then probably, but I doubt they would’ve worked after getting stuck, would not have fit in between the tire and step and putting up front wouldn’t do much, needed momentum or to be pulled forward hard.

  • @keithlea6804
    @keithlea6804 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Your tires really start to get traction under 10 psi
    I run 6 psi on my 96 Cherokee. When i had my rock buggy i could run 2 psi without loosening a bead. Just keep in mind to be easy on the skinny pedal with low air pressure.

  • @WolfOverland

    Wondering how the downhill slide went with the Jeeps abs system. Did you hold the brake all the way down or just let the gearing do all the work?

    • @SeekTheOpen
      @SeekTheOpen  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The downhill assist is fine, makes a lot of noises. I prefer to put it in 4L 1st gear and let it roll

    • @SeekTheOpen
      @SeekTheOpen  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Winter tires don’t come in the sizes I would run on a Wrangler. Even if they did a good all-terrain tire with 3 peak snow ratings will be better on and off road for a Wrangler. Can’t go wrong with KO2 or Falken Wildpeak A/T3W
