I think for Knee, he wasn’t using heat effectively. He would often burn his heat early using it for a heat dash and now you see him being more selective with that since he has a better understanding of how strong conserving your heat is. Great to see him perform well

No it’s not. All he did was use spider stance. It needs to be nerfed. Spider stance, spider stance, spider stance. That’s all he did. I can’t stand shadow at all. He sullied what could have been a proper victory from Knee by constantly using spider stance. Knee is used to spider stance… when there are still plenty of moves that can clip it. In tekken 8, there’s a small handful of characters and moves that can even touch Zafina in spider stance.

So happy for Knee finally coming to understand the game by focusing on characters suited to him that he knows in and out rather than playing to the meta. It feels like for the majority character mastery means so much more now than in Tag 2/7. But I do still feel Lili could play into his strengths even more. I love the way The Jon plays King. His mixup with SW/GS is phenomenal, but he really understands how to incorporate the threat of the throw as King becoming a true grappler now. It is obviously difficult in the moment, but the window to break is slightly longer for those two, so you can react to the startup of the back leg lift/arms lunging for the legs, that I wonder if in the situations where people expect the option to be between that mix they can at least fair better than the perceived 50/50.
This is why I love Spag and Rip. They truly bring the hype! Rookang is usually dry and boring af but ngl he popped off a bit this tournament, hope he keeps that up.
Knee should serve as a reminder that no amount of tier-whoring can ever overcome the age-old tradition of "git gud". In an environment where most of the hobby has become complaining about another character's bs move while simultaneously spamming tf out of your character's bs move, this dude picks the most fundamental, bs-less character in the game and simply outplays the competition (most of it anyway, lol).

That Shadow Knee match shows the breadth of styles in this game. Knee adapted and dominated in the faster paced style against Ulsan and then struggled against his (arguably) preferred slower paced style against Shadow’s Zafina since most of his options whiff against her low profile stances
My main is also Bryan can't hit Zafina at all most of the time. But high evade in general is a real problem in this game for me. It feels like almost every move has is.

Yes Shadow played really great, but I think being able to evade so many attacks by just being in a stance is way more BS that dealing with a character that has lots of throws. And Shadow broke a shit ton of throws from The Jon, even the really confusing ones like the running giant throw. Though ngl, it was such an immense pleasure to not see Dragunov in the finals, and it was awesome to see Knee kick some ass! Hopefully he keeps that form up :)

That Shadow Knee match shows the breadth of styles in this game. Knee adapted and dominated in the faster paced style against Ulsan and then struggled against his (arguably) preferred slower paced style against Shadow’s Zafina since most of his options whiff against her low profile stances

My main is also Bryan can't hit Zafina at all most of the time. But high evade in general is a real problem in this game for me. It feels like almost every move has is.

Yes Shadow played really great, but I think being able to evade so many attacks by just being in a stance is way more BS that dealing with a character that has lots of throws. And Shadow broke a shit ton of throws from The Jon, even the really confusing ones like the running giant throw.
Though ngl, it was such an immense pleasure to not see Dragunov in the finals, and it was awesome to see Knee kick some ass!
Hopefully he keeps that form up :)
