I make French bread sour dough. Right before you put the bread in the oven throw a cup of ice cubes in the oven and stick your bread in. After 3-5 min of cooking, spray the bread down with a clean spray bottle of water. The water creates steam. The ice cubes and spray water make the crust chewy and soft.

That is beautiful looking bread! I learned how to make bread by watching my Dad do it when I was little. He never made sourdough, though. I started watching Anna's channel about a month ago and I really loved it when she decided to do this collab.
I used to make all of our bread when my sons were growing up, but I haven't done it very much in the past 20 odd years. But, watching all of the sourdough videos from the collab has gotten me thinking about starting again, especially since the weather has cooled down over the past couple of weeks. I loved the tip about rolling up the dough to form the loaf. I've always made 2 balls of dough per loaf, but, I'll have to try your method! Thanks for the great tips!

I thought maybe I wasn't alone in not loving the crunchy crust!

This was perefect timing. I was just thinking of starting a sourdough starter again. I've tried getting a stargter going once and it failed. But, I'm ready to try again. Thanks for the inspiration.

Your loaf’s turned out beautiful. I’m really excited for this collab. I want to learn how to make sourdough really bad. I ordered a starter but I might try to make from scratch. Thanks for sharing.

I am definitely going to try the refrigerate for a week method for starter this time around. It gets expensive to make so much sourdough.

Great! So am I, really! This is the one thing I've made a lot of, but with sourdough it seems like the sky is the limit!
