Hi Buddy, So I had commented earlier about whether this tank bag causes issue with the idling on the bike and I went ahead and bought it in Tobacco colour. Love the look and functionality. Been using it for a week but today I noticed the bike struggling to maintain idle rpm. My BS 6 INT 650 usually idles at 1100 but today with the bag it was going to 900 a few times and it felt like it would shut off. As soon as I kept it on the shoulder and off the tank the issue went away. Hope this is a one off and not happening with others.
@@RajeevAcharyaRidewithRaj so I figured out a way to fix this issue and thought of sharing it. Basically if the bag is mounted on the tank in such a way that the base of the bag is touching the point where the seat meets the tank, then this idling issue happens. I am guessing this is where the fuel pump is present. But if the bag is mounted in such a way that the top of the bag is touching the fuel cap and there is a couple of inches of space between the bottom of the bag and the point where the seat meets the tank, then the idling issue never happens. I took the bag on a 600 km ride following this method and no issues occurred.
I had seen in one of the other TH-cam reviews that the magnet of a tank bag may play spoil sport with the fuel pump and might cause the bike to idle lower and even stall in some cases. Anything similar in this case? I generally carry a small backpack and tie it to my luggage carrier on my day long rides. This looks way better and convenient.
