@@timeforvlog I would not be surprised if 30 dollars per gallon becomes a reality in a bad economy! This inflation has the real potential to get out of control real fast if left unchecked
We had carless days in New Zealand in the late 70's. Every car's registration had 1 specific day a week nominated when you couldn't drive that car. The speed limit also dropped from 100 km/h to 80 km/h. Crazy times.
It was a repeat of 2008 for me. But the 1970s had to be a crazy time. Americans still reeling from Vietnam were suddenly paying more for gasoline, factories closing, and professional sports maybe not happening. It happened again in 1979, but that time people made smarter choices by buying smaller cars and foreign cars became more popular. 2022 turned out to be a year most of us want to forget.
@@ikt123 you are the ones using our productions you litteraly need a whole army to go in the other side of earth to get oil diamands gold and much more
I bought my first brand new car in 74. I traveled between Mississippi and Indiana and did not have any problem getting gas. The prices of gas really jumped in 74 and the government dropped the National Speed Limit to 55MPH.
@@switch12345678 I was there in 73 and the first half of 74...luckily I had ration coupons for mybgas...bought at "Esso" starions.. but all GUs were told to follow German laws on druving/not driving in weekends...didn't want to issue off our hosts..there was still the excellent and wonderful Bundesbahn system...
So WHY did the crisis happen??? It was 50 years ago! No cause aside from a little line that it was OPEC? Why? Honestly what’s the rest of the story? What happened to cause oil shortages? Didn’t we learn so that this wouldn’t happen again? Why is it that in 2019 we actually were exporting excess oil for the first time in over 20 years?
In October 1973, OPEC (The organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting countries), led by Saudi Arabia proclaimed an oil embargo to nations that supported Israel in the Yom Kippur War.
The King of Saudi Arabia” King Faisal” in 1973, stopped gas pump to any country who supported Isreal. In 6 weeks he made Americans go back to horse riding on streets. They kept begging him and he kept refusing until he was assasinated in 1975.
😣As a former Dallas Texan I wish gas prices were that low here in Southern California.
Good job king faisal thank you sir for not giving USA and western countries fulels
Respect to King Faisal
$3.90 a gallon is a bargain! Here in California, we are paying $6.50 a gallon per gas.
the accumulated inflation between 1970 and now is 700%. So it's like paying 31usd per gallon now

Saudi Arabia has the credit for America

Always be what the market will bare.
what a cool cars, I would like one now if I had lot of money or fuel prices were small :)
🤷🏻Here in California gas prices are nearly $6.00 a gallon.🙀😣
They're not done
.... and food prices? LOL
7.00 dollars now.😿🙀
But at least you can get gas don’t have to be in line and maybe get gas in the 1970s
I came home from Gernany in July of 1974 and found gas lines, even/odd days for driving and buying gas...
Americans whine, but in Germany the price is twice as high because of the taxes.

@@switch12345678 That's because Americans buy cars with half the fuel efficiency of German cars. Makes no sense.
We can thank Sammy Hagar for his 1984 hit "I Can't Drive 55" to change our driving habits.
This will happen again and a lot worst hopefully
It is happening right now in south Florida
time for a little top up

1973 yup and gas prices quadrupled.

Ironically, the Arabs were prevented from being nuked, so they punished everyone who saved them from nuclear annihilation.
Motorcycles were popular back in the seventies and are popular again.😅
They didn't mention Iran at all.
Incredible.
But football is more important than some foreign country, dude!🙄
All because of king Faisal 🇸🇦
