It works for the song and the Gypsy vibes they have going with it too. Should’ve just got a seven string or a detuner for the song lol. Makes no sense to do that work of tuning it for one tiny section…
It’s got such a theatrical vibe to it. This album is going to be very artsy and just unlike everything else. They take risks and I always like when musicians do that.
My guess is because it’s only for one short section that they play the low B and playing a seven string on a song thats 99,9% six string would just complicate things even more 😅 Opeth doing songs on seven strings sounds interesting, though!
Going off the drummer. I noticed they extended a few parts a few measures to let the music breathe when I saw them live twice this last us tour. Love it. Real musicianship
@@МеломанБаяновwhy the stupid questions about growl? I don't know how long you've been listening to Opeth? I didn't listen to them because of the growl, but I didn't judge, I knew it was my prejudice. After a year, I fell in love with growl, but I really fell in love. It's a vocal artistic expression as well as distortion on the guitar.
OMG, Mikael is really tuning his E string down to B and up just for this one fragment. Now I know why it's surrounded by pure bass 😂

This is a grower, after listening dozens of times it is now my current favorite song.
This is incredibly powerful; syncopation, every instrument and the magical voice of Mikal...♥️

Long may Åkerfeldt do what he loves, and i for one will be there for the ride! 🙌🏻
Just here to see him tune down
I think if I ever meet Mikael in person I ask him why he didn't switch to a 7-string for this track! 😀

why not simply use a drop effect. with all the digital equipment available these days, why make life as complicated as it is?
@@yannickkerriou7446 of course a good Idea. But it sounds Bit muddy if the effect is too high
Does opeth play to a click ? Seems like they were just going off drummers que there going into the last section.

А Opeth когда то играли весёлую музыку?))

Just realize Mikael has to tune the guitar mid-song, so they play the pauses a little longer
