In a 3 story house, inside distance between column to column is 15 * 10 feet & column size 12 *10 inch (4 columns). The roof beam size of ground floor is 12 inch excluding 4 and half inch roof thickness. The roof beam of ground floor (without wall) consists of 3 16 mm bars on top and 3 bars i.e. 2 nos of 16 & 1 no 12 mm bar bottom & ring at 6 inch distance with 8 mm bar. My question is which portion of roof beam that means whether the top 3 bars or bottom 3 bars of roof beam of ground floor will take load of rest 2 upper floors. It is noteworthy to mention here that the ground floor has no wall whereas the upper 2 floors have walls.
