Unironically Bill Hader would have been a better cat in the hat then Mike Myers, he's a lot more expressive in his face and body like Jim Carrey is, which is what made the live action grinch work, which is why Mike Myers didn't work because he looked like he was constantly constricted by the costume

Mainly because the movie was essentially the embodiment of meme culture before it existed, which is why it didn't work at the time if its release. Don't get me wrong, it probably wouldn't have won any awards and it would still be trippy and ridiculous. But I think if it were released today people wouldn't be hating on it quite as much
