Definitely! That seems to be the major concern, is it going to be priced like Icon or like a radiance class ship? I agree if the price is right we're all in and would love to sail on NEW smaller ships.
I was on ovation last year from Vancouver to Hawaii and loved the ship, however it is not the ship I would consider for Alaska. I want a smaller ship that goes into more ports
Interesting. We did Alaska on Quantum. I can definitely see how a smaller ship would help there. With Juneau trying to limit passengers, this may be a smart move!
Royal Caribbean shot themselves in the foot when they dispensed with the 3 tier single dining room layout as on Voyager class ships and went to the 4 separate dining spaces instead on ships such as on Quantum. The 4 separate dining spaces just lost all the atmosphere and specialness that the old single 3 level single dining space had and a lot of regular RCL cruisers just will not go on the bigger ships. Ships that are bigger than Voyager and Explorer such as Quantum area just over sized and tend to lack any character or atmosphere when sailing more than a couple of days.
Very valid point. We actually did not like the quantum class when we sailed it. I think it's my least favorite of them all. I'm very interested to see what they do with this smaller ship and if they can regain some of that magic from the older ships with some modern upgrades.
Disagree. I have been on those Ships with the three level dining room. I Found it very noisy and was just too Packed with people. Whenever there was something going on on the main level it was difficult for people on the second and third level to see what was going on. Needless to say, we did not go there very often.
This makes sense. I think that's why I like the different options for style of dinning. Let's you find what works for you. There are times we stop going to the main dinning and just do the buffet or other restaurants due to the service, food or vibe.
You're not joking. That's the main thing keeping us off of Icon. We can typically do 2 cruises for the price of 1 on Icon. I hope you have a great time though. And yes I truly hope the prices are reasonable
I love the Oasis class - I think I'm done trying anything else-although, we already have a Beyond cruise booked for next May. I'm sure the smaller, new ships will go over well with cruisers who prefer smaller ships.
I HATE large cruise ships. I do not want to go on vacation with a small city of 7 to 8,000 people. A nice 2,600 to 3,000 passenger ship is perfect! I hope Carnival and others follow suite with NEW smaller ships.
Sounds like they heard you. We enjoy the medium to smaller shops as well, so I'm excited to see what discovery brings as long as they don't plan to cram it full with 3500 plus passengers.
I've known this has been coming almost since the beginning! Those mega-$hips were the dumbest idea ever, and I have never and will never step foot on one!!!
They're definitely not everyone's cup of tea. Royal also just announced they ordered their 4th icon class ship and have a contract option to build a 5th and 6th as well. They also ordered their 7th oasis class. So it seems they're just trying to please everyone.
@@amysturnkeytravel But eventually with all this Bigger & Better, the cost to cruise will outweigh the value and many will no longer be able to afford it. Like my retired self!
We 100% agree. The cost has gone up drastically (like everything else) but it does make me wonder, how much higher it can go before it prices people out of the market.
So utopia literally sailed their first sailing less than a month ago. Mr. Bayley announced it on there and then confirmed it again later at a travel agent meeting which is when we decided to come forward with it with what we've heard to date. Some people obviously have known, but some are finding it helpful. Have a great day
@@amysturnkeytravel Ignore the trolls. I hadn't heard the RCCL announcements. However, I did know about a fire down the street and when the news reported on it at 5pm I screamed at the TV and told them it was old news.
We appreciate you. We do what we can when we can for everyone hopefully it helps some or at least entertains them. The good news is troll or not, comments help the channel 😉 thanks for your support.
We love cruising on mid size ships. I am happy to hear news.
That's awesome! Which class do you feel is your favorite?
Gives more options. If the price point is right for the size then I’m definitely a fan. Cruise on!

I hope he keeps the costs down...I wouldn't want to pay what I'm paying for Icon next month! Especially for a smaller ship.

Which is your favorite Oasis ship? Allure is getting amplified soon. We're gonna have a video coming out on all the updates :)

Wish i could go
Well, they havent opened this class yet, so there's still time :) Hopefully, you can make that happen one day.

Smaller, faster, more ports, farther away.
Absolutely. Love some of the old world ports that are too small for the larger ships.
Love tne big ships!
Which one is your favorite?
