    to anyone stuggling, many UK/AU nurses (including myself) have successfully managed to obtain eligbility from NY BON without having to make up any hours! just another workaround if you don't want to complete extra clinical hours. you can eventually have your NY license endorsed to most states as well.

    Thank you Lola. You dished a full plate of information here.
    In your video with Jenny, you talked about being a work from home nurse. Actually, I do work from home. I like it and I'm interested in it. Pls, can you talk about work from home RN? What are the chances of getting work from home RN in the States or UK from Nigeria? Which healthcare firm can recruit an interested employee. I will appreciate getting recommended for work from home.

      Thank you for joining. That’s a very good question and I wish it was one I could give you some good news for. So initially if going USA From africa and you work from home in a none clinical area like a hospital the chance are very slim to none. Most US recruiters require that you have current bedside care. I would suggest trying to get some bedside nursing care under your belt before applying. Now once you have got your foot in the door there are plenty of opportunities to work from home. Hope this helps. 🥰

      Thank you Lola for taking your time to reply me.
      Yes, I have clinical experience. My experience as a bedside Registered Nurse from Nigeria is over 5 years & remote RN is also a familiar ground as I also work digital healthcare enterprise in Nigeria, with branches across Sub-saharan Africa. You know that confidence one has in her capability to do well if she gets a remote international RN job (like CMA, Admissions Coordinator, etc) in North America or Europe, that's what is driving me to ask you, especially when you mentioned it in your video with Jenilymicha. I've searched for these opportunities, I got replies already not favourable. Just about the time, I was waiting for your reply, the healthcare company I sent an email patterning same job, replied that they only take RNs from US or Puerto Rico due to taxes. So, I don't know. What do you advise? Is it possible that I'm looking for these opportunities where I won't get it?

    Very informative video and thank you. I am also nurse here in uk but I’ve work only in nursing home for 15 years. Base on your video you need to have a experience in hospital settings in order to take NCLEX exam. So meaning I am not allowed to take NCLEX exam since I have only work in nursing home settings. Please can you enlighten me with these
    Many thanks and Godbless

      Hello thanks for watching. Taking Nclex is not based off where you have worked it’s based solely on weather you meet the credential evaluation standard set forth. This must be equivalent to a USA trained RN. This will be determined by your ces report. If you meet the standards you can take the Nclex exam. Hope this helps 😀

    After your explanation I still find it difficult because in England specifically London, all uni have their trust of placement for their students. The uni allocate students to a particular trust for placement.
    So how do you think someone can get around this in order to gain clinical experience in those lacking areas???

    • @nurseing16
      @nurseing16  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Michael Moses thank you for your question. The answer is that it is up to you to request this from
      Your university in your last year. This would be your final placement before you qualify as a nurse. Now it could be a hit or miss as the university may not give you that placement. But if you should get it you would have the opportunity to make up those hours. For example if you are placed in a GP surgery or wellness clinic there is no way you would not be able to fulfil those hours as there are plenty mental health situations that you will come across and you would even be able to work with health visitors there, make sure you document it all in your cad book have discussions with your mentor and have them write in your book Micheal had the opportunity to work with the health visitor seeing mothers and new born babies or Micheal had interactions with mental
      Heal patients etc. this is the kind of things cgfn needs from you written proof. Now if you do not get allocated a community placement there is another way which I will do a video this week for you all.The only issues with this is that the body that can do the credential evaluation is limited to certain states which means you can only work in those states. The positive aspect is that they review quicker than cgfns. I will do a video this week about this do press the bell icon so your informed when I put out new videos. Hope this has helped some. 😀

    Hallo Lola, am currently working as a nurse in Germany n planning on starting my evaluation process to becoming a U.S RN, to my knowledge UK nursing is the same as German nursing, do you think I will have the same problem? Do you know of German nurses who have become U.S RN?

    I would like to start the process soon to do my NClex next year. I qualified last year and they changed the nursing programme to the future nurse programme I did the MSc in nursing. I did my final placement in a GP practise so I did baby imms and mental health clinics also I did 2 A&e placement where I saw a shadowed drug and alcohol and mental health nurses do you think that would help??? Currently I’m a nurse in sexual health where I work with both young people and adults

    • @nurseing16
      @nurseing16  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi congrats on qualifying at least you have one years experience since qualifying. I think you will definitely be ok with your credential evaluation for the main fact that you did the Gp placement. Please make sure you have records of this as cgfns will require these from you. Well done you went in the same direction I went in. In the community your exposed to such things like child and mental health. You should be ok once you apply. 😀

    • @vidashful
      @vidashful ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh that’s very reassuring to know, at the time I pushed for a GP placement because I was tired for the same old wards placement, so lucky that this might work in my favour. I did notice on the cgfns website you need one year bedside I did 10months in A&e before moving to sexual health do you think this would be a major problem?

    I heard that U.S does not recognise Uk nursing degree.

    • @nurseing16
      @nurseing16  ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s the credential evaluation that will let you down if your training did not incorporate the hours in the areas mentioned. They did not accept my icu training I was told I would
      Need to re-do by doing the AACN ( the American association of critical care nurses. It just goes to show just what a waste of time some of the U.K courses we do here are. Not beneficial to you if your planning to migrate.

      It is just that the U.K. changed the program a long time ago and that’s when things became problematic for U.K. nurse. African nurses program of study is similar to the USA program so they never have a problem with it.
